Exclusive: Obama’s Blago Report: Only One Rahm Call to Governor

Unless the press has any additional information to the contrary, leave Obama alone on the issue of Blago. The Precidency is busy as it is already. Let’s focus on how to save this country from the Bush mess. There is no time for speculation…just report facts.

What exactly was the discussion about Emanuel’s congressional seat? What was the favor that the Governor thought Emanuel wanted with regard to that seat?

Obama had a very cozy relationship with Rod Blagojevich. Let’s wait and see what more turns up. Anything can happen. I agree with MadeinUSA that his has the potential to become Watergate II.

Since we know all the conversations were taped, everything is documented for investigators and will come out to the public.
Investigators have already said that Rahm and Obama are not targets of their investigation.

Obama’s relationship with Blago was anything but cozy. The right wing is desperately trying to weave some sort of corruption by the Obama people into this and it just isn’t going to happen. The true colors of the Republican party are shining brightly as we enter a new era of government in Washington and the country. It is clear that their sole objective will be to dishonor and bring down the new administration and Congress, any way they can. This is why they have lost so much respect and so many elections recently. Sadly, it will never change. Good riddance.

Emanuel’s calls were caught on wiretap. We will then know if Obama’s and Emanuel lie. I think Obama will lie cause he is a major liar. I have caught him in so many lies during the campaign and at he even lied 3 times about his own family. The media glossed over his lying as they glossed over everything else about him. I predict that Obama’s Presidency will be filled with one unfavorable relevation about him after another because our corrupt media didn’t do their homework on a guy we didn’t know anything about. So now we will have to find out about him the hard way. It’s too bad too, because our country desperately needs a President with some balls who will go in an solve our problems and not someone who will endulge in yet more corrupt betrayal. But, I am from Illinois where we are trying to get rid of our corrupt governor, Blagovich, who refuses to do the right thing for Illinois and resign. So I don’t have any confidence in government and I don’t pin my hopes on Obama who crawled up from the same corrupt slime pit as Blagovich, Chicago.

Its interesting how Stephanopolis and others whose job it is to be a journalist at the station do not report on or feel that Obama officials are not to blame for starting the entire Senate replacement issue by demanding that Valerie Jarrett be appointed within a specific period of time. This my friends, was the start of this whole mess, and Boss Obama is to blame.. The Governor pushed back.

I thought Obama said there were NO contacts. Now we see the second part of an all too common theme with Obama. First, deny – then admit some contact – and finally we will find out that, yes indeed, there were numerous contacts. If this is not an out and out lie by Mr. Obama it will soon turn into one as he tries to cover up those contacts. This is just plain stupid on Mr. Obama’s part. There were conversations between his staff and the governor over who was going to be named to his senate seat. Why would he deny that? Why wouldn’t he just state what should seem obvious and expected, that there were contacts but then deny any wrong doing on the bribe side.
Again, if this an example of Mr. Obama’s supposed intelligence then we have all been had by an idiot. To borrow a saying that was used to describe Bush; somewhere in Africa a village is missing its idiot.

Nice comment, you attack the current administration and then ask that we all leave the partisanship at home. That is not the way to end the politics of personal destruction. In fact, you have just given the green light to those who feel compelled to attack Obama. Why should Democrats get to attack Republicans and Republicans not have that same right to return the attack?
Mr. Obama has to understand that he will need to control his supporters if he has any chance to foster a “loyal opposition” instead of an opposition that is out for the same blood they have seen extracted from them.

Also you mentioned things being so good under Clinton. I liked him but also know that many of the things he started has just now caught up with us and put us in this shape. NAFTA was signed by him and I remember when all that was going on people telling him it was the wrong thing to do and both parties backed him. I don’t think Obama will serve past one term.

