Obama’s Investigation Deems “No Inappropriate Discussions” with Blago Staff, But Questions Still Lurk

ABC NEWS’ SUNLEN MILLER REPORTS:

The Obama Transition Team has completed their internal investigation – promised last week by President-elect Barack Obama – detailing any contact their staff had with members of Illinois Gov Blagoveich

"That review affirmed the public statements of the President-elect that he had no contact with the governor or his staff, and that the President-elect’s staff was not involved in inappropriate discussions with the governor or his staff over the selection of his successor as US Senator,” Obama Transition Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer said in a paper statement.

Greg Craig, the Transition Team’s Counsel, communicated the findings to the US Attorney’s office.

But don’t hold your breath for the investigation to be made public soon.

“The US Attorney’s office requested the public release of the Transition review be deferred until the week of December 22, in order not to impede their investigation of the governor,” Pfeiffer says in a statement, “The Transition has agreed to this revised timetable for release.”

Obama and his family will be in Hawaii on vacation during the time of the investigation’s release.

The Obama Transition Team’s statement today certainly backs up President-elect Obama said last week at a press conference in Chicago. But there’s a lot that the statement doesn’t say – and is just as careful in its wording as Mr. Obama was last week.

The review found that there were not “inappropriate discussions” – so what discussions were the appropriate ones?

It is still not clear who on the Obama Transition Team was communicating with Blagojevich’s office – who communicated the Obama-approved Senate replacement list to the governor, and who gave Blagojevich’s office the idea that they wouldn’t participate in any “pay to play scheme.”

This is silly.
Why conduct your own investigation if you do not release it?
That’s something dishonest right wingers like Sarah Palin do.

Ooooh, questions “lurk”. Questions like who was it who gave Blago the impression they wouldn’t participate in “pay for play”. Just WHO IS this shady, lurking character who refused to engage in wrongdoing. WE NEED TO KNOW! So we can castigate him for not revealing himself sooner as the non-wrongdoer! For shame!

Posted by: Lisa | December 15, 2008, 4:06 pm 4:06 pm

Adam,
You’re one of the confused. It hasn’t gone from “no contact” to “no innappropriate discussions”. Obama always said HE had no contact, and that continues to be the case. He NEVER claimed no one on his staff had ANY contact. To the contrary, this whole exercise over the past few days was about gathering info about exactly what that contact was. Ergo, there was contact. That was never denied. And there’s nothing WRONG with contact. Sheesh. Do try to keep up.

Posted by: Lisa | December 15, 2008, 4:08 pm 4:08 pm

It depends on the meaning of is … or “inappropriate” — According to who exactly?
Everyone know Obama lies and is crooked, isn’t very good at either.

Regardless of who gets appointed to the vacant Senate seats resulting from Obama’s election as President, if the individual doesn’t do the job and doesn’t perform commendably in their position, I can only hope their constituents from the State they represent will defeat the Senator when elections roll around. That’s fair, isn’t it? All you cynics who keep screaming “pay off for supporting Obama” should just get a grip. There’s nothing illegal about someone getting appointed by the Governor of the State with a vacancy. Can’t you get that through your thick skulls?? The position should not be filled through bribery, and any sane Governor knows that. Blago doesn’t appear to be sane, and we know how that mess is going to turn out–Special Election, so be it.

I’m surprised that Obama going to Hawaii for vacation. You’d think Obama would postpone his vacation out of respect for people who have lost their homes and jobs, and health insurance, etc. in this bad economy.

Yesterday’s news: “No contact.”
Today’s news: “No inappropriate discussions.”
Tomorrow’s news: “Nothing illegal happened, just go and try to prove it!”
Day after tomorrow’s news: “It is with a heavy heart that I accept Rahm’s resignation. He was acting alone like some sort of modern day G. Gordon Liddy. I knew absolutely nothing about Rahm’s actions.”

What does someone going on vacation have anything to do with what’s going on in America. How about tell Bush to stop spending American’s tax money flying around the world to have shoes thrown at him as he continues to try and dupe the American people to believe this was a success and that it was necessary.
Obama has 4 years to deal with getting this country out of the ditch. He needs all the rest he can get right now.

Concerned in OH does not like anything at all connected with or to Obama. I am sure Concerned in OH found something to criticize Obama about when he went to see his dying Grandmother, such as “how dare he go to Hawaii in the middle of a campaign.”

