Obamas & Bidens to Arrive By Train to Kick-Off Inauguration Weekend
ABC NEWS’ SUNLEN MILLER REPORTS:
President-elect Obama and his family will be arriving in Washington, D.C. by train to kick-off inaugural events on January 17th.
Josh Earnest, Communications Director for the Presidential Inaugural Committee, confirms that on Saturday, January 17th, the Obama’s will start the inaugural weekend with an event in Philadelphia. They will then travel by train and pick up Vice President-elect Biden and his family in Wilmington, Delaware – hometown to the Biden family.
The families will travel together via train to Baltimore where they will have a whistle stop event and then proceed onward to Washington D.C. for the weekend’s festivities leading up to Inauguration Day on the 20th.
Obama Transition Team aides say that the Obama family is still expected to move to Washington much earlier – and this is not their “official” first day in the nation’s capitol. The train arrival is meant to symbolize the official kick-off of inaugural celebrations in the country.
Vice President-elect Biden is of course well known for his frequent train travel, taking the Amtrak from his home in Wilmington, Delaware to DC daily while was a U.S Senator.

Sen. DeMint: GOP Race Could Go Until Convention
Obama Avoids Questions on Contraception Rule
The Baltimore-Ohio railroad was the principle transportation for business travel between Chicago and Washington,DC fifty years ago. I remember getting on a Pullman train from Chicago about five clock in the afternoon and arriving at Union station six clock next morning. The train today maybe a little faster, but it should be fun for pres.-elect Obama to ride the overnight train to ‘ report to work’. this also symbolize that he pays attention to rail transportation like the Europeans do.

What can’t he be normal. Well, he is not normal. He is so concerned about the economy that he will take a whole day and all the passengers off a train and spend millions of dollars on himself. What a way to go.

Hate to tell you sweetie, but the first in a LONG line of the lawsuits was brought by a LIFELONG DEMOCRAT. Berg, an attorney, is not ONLY a LIFELONG DEMOCRAT, but a Hillary supporter. So YOU get over it!
The facts are THESE. There are 20 different lawsuits in various states. There are FOUR that are at the UNITED STATES SUPREME COURT.
Now, I have no idea if Obama is really eligible or not. But I DO know that the “birth certificate” he had posted on his website was a fake, a fraud.
There is absolutely ZERO information on that computer generated document.
In 1961, there were no computers. At least none that a regular person could use.
Back then, as before, a birth certificate was typed. There is ALWAYS information like what hospital the child was born at, as well as the doctor’s name.
There will also be an official seal. Some even have the baby’s feet prints.
Here is a typical early 1960′s Hawaiian birth certificate:
HERE is the standard Certificate of Live Birth used throughout the United States:
Go to Obama’s website, and you will easily see that what he has up these is complete BS.
Now again, all of this started last year (2007) and it was a LIFELONG DEMOCRAT, Philip Berg, who got this rolling.
Here is video of the lengthy press conference held at the National Press Club in DC on Monday:
This has DEMOCRAT Philip Berg, and they discuss all 4 Supreme Court cases. The best is Dr Orly Taitz, a Constitution attorney.
She comes on about 40 minuets into the press conference.
Her case was accepted at the Supreme Court on Friday, by Justice Kennedy.
Dr Orly also represents Allan Keyes in California. Keyes ran as an independent. Keyes also has 4 certified California electors on the lawsuit with him.
Here is the best argument from Dr Taitz. You will note as you watch the press conference, that Dr Taitz is from the former Soviet Union, and she is appalled by this entire thing, and how the media covers it up.
We are in the middle of a Constitutional crisis.
Here’s what’s at the Supreme Court right now.
Berg v Obama…. taken to Justice Souter. Souter demanded Obama show proof of eligibility. The deadline was December 1st. No response.
Donofrio v. Wells….Justice Clarence Thomas accepted on appeal, and took to conference on December 5th. Conference is done every Friday. This is a meeting between all 9 Justices. The case is on hold, as Lightfoot v Bowen is superior, and they will likely be combined.
Wrotnowski v. Bysiewicz…..Justice Scalia accepted on appeal, and took to conference this Friday the 12th. No word, likely Monday.
And then we have Dr Taitz’s case:
Lightfoot v Bowen….accepted by Justice Kennedy on the 12th….it has been assigned a docket number, but it hasn’t been published. A search on the SCOTUS website Monday should lead you right to it.
Here’s the thing folks. Barrack Obama has spent nearly ONE MILLION DOLLARS fighting all of these lawsuits.
Even the most rabid Obama fan should be asking themselves….Why?
It’s costs about $20 American money to get a certified copy of your original birth certificate. $20.
Now $20 is less than $1 MILLION DOLLARS, right?
Just what is Obama hiding?
You must realize folks, that if Obama doesn’t meet Article II, Section 1 of the United States Constitution, that reads in full:
“No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen Years a resident within the United States.”
If Obama doesn’t meet this absolute, no grey area, clause of the Constitution, he will be an illegal usurper. Any law he signs, any appointment he makes, will all be void, and illegal.
The military will be under NO obligation to follow his orders.
Same goes for any department head, or cabinet member.
In the history of our nation, we have never had a usurper, a poseur, to be sworn in as President. In fact, should Obama not step down, but instead take the oath of office, he will have committed a felony.
The part that angers me to NO END, is the fact that all Obama had to do, was show his REAL birth certificate a year ago, and all of this would have been done and over with!
Our nation is in peril. Thanks to the democrats and their insane social engineering with these Fannie Mae loans to unqualified borrowers, our economy is is bad shape.
Add in the fact that many nations are feeling frisky, because they know Obama is green as hell, and we are in it rather deep.
But this is all Obama’s fault. He could have fixed this a year ago.
Shame on Obama, and shame on everyone who voted for this complete fraud.