The impetus for NAFTA actually began with President Ronald Regan, who campaigned on a North American common market. In 1984, Congress passed the Trade and Tariff Act. This is important because it gave the President “fast-track” authority to negotiate free trade agreements, while while only allowing Congress the ability to approve or disapprove, not change negotiating points…….. Bottom line. NAFTA is plenty bi-partisan. Tho I have issues with it as well.

It is amazing that so many of those who left comments have absolutely no regard for facts or information. They seem to worship at the shrines of Hannity and Limbaugh whose political beliefs are whatever will get them larger audiences to justify their bloated salaries. About 5 million Americans tune in to those two creeps and parrot everything they say because they have no thoughts of their own based upon monumental ignorance.

I’ll give Obama the benefit of the doubt but I will not give Emanuel the benefit of the doubt. A “courtesy call” was actually five calls, one to the Governor and four to his right hand hack. The term appreciation is obviously being used as a code phrase, based on prior dealings. When asked if all he got was appreciation, it sounds like this is a comfortable conversation where in the past where other forms of consideration (example: campaign donationas) have been in play, but this time it’s “appreciation”.

I don’t think Obama will be a good President. Fact is I don’t think he will even last four years. With all the controversies dogging him, Obama will probably be impeached after six months in office.

I hope that the sheer ignorance and stupidity demonstrated by critics of Obama on this page is the effect of living with 8 years of Bush/Cheney and will abate after a few years of experiencing a government led by an intelligent and thoughtful president. The extreme hatred that the left has shown to Bush over the last eight years has built up a lot of hostility on the right to anyone perceived as being part of that. I feel sorry for Mr. Obama because he will be on the receiving end of their retribution. The left should have remained level headed in their opposition to Bush and left the personal attacks alone. I am incredibly curious to know what the conversation was in regard to Rahm’s Congressional seat. The law states that within 120 days after a congressman gives up his/her seat there will be a special election. There really is no discussion that seems plausible for that seat between the two.

Stephen: Obama didn’t have the experience to clean up the mess that Bush made that’s why he picks the people from Clinton’s administration. They are 100 times more experience and know what Obama hasn’t learned yet. He will be the president in name only the administration will be running the country. He is no Bill Clinton who knew how to run the country and made decisions of his own. There is more to the story on Emanuel because he and the governor were friends while he was a senator. He also was raised by his Indonesian father who may have made him a citizen there. Wrong, as soon as Rahm Emanuel knew the governor was asking for something in return for naming the senate replacement he was obligated to tell investigators. If he did not do this (so far it seems he did not) then he has broken the law. He should either resign his position or Obama should throw him out. If obama discussed the offers made to Rahm Emanuel, even if he rejected the extortion attempt, then he too has broken the law.

When can we impeach Obama – on his first day in office or in his first full day in office?

If 1/20/09 comes and goes with a usurper in the Whitehouse (that is, Obama is definitely NOT an Article II “natural born citizen” — dad Kenyan/British citizen at BHO’s birth –albeit he MAY BE a 14th Amendment “citizen”) with usurper enablers in Congress and the Supreme Court … God help us because many of the people will — rightfully and under our Constitution and Declaration of Independence — endeavor through other means to take back the Government from what is nothing less than a non-constitutional coup d’etat.
SCOTUS now does have the power to forestall that grim yet inevitable scenario, otherwise the blood and possible loss of our Constitutional Republic is SQUARELY ON THEIR HEADS.

Actually if you have lived in Chicago as long as I have 15 years (not native Chicagoan) you realize that what Blago did is business as usual here. The people here do not care. They vote for a D regardless of whom that person is. They only have a problem when things do not work like they should. We know it is corrupt, the city and the state. We do not care as long as life is still good. Blago made the mistake, along with the General Assembly to get us into a $3-4 billion deficit. The dumbest thing he did, with the approval of the General Assembly (Obama included) was bypass the FDA and purchase flu vaccine from France when the vaccine shortages occurred. However our leaders could not use it since he bypassed the FDA and therefor could not disperse it.
Comparatively Mayor Daley is far more corrupt than Blago.