Posted by: William J. LePetomane | December 15, 2008, 4:47 pm 4:47 pm

Obviously they need another week to get rid of the last pieces of evidence. Seriously, Mr. Obama knows Rahm Emanuel was on the conversation recorded by the special prosecutor. That is inappropriate contact unless Mr. Emanuel went to the authorities to report the attempt to bribe him. As is often the case, the attempt to cover up misdeeds ends up costing politicans more dearly than just admitting and dealing with the initial ethical lapse.
Mr. Obama should just say, “that is not the Rahm Emanuel that I knew” and send him packing.
The next scandal Mr. Obama will have to deal with concerns his secretary of commerce, Bill Richardson. A grand jury has been seated to determine if he is guilty of influence peddling in his dealing with a bond dealer that has committed major fraud in Alabama and possibly in New Mexico under his administration. Sure wish the screening was a little better. These people haven’t even been tempted by the corruption of the national political scene and they are already acting like they are above the law.

Couple of points—-1) Don’t you just love it when the people under the microscope say— nope wasn’t me, I didn’t do anything wrong! And provide no details. You know, just like today when Hot Rod’s lawyer, Genson, began to profess— “It’s like a snowball running down the hill and it’s gotten really, really large. It’s an avalanche now,” “And… I think the case, the case that I’ve seen so far is significantly exaggerated. It’s just, it’s not what people think it is.”
2) So much for Transparency— I guess as long as you can pawn it off onto someone else, lack of transparency is OK!– “But I was told I can’t say anything, it needs to be a secret!”
3) It will continue to be a political mess and time consuming distraction until such time that the public is privy to A)Obama’s version of the story and B)The Feds version of the story!—– No, wait—- that’s when it will really get going, because undoubtedly, the two won’t match! Just like Hot Rod’s lawyer, Genson, warned today, “If I’m trying the case, it’s going to be a fight.”
“Impeachment and criminal proceedings?” asked a reporter.
“Impeachment and criminal proceedings,” Genson replied.

But don’t hold your breath for the investigation to be made public soon.
Oh, certainly not, not with an administration as committed to opaqueness as Obama’s is.
The evolving message from Obama on this is amusing. If he’d come out at first saying “of course we had some discussions with the Governor about whom he might appoint to the vacant seat,” that would have been expected and probably made the story a non-starter as far as Obama was concerned.
By denying any contact (when such contact would be appropriate and expected), Obama opened himself up to all this speculation. Some people might think that he’s involved in some sort of corruption related to this; his denial does kind of appear like a six year old, crumbs on his shirt, saying that he hadn’t been in the cookie jar.
Me? I just think it demonstrates a failure to lead. Instead of getting in front of the issue, he’s just exclaiming “I didn’t do it!”

Posted by: malclave | December 15, 2008, 5:06 pm 5:06 pm

Imagine that! Obama’s team investigates itself and finds no wrong doing and the media says, “Oh, okay – we believe you.”
Wonder if they will have the same reaction if Bush investigates himself and says, “Nothing wrong here!”

people… your messiah is not going to change the world… Iran is not going to stop making WMD. explain to me, why is it unacceptable to be in Iraq but it is acceptable to be in Afghanistan? i mean both are wars, they cost us money and people die… i guess the difference is, if it a dem led war, that is acceptable….

Lisa, he first has to do something before he gets a legimate approval rating. Omentum, the difference between your assessment and reality is he would do that, but not in public.
As of an hour ago Illinois Speaker of the House Mike Madigan, who wants his daughter to be governor-you know Lisa who was on Meet The Press yesterday, is going to proceed with impeachment hearings in Springfield. This is the political version of family feud. Now technically they are not supposed to bring up anything about the “on-going” investigation. So it begs the question, how can all the evidence not be put forward if the reason you’re impeaching is the sale of the senate seat?
Blagojevich’s high powered lawyer is quoted as saying he can’t wait. This just might come back to bite ole Rahm. Would be interesting to hear the tapes.

Nationwide Investigation
The investigation reflects another front in nationwide efforts by U.S. prosecutors to investigate so-called pay- to-play in the municipal bond market. The term refers to banks and advisers who make political contributions or personal gifts to public officials in return for fee-paying financing assignments.
“The Governor’s Office is aware of questions surrounding some financial transactions at the New Mexico Finance Authority,” said Gilbert Gallegos, a spokesman for Richardson. “We expect any state agency that is approached with federal officials” to cooperate, he said, declining to comment further. Calls to Richardson were directed to Gallegos.
Darrin Jones, an FBI spokesman, declined to comment, as did Norman Cairns, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s office in Albuquerque. CDR’s lawyer, Richard Beckler, a partner at Howrey LLP in Washington, declined to comment. Obama spokeswoman Jen Psaki declined to comment.