“Obama Transition Team aides say that the Obama family is still expected to move to Washington much earlier – and this is not their “official” first day in the nation’s capitol.”
He is going to fly to Philadelphia so he can take a train to Wilmington to car pool with Biden? Then they’ll go back to Washington where he was?
Then what? Take a cab from the train station? Or will there be a dozen SUV’s idling waiting for them?
I wonder if this is a regular train or a special? If its a special I bet it cost 10x more than if he just flew. Hey Sunlen- there’s the story in this press release….

“Since you are so smart, please help me understand why Obama has three teams of lawyers, and why he has spent $1 million dollars to keep from showing his birth certificate? ”
What is the source for his 3 teams of lawyers and the fees that were charged?
Oh yeah its yet another unsourced right wing myth to imply Obama has something to hide.
“The first lawsuit was brought in 2007 by a LIFELONG DEMOCRAT, and Hillary Clinton backer, attorney Phillip Berg. ”
Again you told you that?
Why it would be Berg! Who has been shown to be quite dishonest.
“As for the fake birth certificate on Obama’s website, well, how hard is it?
I mean that computer generated piece of paper has absolutely ZERO information on it.”
So you theory is because computers were not prevalent in 1961 when Obama was born, he can only have a type written BC.
So Obama’s birth certificate must be a fake because the state of Hawaii printed it out via computer!
ROFLMAO.
I have rocks for sale that keep liberals away. Hurry up and buy some for xmas!

I see by googleing around that it will in fact be a charter train. Nothing says economy like moving 250 tons of iron down the eastern seaboard for benefit of 40 people.
At a time when American families hurting its a little silly to spend all this money on a special train just to bring you back to where you started. Wasted money so he can enjoy himself speachifying.

Whether its sudden or not this has nothing to do with anyone else’s parties. In fact Bush has never sanctioned these blow out orgies. Can you defend this waste of money on its on merits?
It seems to me if ABC is going to write up a “Whee! They’re taking a Train!” story they could examine it a little.
BTW I think this birth certificate stuff really got going with TexasDarling, which is a Hillary blog. They were pissed off that the way O and the press had treated her. I havent seen a mainline conservative site such as footballs, Hot Air, Volokh, or the corner pump this thing up.