I was appalled at the callous disregard for the bruised feelings and passions of civil rights activists in Donna Brazile’s on air comments this morning that by the time Aretha Franklin sang at the inauguration, everyone will have forgotten all about Rick Warren.
My family and I worked terribly hard and sacrificed not readily available finances to help elect Barrack Obama believing he was a sincere civil rights advocate and that the Democratic Party was espousing a platform for social progressivism and self-determination for all Americans regardless of what class or color or orientation or belief. We were fooled and we were lied to by the Democratic Party, and by Obama.
Those of us who are advocates for civil rights for Americans and who have been so since the 60′s will not be watching an inauguration the spiritual center piece of which is the bigot Rick Warren so Aretha’s dulcid tones will be lost on us, and we will never be led down the path by the Democratic Party again. By the way, I am not gay, as I hear consistently in the media that the only people who care about the Bigot Warren’s role in the inauguration are gay activists.
There has never been a greater demonstration of the concept that there is nothing to be offered Americans by either political major party than Obama’s wrapping himself in the flag on his inaugural podium with America’s leading bigot Rick Warren. As far as BO helping to elect Blago, he was very tepid in his support as a US senator supporting a sitting Gov. I am well aware of Blago bankrupting the state, I work for the state of IL. BO was sworn into the US senate in 2005, in the last three years he had no part in the state of the state. Prior to his election as US senator, he was a state senator when the REPUBLICANS controlled the state senate.
The salient point to all of this is that there is little or no connection between the Blagos and the Obamas.

& because his mother wasn’t yet 19 years of age when she gave birth (14 + 5), she could not confer US citizenship on Barack.