I still want to know why the investigator stopped his investigation BEFORE anyone offered to actually make a bribe. We know Jesse Jackson Jr. was close to making a deal. We also know that Rahm Emanuel was on the conference call where bribes were solicited. Why stop it so soon? If I were Blago I would hang on to the office because it is unlikely he could be convicted just because he made some stupid statements.
If the investigator stopped the investigation to protect Obama then he should be replaced. If there was communication between the Obama campaign and the office of the investigator then that communication should be disclosed.

Obama is going to close a lot of business and we will see high number of unemployment because companies will not be able to afford to be “green”. besides, i hope that the big 3 gets no bailout money and that they file bankruptcy and that we get rid of some union rules (keep the workers but get rid of the rules/regulations).. and i hope card check never passes! the liberals have shown themselves to be increasingly intolerant and sadly, angry people.. even pew research did a study and survey and they concluded that republicans are typically more happier people (we work, we respect government, we respect the rights of other people-except if you break the law, then you do the time! and we protest in peace….)

Yes because torturing and killing people in the name of our country is the same as a shoppping spree by window dressing.
A perfect illustration of right wing priorities.
Torture – ok.
Good looking half wit as VP – ok.
Obama being from the same state & political party as Blago? Why that is the end of the world.

Let’s face it. The Far-right nutjobs would accept nothing less than Obama saying he not only was in bed the Blago, but that he was getting a cut of the take. Didn’t anyone read Fitzgerald’s transcript that quoted the governor complaining Obama wouldn’t give him anything except appreciation? Sounds like the governor exonerated Obama.

“well we have clinton-D, to thank for letting Bin Laden get away.”
It would seem Clinton was trying to get Bin Laden.
OTH, Bush ignored him, ignored warnings of a imminent attack then hid like a little girl as thousands of Americans died.
Later he got “tough” and and from behind a podium told Iraqi insurgents to bring it on, and they did.
“History will judge him as one of the most inexperienced president elected..”
Actually you should hope Bush gets such a distinction. Perhaps it would soften the blow if the worst President in history was such because he was the most inexperienced.
“Iran is still building up their weapons and close to completing WMD.”
Gee where have I heard this before?
Oh yea from right wingers about Iraq when it had no WMD nor was it building any.

This is what happens with Fitzgerald investigations.
In the Plame investigation, Fitzgerald told Armitage (according to Armitage) not to tell anybody else in the Bush administration he was Novak’s first source.
By doing that, Fitzgerald could put pressure on other Bush admin officials he believed were lying, with no public pressure to actually investigate Armitage (who, it turned out, had been lying to Fitzgerald).
Fitzgerald went to the press and said Blagojevich would make Lincoln turn over in his grave. The FBI guy at the same press conference says Illinois is in the running for the most corrupt state.
So they can say things like that, but Obama isn’t supposed to release details about who on his own team talked to Blagojevich?
What a sham.

Obviously the Obama camp saying “we checked it out and we didn’t do anything wrong” doesn’t exonerate anyone.
Just as obviously, however, anyone else saying that they did do something wrong without any evidence doesn’t implicate anyone, either.
For better or for worse, Obama will be with us for the next four years. If he or people in his camp received bribe requests and didn’t report it, there’s no need to argue about it with such certainty right this instant.

The Obama transition team is cooperating with Fitzgerald’s Office and is withholding publication of its internal report at his request so that it doesn’t interfere with his investigation. What is it that some of you don’t get about this?
I’m beginning to wonder what country some of you live in. Blago hasn’t been found guilty of anything at this point. This is America, we don’t try people via paranoid conjecture and/or salacious gossip in the press or through the blogosphere. We do it in courts of law.

under Clinton, more Iraqi’s died under Saddam reign of terror..his own sons were well known torturer and rapists.
unfortunately war has consequences and that is death. a good friend of mine, a marine (4 times he has gone to iraq-his job is to dismantle bombs) said that the Iraqis dying are results of culture war, unfortunately Americans sometimes get stuck in the middle.
our prisoners in gitmo receive the best medical care and treatment, one recently released and captured iraq or Taliban leader was released from gitmo and took up arms to bomb and shot us Americans again. so is your answer to release terrorist so they can bomb us again? now we have Afghanistan, how do you suggest we resolve this without more deaths?

we need more accountability in school, you liberals want to take out accountability for fear it would offend children’s feeling. now i am not advocating beating, our children in school are soooo spoiled and soo spoiled and behind in education, teachers are afraid to actually discipline kids without being “sued” which the ACLU (liberal run) will happily do, i didnt see them rushing to help joe “the plumber” when his rights were violated. i believe in equal rights for religion and freedom of speech but i do not condone angry liberals posting up ugly words about atheist and saying believing in santa means you will go to hell.. for children, believing in santa is the best thing in the world. why subject young children to that kind of hateful ugly words.

