She’s the woman who has had President George W. Bush’s ear since he took office, first as his National Security Advisor, and then as his Secretary of State. "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" interviews US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on the Mumbai attacks, her tenure, and the challenges facing the incoming Secretary of State. I’ll speak with outgoing Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who is fresh from her trip overseas where she made an unscheduled visit to India to offer American support after the Mumbai terror attacks, and her Buckingham piano performance for Queen Elizabeth. We’ll talk to Secretary Rice about the U.S. investigation into the attacks, the fight against international terrorism, and the state of diplomatic relations between India and Pakistan. We’ll also ask about her tenure in the Bush administration, the challenges facing President-elect Barack Obama’s pick for the State Department, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. And. . . Ron Gettelfinger, President of the United Automobile Workers. The union said this week it would make major concessions in its contracts to help the Big Three automakers lobby Congress for $34 billion in federal aid. Plus, the This Week Roundtable on the likelihood of an auto industry bailout, Obama’s national security team, and the economy. ABC’s George Will, Cokie Roberts, The Wall Street Journal’s Peggy Noonan, and the Washington Post’s E.J. Dionne. See you Sunday morning. –George Stephanopoulos