I. FROM THE BLAGOJEVICH COMPLAINT
35. As described more fully in the following paragraphs, Mercy Hospital, which sought permission from the Planning Board to build a hospital in Illinois, received that permission through Rezko’s exercise of his influence at the Planning Board after Rezko was promised that Mercy Hospital would make a substantial campaign contribution to ROD BLAGOJEVICH. Rezko later told a member of the Planning Board that Mercy Hospital received the permit because ROD BLAGOJEVICH wanted the organization to receive the permit.
36. Levine’s criminal activities included his abuse of his position on the Planning Board to enrich both himself and Friends of Blagojevich. The Planning Board was a commission of the State of Illinois, established by statute, whose members were appointed by the Governor of the State of Illinois. At the relevant time period, the Planning Board consisted of nine individuals. State law required an entity seeking to build a hospital, medical office building, or other medical facility in Illinois to obtain a permit, known as a “Certificate of Need” (“CON”), from the Planning Board prior to beginning construction.
37. Levine, as well as Planning Board members Thomas Beck and Imad Almanaseer, testified under oath at the Rezko Trial.9 Beck testified that he asked Rezko to reappoint him to the Planning Board and that Beck thereafter followed Rezko’s directions regarding which CON applications Rezko wanted approved. Beck testified that it was his job to communicate Rezko’s interest in particular CONs to other members of the Planning Board, including Almanaseer, who were loyal to Rezko. Beck testified that he understood that Rezko spoke for the Blagojevich administration when Rezko spoke to Beck about particular CONs. Almanaseer testified that Beck instructed him that Rezko wanted Almanaseer to vote a particular way and that Almanaseer should follow Levine’s lead in voting on CONs. Almanaseer testified that before certain Planning Board meetings, he received notecards from Beck indicating how to vote on certain CON applications. Beck testified he provided these notecards to Almanaseer and certain other members of the Planning Board to communicate Rezko’s directions about certain CON applications.
38. During his testimony, Levine described a plan to manipulate the Planning Board to enrich himself and Friends of Blagojevich. The plan centered on an entity commonly known as Mercy Hospital (“Mercy”) that was attempting to obtain a CON to build a new hospital in Illinois. Levine knew the contractor hired to help build the hospital. In approximately November 2003, on behalf of the contractor, Levine checked with Rezko to determine whether Rezko wanted Mercy to obtain its CON. Rezko informed Levine that Mercy was not going to receive its CON. According to Levine, he asked Rezko whether it would matter to Rezko if Mercy’s construction contractor paid a bribe to Rezko and Levine and, in addition, made a contribution to ROD BLAGOJEVICH. Levine testified that Rezko indicated that such an arrangement would change his view on the Mercy CON.
39. Levine’s testimony regarding Rezko’s actions to change the Planning Board decision concerning Mercy’s application for a CON based on contributions for ROD BLAGOJEVICH is confirmed by attorney Steven Loren. Loren testified at Rezko’s criminal trial and, before that, in the grand jury.11 According to Loren, in approximately December 2003, Levine informed Loren that Rezko was against the Mercy CON. According to Loren, Levine relayed to Loren a conversation between Rezko and Levine during which Levine asked Rezko whether a political contribution to ROD BLAGOJEVICH would make a difference for Mercy’s CON, and Rezko responded to Levine that such a contribution might make a difference.
40. Thereafter, and confirmed by the testimony of Levine, Beck, and Almanaseer, as well as recorded conversations, Rezko switched his directions to Beck and informed Beck that Mercy was to receive its CON. According to Almanaseer, although he previously had been told by Beck that Rezko did not want Mercy to receive its CON, he was later told that there had been a change and that Rezko now wanted Mercy to receive its CON.
41. Mercy received its CON as a result of a controversial and irregular vote at a public Planning Board meeting.12 The vote brought significant publicity to the Planning Board and ultimately led to the disbanding of the Planning Board. Almanaseer testified under oath in the grand jury that not long after the Planning Board vote on Mercy’s CON he saw Rezko at a fundraiser. According to Almanaseer, he was still embarrassed about what had occurred at the Planning Board vote on Mercy’s CON and Rezko’s role in the vote. Almanaseer testified that he asked Rezko why Rezko had switched the vote on the Mercy CON. According to Almanaseer, Rezko stated: “The Governor wanted it to pass.”
II. FROM EVELYN PRINGLE’S “CURTAIN TIME” ONLINE ARTICLES
Tony Rezko is a private citizen. Therefore, the evidence presented in the trial focused on his influence over officials in getting members appointed to the Boards. Prosecutors did not discuss how the legislation got passed that enabled the Planning Board to be set up in a way that allowed for the appointment of members to rig the votes to begin with.
That part of the scheme will likely be detailed in future indictments, probably starting with Blagojevich. Blagojevich signed the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Act with an effective date of June 27, 2003. However, before he could sign the act, a bill had to be passed by the Illinois House and Senate. As discussed fully in Curtain Time Part II, Obama was the inside guy in the senate who pushed through the legislation that resulted in the Act.
Obama was appointed chairman of the Senate Health and Human Services Committee. The minute the bill was introduced, it was referred to his committee for review. The sponsors of the bill also served on this committee with Obama. Within a month, Chairman Obama sent word to the full senate that the legislation should be passed.
On May 31, 2003, Senate Bill 1332 passed and specified that the “Board shall be appointed by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Senate.” The legislation reduced the number of members from 15 to 9, paving the way for the appointment of a five-bloc majority to rig the votes.
The corrupt members appointed included three doctors who contributed to Obama. Michel Malek gave Obama $10,000 on June 30, 2003 and donated $25,000 to Blagojevich on July 25, 2003. Malek also gave Obama another $500 in September 2003.
Fortunee Massuda donated $25,000 to Blagojevich on July 25, 2003, and gave a total of $2,000 to Obama on different dates. After he was appointed, Dr Imad Almanaseer contributed a total of $3,000 to Obama. Almanaseer did not give money to Blagojevich.
When the first pay-to-play scheme was put in play, and the application for approval of a new hospital was submitted, the Department of Human Services, along with four other Illinois agencies, sent recommendations that the project should be approved even though experts said the hospital was not needed.
During the trial, Rezko’s attorney presented an email exchange to the jury that hinted at Obama’s role in setting up the scheme. The exchange showed that Obama and seven other top Illinois politicians consulted on the legislation passed in 2003 and were involved in recommending the members for the board.
Matthew Pickering wrote the memo to Blagojevich’s general counsel, Susan Lichtenstein, on behalf of David Wilhelm, a former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, who headed Blagojevich’s 2002 campaign for governor.
Pickering said he and Wilhelm had “worked closely” over six months with state legislators. The memo recommended the appointees listed above and stated, “our attached recommendations reflect that involvement” with the political leaders.
The persons appointed to rig the votes, including those who contributed to Blagojevich and Obama, are cooperating in exchange for immunity or lighter prison sentences.
Feds shut down pay-to-play schemes
Only two pay-to-play schemes succeeded before the Feds swooped in and shut them all down. Blagojevich did not receive the $1.5 million from the Planning Board deal because the hospital was never built.
But Obama received $20,000 from the first kickback paid in the pension fund scheme and the straw donors used to funnel the $10,000 payments, Elie Maloof and Joseph Aramanda, also made $1,000 contributions to Obama’s failed run for Congress in 2000.
In addition, Aramanda gave $500 to Obama’s senate campaign on June 30, 2003. In the summer of 2005, Aramanda’s son landed an intern position in Obama’s Washington office.
Obama also received contributions for his senate campaign from the two persons appointed to rig the vote on the pension fund board. On June 30, 2003, Jack Carriglio contributed $1,000, and the other appointee, Anthony Abboud, donated $500 on June 30, 2003, $250 on March 5, 2004, and $1,000 on June 25, 2004.
The person chosen to funnel the kickback in a future scheme, Michael Winter, donated $3,000 to Obama on June 30, 2003.
All these people are also cooperating in exchange for immunity or lesser prison sentences but prosecutors pointed out during closing arguments that people who entered into agreements with the government are required to tell the truth or all deals are off.