Posted by: GoPalin | December 15, 2008, 6:18 pm 6:18 pm

“under Clinton, more Iraqi’s died under Saddam reign of terror”
Actually many died because of our sanctions and how they ultimately were applied. Saddam killed far more of his own people during the Reagan administration. When Rummy and he were buddies.
Yes. So how do the horrific crimes of those two somehow make our torture of Iraqis better?
Would that not make it even worse and put us on par with those monsters?
“unfortunately war has consequences and that is death.”
Which is why war should be an action of last resort.
Iraq did not attack us and was no threat to us.
This was a war of choice.
“a good friend of mine, a marine (4 times he has gone to iraq-his job is to dismantle bombs) said that the Iraqis dying are results of culture war, unfortunately Americans sometimes get stuck in the middle.”
This simplistic treatment of what happened in Iraq is too telling.
No wonder you think global warming isn’t real because its cold outside.
“so is your answer to release terrorist so they can bomb us again?”
If we can’t show they have committed a crime, we should not hold them.
The alternative is holding them indefinitely with no charges and that is about as UnAmerican as one can get.
We fought several wars over that one.
“now we have Afghanistan, how do you suggest we resolve this without more deaths?”
Its not about death or atrocity free war.
Its about having the judgment to know which wars to get involved in and to what extent.
Bush had the country’s support and patience to deal with Al Queda in Afghanistan.
They were the ones who attacked us
They are the ones that should have been our sole focus.
Instead Bush and the right wing treated 9/11 as carte blanche to attack whoever they felt like.

If they can make money by rolling back labor laws that UNIONS fought for to protect the worker, they would do it in a heartbeat. Are you saying that only Republicans like to screw over the little guy? If you want to return to the days where there wasn’t insurance, if you couldn’t work, you starved and businesses used and abused workers, go for it. I don’t want to. please stop using Jake’s blog as a cover for your silly series on the Blago. [Kinda tired of this sub-standard reporting of SM. I thought it was Jake’s reporting but have now spotted a trend where all the silliness bears your name. “But Questions Still Lurk” does not a story make. Go out and find the answers if the questions lurk or wait like an adult like the rest of us. Perhaps the US Attorney’s office will consider putting the investigation on hold or even suspending it altogether so that they can give your lazy self all the easy information that you are accustomed to.

Ryan C —Said “The IAEA says its inspections have found that Iran is not building nukes or diverting nuclear material into such program.”
You need to read ALL of the report, not just the part you like!
Direct from the IAEA web site —IAEA Director General Starement November 2008
The Agency has been able to continue to verify the non-diversion of declared nuclear material in Iran. However, Iran has not implemented the Additional Protocol, which is essential – as in all countries – for the Agency to provide credible assurance about the absence of undeclared nuclear material and activities. Iran needs to clarify as a matter of transparency the extent to which information contained in the relevant documentation is factually correct and where, in its view, such information may have been modified or relates to non nuclear purposes. Iran should also provide the Agency with substantive information to support its statements and provide access to relevant documentation and individuals. Unless Iran provides such transparency, and implements the Additional Protocol, the Agency will not be able to make progress in its efforts to provide credible assurance about the absence of undeclared nuclear material and activities in Iran.

Catherine-
i believe both sides do want to improve the quality of american lives, i just think that we have let congress get to corrupt and they stop working for us. i do not want to nationalize our companies. i do not want to put unfair restrictions on small companies if they are forced to unionized (that’s what card check is for) and they can not afford that. there are pros and cons of unions. we might have to give up our vacations pay and start paying for our own insurance if companies are forced to become “green” and can not afford it. as for the UAW- they have paid 1.1 or 1.4 million to our senators who voted for the bailout. one reason why some repubilcans did not vote for it because they know it benefits only the democrats. even Harry Reid (D and senate majority leader) voted NO (the hypocrisy)and so did 7 other democrat senators. see how the media/UAW put all the blame on the republicans. we need to start holding our congress accountable, not just because they are democrats (vote new one in) i for one do not want barney frank, chris dodd, pelosi, rankel touching my money and making decisions for me, they need to earn that right and trust and they have violated it.

“i do not want to put unfair restrictions on small companies if they are forced to unionized (that’s what card check is for) and they can not afford that.”
This is what happens when you parrot things you do not know the background on.
Card check is a method of organizing unions by majority vote. Its like signing a petition for a union vs a secret ballot board certified election. And its been legal as a method of unionization for decades. The problem is that companies can ignore this unionization.
What the new laws do is make the companies recognize card check as a valid means of unionization. The latest version also preserves the secret ballot option should employees so choose.