ROFLMAO.
Bush’s 2nd inauguration was estimated to cost $40M.
That’s on top of the estimated $30M that was spent on his 1st.
It seems to me if ABC is going to write up a “Whee! They’re taking a Train!” story they could examine it a little.
“BTW I think this birth certificate stuff really got going with TexasDarling, which is a Hillary blog. They were pissed off that the way O and the press had treated her.”
TexasDarling the racist right winger pretending to be a Hillary supporter?
She’s a democrat as much as I am the pope.
Its also big at free republic and hannity’s forum.
“I havent seen a mainline conservative site such as footballs, Hot Air, Volokh, or the corner pump this thing up.”
That’s because mainline conservatives are embarrassed by it.
Right wingers? They love it.

You people are evil and mean. All of the money that Bush wasted on this war, it bothers you that Obama is humble enough to ride on a train. And instead of being so worried about his birth certificate, why don’t you spend time helping people and acting half way decent?

Actually, I think that’s kind of cool. Nice PR for mass transit, not that the train he will be taking is your mass transit type train. At least he won’t be thousands of feet in the air. Not very exciting for kids to wave at a plane overhead as it is to wave at a train.

If this shoe throwing at the president will be a new fad, President Obama will have to make special preparations for his news conferences. One way would be,that all news reporters take off they’r shoes, and leave they’r shoes outside at the door. Or build glass protected podiums, that would stop any shoe thrown at it.

“Bush’s 2nd inauguration was estimated to cost $40M. ”
But those were private donations for which the Democrats complained and griped at the time. Are you telling me now that those protests werent sincere and were just partisan political opportunism?
If Obama manages to $40M it will be a small miracle of accounting. Flying out on a plane just to head back in an wastefully private train at a time When American Families are Suffering [tm]!

The only interesting part of this press release is that Obama is flying out to a city for purpose of taking a private chartered train back to Washington. I am pointing out how out of concert that is with the current times and Obama’s Green Team announcement the same day.
How much is Obama spending on this coronation, including the train ride to nowhere, $70, $80 , $100 million? Its a purposeless waste of money just because the Lord High Arugula a stately pleasure dome decreed. I know the guy has father issues but does he have to take it out on the entire country’s pocket book?

Yes this is excellent publicity for anyone who is interested in chartering a private train and having Amtrak clear the tracks for it to run to their schedule.
And it highlights the environmental savings of moving a 250 ton train around the Eastern seaboard so he can get into idling SUV’s to drive back to where he started.

Why do some people predict the worst of this new presidency. Most Americans are hopeful. There are no guarantees in life…God knows the last eight years have not given us much. So why don’t we just be patient and give the new guy a chance. So far, he is ahead of the game with all the good picks he has made. He knows we need to progress in energy, science, education, jobs. If he achieves only half of these things he will still be a good president. No one can predict what he will do, given the situation he is stepping into. By the way, I am a republican who is hopeful…not divisive.

“Its a purposeless waste of money just because the Lord High Arugula a stately pleasure dome decreed.”
You seemed fine and dandy with Bush blowing $40M as you claimed it was private donations. What do we call that?
Oh yeah hypocrisy.
“I know the guy has father issues but does he have to take it out on the entire country’s pocket book?”
The country doesn’t pay all that much for inaugurations beyond police & cleanup. Most of the tab is picked up by private donations.

If it wasn’t the inauguration for the first ever black US President, I’d be willing to guarantee that it wouldn’t be this big. But this is a celebration that has been a long time coming and one that the country deserves.
And the train is a brilliant way of keeping even more people out of the city. That’s why he’s doing it, to spread people out.

Seriously, the whining has gotten way out of hand. He’s the first black president…shut up and let the country celebrate it. God knows, we could use something to celebrate after the last 8 years. It’s not for him. It’s for us. And as I said before, which you either couldn’t be bothered to read or disregarded…it’s not a train to nowhere, it’s essentially an extension of the parade, to ease some of the logistical burden on the District. People who would otherwise come into the city, further overwhelming resources, will be content to view the train instead. It’s a fantastic idea and if you’d take your blinders off, you’d see that.