A forged Hawaiian “Certification of Live Birth” printed in 2008 on a 2007 form is NOT a “Certificate of Live Birth” from 1961. Barack needs to stop fighting the lawsuits and produce his actual birth certificate (if it isn’t in fact a Kenyan document)…it ain’t that tough, is it?

I haven’t even been watching mainstream news lately because I knew there would be yet another tempest in a teapot over this ridiculous speculation about Obama being involved in political corruption with the Illinois governor. I knew I would end up throwing things at my TV set over what has become standard on TV news – abysmal reporting. We are truly at a low point in journalism. It hasn’t been this bad since The Jefferson-Adams years.
Can we please get back to substantive, properly sourced and intelligently edited news? There’s a world of trouble out there, folks, and we citizens need to be well-informed about issues that matter. All those poeple who so love to use the Kool-Aid and “Under the Bus” metaphors, please, please, please, for the love of God, just stop. The rest of us out here are very tired of you. We have a Vice President who just admitted to approving war crimes, we are seeing consequences of appalling, unregulated corporate greed that is crippling real live honest working families, a health care system that doesn’t keep us healthy, loose nukes, global hunger. And you want to waste our time calling for Rahm Emanuel’s resignation because he spoke appropriately to his boss’s governor about a senate replacement. Sometimes I despair.

This issue of the selling of the senate seat is just politics as usual in Chicago. Three people were forced out of the senate race whn Obama first ran for the seat. Do you really believe this was just some lucky coincidence that allowed Obama to run unopposed? All Chicago politicians are dirty. Some get caught earlier than others but sooner or later they are all exposed. Obama’s time is coming to face the consequences of unethical behavior.

