Obama to Name Schapiro head of the SEC

More announcements keep dripping in.

President-elect Obama plans to announce Mary Schapiro to be chairman of the US Securities and Exchange Commission, a Senior Democratic aide close to the transition confirms.

Obama will formally make the announcement at a morning press conference in Chicago.

Schapiro is currently head of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
