Et Tu, Joe the Plumber?

On the syndicated Glenn Beck radio program Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher begins hawking his as-yet-unpublished book
"Joe the Plumber: Fighting for the American Dream," with insinuations that the book will make a less-than-flattering assessment of the man who made him famous, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.

"I like to think I’m a little more educated than some out there on politics," says Wurzelbacher, saying the book will offer readers an "inside look" at the campaign.

He says he "talked to John McCain pretty in depth" and implies that what he heard was less than honest — specifically in terms of how McCain could have voted for the Wall Street bailout bill given all the pork in it. The conversation made Wurzelbacher "angry… I wanted to get off the bus after I talked to him."

Why didn’t he?

"The thought of Barack Obama becoming president scares me even more," he says.

Let us recall that McCain stood by Wurzelbacher even after he agreed that a vote for Barack Obama is a vote for the "death of Israel," prompting Fox News’ Shep Smith to say of Wurzelbacher, "it just gets frightening sometimes."

“Joe” always struck me as a Palin man. She doesn’t seem to respect experience in one’s Veep, so maybe he can tag along as her 2012 running mate?

Weazlebacher… is the worst side of what got us George W. Bush
and he really shouldn’t think he “knows” more about politics…
he was an idiot when he asked the question…
and now we learn not only is he an idiot…but he has no character to boot.
a guy making a buck on something he shouldn’t… a really small brain.

Especially since William Ayers wrote dreams of my father, and his own book, Fugitive Days. Same style of writing: the triple dependent clause; nautucal metaphors; boys riding on top of water buffalo. Same girlfriend with green eyes, who lives on the estate with a large pond in the back yard; both left her as they didn’t fit into “her world.” Both books have NYC fugitive feeling as Ayers lived in NY, underground.

Go away “Joe”,
Your fifteen minutes of fame are over. Yeah, you pride youself with asking “incisive” questions. You like to think you’re more educated. Yes, you like to “think”. You also like throwing around terms like “Socialism” and Marxism when it’s pretty obvious you have never read Das Kapital nor do you really understand the tenets of socialism for the sake of fear-mongering. I wonder why if Obama is so frightening Obama won even more of the white vote then Kerry, and also managed to win men.
Go away Joe, you are not fighting for the American Dream. Our soon-to-be 44th President whom you describe as frightening is the one doing that. Even McCain who has seemed to have gone back to his old self after the campaign will be passing laws and doing more useful things then you are.

Actually Joe Wurzelbacher probably is a good guy though maybe not an expert politician and yet as someone here pointed out the days of fame are over. It was nice to have someone with a positive background like Joe the Plumber as the weeks of fame rather then someone who only gets it because of a crime like Caylee Anthony’s mother, John Wayne Bobbitt, Gennifer Flowers, Scott Peterson, Susan Smith, Tonya Harding, or Gary Hart’s mistress

Apparently, from another article, Joe the (unlicensed) Plumber liked Sarah Palin the best of all. What does this say?
Many Republicans were frightened by Palin and her anti-intellectualism (and her inability to talk in complete sentences/sound coherent/not beat around the forest). Joe the Plumber, however, seems to like those qualities and felt that she was the one who wanted to serve America. Whatever. 150k wardrobe, anyone? Her per diems? It says all about the kind of person Joe is.
Hey Joe, go read Das Kapital and the Communist Manifesto first, then you can debate it with President Obama, kay? Otherwise, please go back into hiding.

Michael
Joe was “positive”
He sounded manipulative and tactical on a farm league level…
“marxism” c’mon he obviously has no vclue (and definitively didn’t even know when he said it) what Marxism was.
“positive” is a big stretch with this guy. as we see him now throwing Mccain under the bus…
I am sure if GWBush walked in and said my name is Charlie and I am running for President…
Joe Wurzelbacker would (again) donate to his campaign.

I can’t believe anyone is still giving this guy any air time. Who cares what he thinks? He liked Mc Cain when he put him before the public and now he is critizing him. He is a joke. What makes him think anyone wants or cares about his opinion. Even though I did not vote for Mc Cain…I think he deserves better from this guy. The fact that he thinks Palin is the real deal….we’ll see when her book comes out.

This man is trying to make a buck from his 15 minutes of fame. He claims that he has service-oriented reasons for the costs of his website and his book, but in reality he is trying to make a buck from his time in the spotlight. His motive is not altruistic, yet self-serving.

I wouldn’t waste a dime on Joe the “Fraud”‘s book. What possibly could he say that I don’t already know that he would say. Folks like this are so predictable.
Let the Republicans have this fool all to themselves. Joe the “Fraud” and Sarah “Sparkle Pony” what a pair. LOL

Incredible. We all know people like Joe the Plumber. He can’t tell the difference between McCain and Palin? Straight talk over fluff? Looks like McCain told him, “No Joe, there is no Santa Claus.” He reminds me of the old fable of the idiot who is looking for some brains; the happy ending is that the idiot gets married and that is the only way a fool will get brains. Sorry Joe.