Wrong. Obama has refused to release any hospital records.
“Proof” of his claim of Hawaiian birth would be a 1961 Hawaiian Certificate of Live Birth, signed by the doctor and witness(es).
Instead, the document he has scanned and posted is a Certification of Live Birth – a completely different document – a document commonly issued to register the birth of a child born outside the US but to parent(s) who resided in Hawaii for at least a year prior to the birth.
Here’s a comparison of Obama’s 2008 “Certification” next to an actual hospital “Certificate” — totally different documents.
Ask yourself why Barack won’t simply produce a 1961 document??

I have…..when I joined the Army and when I applied for a Top-Secret SCI clearance. It’s not hard…you just produce a copy of a genuine birth certificate that was created when you were born. What Barack has produced wouldn’t cut it.

I believe that if the entire Democratic and Republican parties were both fully exposed for their corruption, that there would still be those who have been suppressed/oppressed by them still avidly defending them as having done nothing wrong!!!! Tentacles of corruption reach far and wide, it envelops many of the seemingly innocent who are actually the guiltiest! Any other profession we can find fault in the team/leaders we support except politics. There is enough blame to go around in poth parties and their supporters! Sane American:– It is a popular misconception that American military bases overseas are deemed US soil; but in any case, your big misconception — which is a widely held misconception — is that “NATURAL BORN CITIZEN” is the same thing as “CITIZEN”. While Obama may certainly be a US “citizen” (albeit some dispute that as well), he is NOT a “NATURAL BORN CITIZEN” which is a unique prerequisite our framers put in the Constitution applying to Presidents (for example, Senators and Congressmen need only be “citizens”, not “natural born citizens”.

You had me doubting it for a short time there. I remember this coming up on one of the forums before the election and the person that was arguing against McCain finally admitted he was wrong.

Barefootboy, I AM NOT WRONG, AN ARTICLE II “natural born citizen” requires being born to both parents who are citizens (albeit the parents don’t have to be “natural born”, they could have been naturtalized, so long as they ARE citizens at the time of uour birth.

Here’s some food for thought: In more ideal circumstances, isn’t some communication here standard and even necessary???? Could it even be avoided? Guilt by association… or in this case, by phone call. I see storm clouds a brewin’ for Obama’s already planned impeachment by the Supreme Ayatollas of the US… I mean, the Republicans.

The Courts have never ruled that “they” or Obama or someone not a “natural born citizen” could be Pres. So far the Supreme Court has just denied a stay, or denied an injunction, of the Electors from voting. The merits of the case — whether Obama is a “natural born citizen” are still pending. And I can say this with certainty, IT IS AN AIRTIGHT SLAM DUNK CASE that Obama is NOT an Article II Natural Born citizen. The Supreme Court knows this — but thus far is afraid to rule — when if they don’t rule, they will have lost all credibility and our Constititional Republic would be in great peril.

No. I’ve explained this above….try reading again. Certification vs. Certificate …..totally different documents that serve different purposes….even the Hawaiian Dept. of Land and Natural Resources won’t accept the Certification but insists on the actual Certificate.

I was talking about McCain and the courts have ruled that if a service man has a child while stationed on foreign soil, that child automatically becomes a US citizen. For you information I was born in Germany and I’m a citizen. My dad was in the army and stationed there. If I run for President I could, but I may qualify by citizen ship, Just not qualified education wise.

Hawaii allowed you to have certificates of live birth filed there even if you weren’t born in Hawaii. That is precisely why the Hawaii authorities are very careful to say, yes, they’ve seen anb authentic birth certifcate on file, but won’t say whether it shows or states Obama was born in Hawaii.

So, Barack obviously held an Indonesian passport as late as 1981.

It was the Republicans that blocked the so called Clinton stimulus package that would have added billions to the debt. Republicans also altered the spending plans that Clinton campaigned on.
It was Clinton, through Robert Rubin, that gave us the mortgage based derivitives that have thrown us into the current economic crisis we face. And yes, it was Republicans that tried to take action to limit the GSE’s. They held hearings in 2002 and again in 2005 to raise the alarm over the pending risks associated with these frauds. Who opposed any changes that could have averted this mess? Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Maxine Waters, and a host of other Democrats all opposed reigning in these programs because they used them to funnel cash to their supporters.

Obama’s birth certificate was certified as valid. Newspapers of the day of Obama’s birth listed his birth as such. He is a citizen Jus Soli (by the law of the land) and Jus Sanguinis (by the law of blood), so there’s no contest on where he was born.
As for Obama’s connections to Blagojevich, the prosecutor would have charged Obama a while ago if there was any evidence of corruption. Fitzgerald hasn’t done this, so this theory of corruptions falls apart.

As someone who lives in Chicago and follows politics closely, those not familiar with the ongoing Blagojevich mess should know that he has for a couple years now been widely avoided by most Democrats. His approval rating at one point was in single digits and has been regarded as a crook by nearly everyone. Who was his #1 enemy? A Republican? Nope. His sworn enemy — and anyone in Illinois knows this — is Democratic House Majority Leader Mike Madigan. Obama has never had close ties to Blagojevich and Rahm Emanuel has also distanced himself since taking over Blagojevich’s old house seat.
The fact is that Blagojevich is so alienated from the Democratic party that his downfall isn’t the tiniest bit of good news for the GOP in state. The problem of Blago’s reelection is also with a lack of caps for campaign contributions in Illinois. If I’m not mistaken, it’s the only state without corporate and individual limitations for contributions. Let’s not forget that at least 3 Illinois governors have gone to the slammer within the last 30 years or so. Why would anyone fake his documents back then? Did he know he would go from a basketball-playing college student on to become the POTUS? No, and anyone who believes this to be the case is certifiably insane.
Second, he’s not muslim. He never was muslim, and finally, it shouldn’t matter if he was muslim. This fear-mongering over religion is just as ridiculous; I would feel terrible if my evangelical views were condemned, and they ARE in other nations. Why shouldn’t freedom to believe in the exact same God be allowed?
Fellow conservatives, find something you dislike about his policy and shout about that. Don’t create falsehoods and disseminate those. According to our faithful book of prayer, lying is considered a sin. There is no evidence implicating Barack Obama in any criminal or misguided actions, so please stop slandering him. I voted for McCain, but aside from policy differences with Obama, there’s no reason to dislike him.

The reality, however is that we liberals are all out big government, big taxes and control over people’s money. This is the only way to ensure equality – the rich need to finally pay their fair share.
This is why I voted for Obama and believe to the bottom of my heart that he will transfer money to me – I really don’t want to find a high-paying job (I’m not qualified and don’t want to work 50+ hours per week).

Actually, the Dem Congress has been in control for 4 years and created the financial mess through the following actions:
a) Pushed Fannie and Freddie to make risky loans – this actually started under Carter with the Community Reinvestment Act
b) Pushed Fannie and Freddie into the risk sub-prime market – under Clinton
c) Stopped the Repubs from reforming Fannie and Freddie – several bills were shot down
d) Allowed their Wall Street buddies to bundle the risky loans into risky derivatives – remember, Obama received the most Wall Street funding
e) The above drove the housing bubble – when it collapsed, everything went down.
All of the above doesn’t matter, however, the media says “Its Bush’s Fault” (as they usually do) and Dems have dumbed downed most of Amerika.