Why are they still calling this man a plumber when he is not one? It takes an education and hard work to become a plumber, attributes he apparently does not have. I have friends that are plumbers and the test to become a licensed plumber is very hard. Anyone that would spend hard earned money on a book by “Joe not a Plumber” needs to get their head checked.

Joe Wurzelbacher is absolutely correct. John McCain lost the election the moment he bought into the Wall Street bailout.
If McCain had stood against the Bailout, he would have clearly distinguished himself from Obama and the Congressional Democrats as well as Bush who was their ally on this socialist fiasco.
Now with Obama headed to the White House, they are are socializing the auto industry and no-telling what else. Soon we’ll have Soviet-style “Five Year Plans” to completely destroy our freedom.
Since Socialism has never worked anywhere, a backlash will inevitably come. Wurzelbacher will make a great congressman when it does!

Joe who?

Posted by: Sue | December 10, 2008, 11:50 am 11:50 am

In America, if I say the sun is literally a tiger that jumps through my window and lunges about warming things up, that is OK because it is my opinion and free speech honors my opinion. But free speech does not honor my opinion to be equal to another’s statement of fact. I can express my opinion and that is it. Anti-intellectuals like Joe, evangelicals, and radical conservatives cling to the hope that freedom of speech will allow their opinions to be not only heard but respected. I can casually hold up my hand, “No, the sun is demonstrably not a tiger. No, although the Bible literally states there is a firmament above us and there is none. The Bible is not literally true. No, the Bible had the opportunity to make a statement about abortion and there is none in it. The right to life movement stands on invented morality. No, the Bible does not weigh in on abortion or even infanticide, both of which were commonly practiced at the time the biblical authors wrote. No, Joe the plumber does not have anything of value to add to our nation’s political discourse. No, Sarah Palin is not competent. No, not all small time mayors could also successfully manage a Burger King franchise. Lots of people are idiots and some even have higher ranking jobs than mayor or manager. On the other hand, lots of mayors and managers are smart. No, most of the comments on any internet blog are not based on facts and lots of opinion does not counterbalance a small fact. No, prayer does not work. For example, if your car does not start and you pray, seemingly by chance a person might happen by and offer you a ride, but prayer does not get an automobile started. No, snakes don’t talk and none ever have. No, women do not have menstrual cycles because God is punishing them. No, the Earth is not experiencing natural weather cycles. Blah, blah, blah. There are facts and they matter. Lots of people have no power, like Joe, for example, they have no power because they are dumb and uneducated and do not know how to wield facts effectively. It has always been that way.

Ah, Joe the Plumber, McCain’s buddy, is appalled by McCain. What a terrific buddy to have!! Watch out McCain, you were drawn to a vicious rattlesnake, the only difference is the rattlesnake does NOT pretend to be your buddy!! Palin’s lack of intellectual intelligence matches Joe’s so it is no wonder he thinks she is “the real thing”; I suppose he believes he, himself, is “the real thing” as well! What he presented to then candidate Obama was based on lies, he did not have the money to buy the plumbing business, did not have a plumbing license, and owed back taxes; yet he made it sound like he was ready to buy the business “real soon”. What a fraud!! Maybe Sarah Palin can get him a job in her governor’s office, afterall, she does NOT require “knowhow”, just “buddies” to cover for her!!

Thoren, please read the Bible before you make comments on it. It is also a historical record of the people of the time. Because they did things that are against God’s word, does not mean God condones it. Sure they had adultery, murder, deceit, and dishonesty, they very things we do now. Don’t imply it is OK because it is documented in the Bible. Read it.

Joe never said he was a plumber. He stated that over and over. This was just a man that had a dream and was asked a question. It is ridiculous
to crucify him for his response to a question that was asked of him on the spur of the moment or do you think he saw Obama and said hummmm what can I say to get all this national attention.

whats also frightening is that thanks to the internet, morons like you get to infect everybody else with your nonsense. if you paid any attention at all to the campaign you would have seen that the media didnt care about obama until he started pulling away from clinton in the primaries. it was all about hillary in the beginning. and maybe mccain would have gotten a free ride instead if he didnt do politically stupid things like pretend a complete moron like sam the plumber or sarah “man-chin” palin had a clue about anything.

Once upon a time we valued ‘common’ sense. Now we value what we learn from The View, Leno, Letterman, Colbert, etc. Most liberals I know are so removed from how working stiffs view the world that they are offended when regular people express an opinion. Seems as if the very people who despise Palin and Joe would love to see Stalin or Marx run our country. As Ted Turner says: Castro is a man I respect and I love how he runs Cuba. I believe most liberals agree with that. Too bad they cannot experience the conditions there first hand. Ignorance is bliss.