For you to be right, you have to assume that the Hawaii dept of records can keep a secret better than the White House who occasionally have a leak. He was not well known outside of Illinois until he started running for president. A real story : The Republican consultant accused of involvement in alleged vote-rigging in Ohio in 2004 was warned that his plane might be sabotaged before his death in a crash Friday night, according to a Cleveland CBS affiliate.
45-year-old Republican operative Michael Connell was killed when his single-passenger plane crashed Friday into a home in a suburb of Akron, Ohio (PREVIOUS REPORT). The consultant was called to testify in federal court regarding a lawsuit alleging that he took part in tampering with Ohio’s voting results in the 2004 election.
Without getting into specific details, 19 Action News reporter Blake Renault reported Sunday evening that 45-year-old Republican operative and experienced pilot had been warned not to fly his plane in the days before the crash.
“Connell…was apparently told by a close friend not to fly his plane because his plane might be sabotaged,” Renault said. “And twice in the last two months Connell, who is an experienced pilot, cancelled two flights because of suspicious problems with his plane.”
Renault called Connell’s death “untimely.”
The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are now investigating the crash. According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, no new information has been made available since the incident occurred.
Connell was the subject of a lawsuit by liberal lawyer Clifford Arnebeck, perhaps most well known for suing on behalf of 37 Ohio residents to block Bush’s electoral college victory in 2004. Arnebeck had alleged Connell’s involvement in a ploy to “flip” votes from then Democratic nominee Sen. John Kerry to then-President George W. Bush.
Connell was ordered to testify in the suit in October, and told a federal court that he had no involvement and knew of no plan to switch votes in Ohio in 2004.
The Plain Dealer made no mention at all of the suit in their article Monday.
Connell was the founder of Ohio-based New Media Communications, which created campaign Web sites for George W. Bush and John McCain.
Arnebeck warned the Justice Department that Connell’s safety was in jeopardy earlier this year. In July, he wrote an email to Attorney General Michael Mukasey, requesting witness protection for the GOP operative, which was carbon copied to Democratic Congressmen John Conyers, Jr. (D-MI) and Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), who were sympathetic to his 2004 lawsuit over Ohio’s electoral votes.
“I have informed court chambers and am in the process of informing the Ohio Attorney General’s and US Attorney’s offices in Columbus for the purpose, among other things, of seeking protection for Mr. Connell and his family from this reported attempt to intimidate a witness,” Arnebeck wrote. “Because of the serious engagement in this matter that began in 2000 of the Ohio Statehouse Press Corps, 60 Minutes, the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, C-Span and Jim VandeHei, and the public’s right to know of gross attempts to subvert the rule of law, I am forwarding this information to them, as well.”
Connell’s exploits as a top GOP IT ‘guru’ have been well documented by RAW STORY’s investigative team.
The interest in Mike Connell stems from his association with a firm called GovTech, which he had spun off from his own New Media Communications under his wife Heather Connell’s name. This may be the first president to have to seek a pardon prior to being sworn into office. And with his Chicago political background, this is sure to be the tip of the iceberg.

I listened to Obama’s news conference about Health Care reform and he sounded pretty convincing about his statements that he had no contact with the Governor Blagojevich regarding this (Senate Seat) matter.
So, one needs to ask oneself “Does this make sense?” for if true paints Obama as somewhat incompetent for at least 2 reasons. First, this is Obama’s seat, the last 2 years of his term. If I were the President-elect, I would have found it imperative to give my input if anything to safeguard the people of Illinois. The people of Illinois elected Obama in 2004 and what I assume was his campaign promises, values, etc. and I would at least want some input on any replacement. And second, as the newly elected President wouldn’t want to have as many Senators as possible who share your core political believes to make passage of your legislation easier? I would suspect he would want that from both the Illinois and New York Senate seats and would hope that he or his staff would be in touch with the Governors of Illinois and New York. It’s only an issue because of what Blagojevich was alleged to have done.
Which leads me to ask, “Is Obama lying”? He stated “no contact”. Did he mean no discussions or no “quid pro quo” discussions? And why would Blagojevich get caught on tape saying:
“that m – - – - – f – - – - -,” was willing to give nothing but “appreciation” if Blagojevich appointed Obama’s friend Valerie Jarrett.
Why would Axelrod change his story? Something makes the President-elect less than forthcoming.