Like Sarah Palin, he’s a little rough around the edges, but I think he’s an ideal Republican candidate:
Ignorant and proud of it. He’s a plumber who really isn’t a plumber. A welfare queen who hates socialism. He sucks up to McCain as a way to get a leg up in this horrible Republican economy, and then throws him under the bus when he’s done. He doesn’t seem to have any beliefs, but he is loyal to the Republican brand, whatever that is.
He’s like a pitbull without the lipstick… or is it a hockey mom with testosterone… who doesn’t know why he’s cheering, but he’s gonna cheer for his team, even if he cannot remember what their jersey’s look like. And, while he’s all riled up, he’s gonna maul other pitbulls, hockey fans, toddlers, even his owners.
A perfect pair: Palin/Plumber 2012. Wrong but Strong!
Bizarre.

Real Republicans weren’t frightened by Sarah Palin. Only faux Republicans in blue states who had no clue about her real record were.
And it’s hilarious watching people who clearly don’t have a clue about her record talk about how stupid she is. Yeah, she’s so stupid she managed to unseat a sitting governor in her own party in a primary and defeat two other candidates for the job (including a guy who is apparently a walking encyclopedia), had major bipartisan achievements (including both a gas pipeline and oil revenue restructuring that were opposed by the oil companies in Alaska), enjoyed an approval rating as high as 89%, and documentary maker Elan Frank followed her around for three days and she never asked him to turn off the camera. Oh, and she was cleared on the ethics charges that were supposed to bring her down because there was never anything there.
So we’re supposed to believe that any twit of a beauty queen can defeat an incumbant governor with 24 years of political experience, pass legislation opposed by the oil industry, talk with T. Boone Pickens (in his words) “like two oil and gas professionals”, and enjoy an 80%+ approval rating as governor, right? In your fantasies, maybe. And, yeah, she’s so “intolerant” that she vetoed a bill that would have denied gays and lesbians health benefits from the state when she was told it would be unconstitutional by her legal experts.

I can’t speak for others.
But I find that a guy who lies about his position:
1) He claimed he was about to buy a business that made a certain amount of money. He was not about to buy a business and the business did not earn nearly that much.
2) and is hypocritical in being highly critical of something while he benefited it:
Joe doesn’t like welfare and redistribution of wealth when he in fact collected it.
That this fraud became a hero to right wingers is quite telling.

Let’s define the word ‘critic’, shall we?
Books have critics.
Movies have critics.
Theories have critics.
Liars don’t have critics. They have fact-finders who expose their lies.
and no, Joe’s 15 minutes are not up. We have a whole 4 years to spare for him, thank you very much. Keep talking, Joe. We like the reminder.

Joe the Plumber NOT was nothing but a political plant. The entire thing was a ploy and scripted from the beginning. To believe he came out of nowhere coincidentally running into Senator Obama is just ignorant. Just another Pub stunt that failed just like the two jokes they ran for the Presidency.
Go away Joe the Loser. I heard they had an open plumber position in Alaska for you. You’ll be in good company there with someone else of little signifigance…

On the contrary, what makes me annoyed is that Mr-Know-it-all (aka Joe the Fraud) goes, “Oh my gosh, I’m so worried, under Obama it sounds like we’re going to be transitioning closer to Marxism and Socialism.” to fear-monger, when its obvious:
-He doesn’t have a darned clue what socialism and Marxism is
-Hasn’t read Das Kapital, in contrast to his claims that he knows more about politics.
-If he really knew the tenets of Socialism and Marxism, he’d know that Obama isn’t a socialist, though he of course is more to the left then the right.
-He’d know that our tax system is fundamentally socialist- you pay taxes, govt uses them for common good- to build roads for everybody to use, for that dispatcher who answers the phone when you dial 911.
He’s just saying them to sound intelligent and to scare people.
To those of you defending Sarah Palin, yeah, fine, maybe she IS qualified to be governor, but definitely not VPOTUS. She uttered plain gibberish during the interviews. She has an annoying habit of NOT answering questions and beating around the bush. She could not even talk in proper sentences. And it’s pretty obvious half the time she had no clue what she was talking about.

Watching FOX News or listening to rightwing nut radio does not make someone “educated in politics” as Joe claims. I dare say it proves how ignorant and uninformed you are. Get a life, take care of your responsibilities and form your own opinions, not ditto, ditto, ditto….

What’s worse, someone who is very smart and educated, but acts incredibly stupid or an ill informed, irresponsible citizen who believes he can interject himself into a presidential campaign and have a positive impact?

This dude had been a regular caller on rightwing radio circuit for some time. We’re to believe he just “happened” to be where Obama was when he asked him those idiotic questions? Dittoheads unite! Of course, what more would you expect from someone who thinks Rush Limbaugh is a true American patriot. Pass me the donuts and drugs please!

This guy is a damn liar, but who is to blame? The media for even interviewing this idiot. Now that he has acquired a taste for publicity, all of a sudden he has written a book? Who in the hell wrote it for him in the space of less two months. Come on America, let’s show him exactly who has the brains!! Don’t buy that stupid book!!