What the new laws do is make the companies recognize card check as a valid means of unionization. The latest version also preserves the secret ballot option should employees so choose–
so Ryan- what happens if the company can not afford to unionize? what should happen to them? not only that, once in the union, your vote is not a secret anymore. union officals will know who you voted for, so your rights get thrown out the window.

Posted by: GoPalin | December 15, 2008, 6:51 pm 6:51 pm

“what happens if the company can not afford to unionize?”
What cost does a company occur from unionizing beyond having to negotiate with a single body?
“not only that, once in the union, your vote is not a secret anymore. union officals will know who you voted for, so your rights get thrown out the window.”
Employees can keep the old secret ballot system if they choose to.
All that changes is that companies will be have to recognize unions that come about by card check.
You do know that union are formed now using card check don’t you?

Catherine — actually, the unions are no longer of any use in the areas that you express conern about. They have effectively outlived their usefullness and have become a burden on society. Now– OSHA has responsibilty for requlating safety and health standards in the workplace and The Department of Labor regulates and enforces all laws relative to employment, working hours, child labor, etc., etc.

What cost does a company occur from unionizing beyond having to negotiate with a single body
look at the big 3, the UAW is killing them. people can protest and when they do, companies can not hire replacements (violation of union rules, only union people) and if they do not have employees, they loose money. on top of that they have to pay union fees etc, it is not as easy and simple and cheap as you would think…
Employees can keep the old secret ballot system if they choose to.
if they CHOOSE too? more like, they are forced to. i bet more people voted in secret when voting yes to prop 8, look what happened, the people who voted yes are being harassed! now this does not mean that i am against gay marriage, i am making a point.

Ryan C — so Ryan, once again, you need to be able to read in order to play the game! Read it all, not just the parts you like!

“Employees can keep the old secret ballot system if they choose to. ”
Excellent idea! Why do we even hold our political elections by that expensive creaky old dusty secret ballot system that you grandfather used to uses (LOL- remember those pictures of his sideburns!) when there is this brand new shiny show of hands? Secret ballot is for squares, man.
If signing or not signing a piece of paper thrust in front of you by a ‘union organizer’ is good enough for you to keep the job that 100% of your family’s income depends on then surely its good electing our friendly pols.

“look at the big 3, the UAW is killing them.”
Except it isn’t. The Big 3′s problems stem from crappy designs and a glut of SUVs.
“people can protest and when they do, companies can not hire replacements (violation of union rules, only union people)”
Protest? Do you mean strike? Do you have any idea what you are talking about?
“and if they do not have employees, they loose money. on top of that they have to pay union fees etc, it is not as easy and simple and cheap as you would think…”
Companies do not pay union fees. Those who belong to the union do.
“Employees can keep the old secret ballot system if they choose to.
if they CHOOSE too? more like, they are forced to.”
How would having the option of card check or secret ballot amount to forcing someone?
“i bet more people voted in secret when voting yes to prop 8, look what happened, the people who voted yes are being harassed!”
Prop 8 was voted in secret and no one can know your vote unless you tell them.
People who donated to Prop 8 got an earful.
“now this does not mean that i am against gay marriage, i am making a point.”
Your point is worthless as you do not know what you are talking about.

ROFLMAO.
I can’t believe right wingers are claiming people’s jobs will be in jeopardy from the union vs the company firing them for joining a union.
But then again in the right winger world torture is an American value and Saddam masterminded 9/11.

Roscoe,
Could you point to the section of the IAEA report that says Iran is about to complete is WMD program as your fellow right winger asserted?

See, all you that called for Obama to resign, should be ashamed of yourselves!
Obama held off due to the US Attorney’s oOffice requesting him to do so, as it is/was an IVESTIGATION…as he stated from the get go!
The full report will be released after the US Attorney’s case is well under way!
While there are still questions…keep in mind…this is still an on-going investigation. All will come to light. Obama can’t renig on TRANSPARENCY!!!

“Our whole campaign was about changing that view of politics,” Mr. Obama said.
that is straight from obama’s mouth and i am holding him to that.if he keeps rahm as chief of staff ,i guess all he said during election is nothing but words to get elected!he is no different with the others in capitol.a liar, corrupt and no good politician!

GoPalin,
“What cost does a company occur from unionizing beyond having to negotiate with a single body”
Wrong question. The better question is how much would taxpayers have to pay if the unions didn’t protect employees from slavery/slave wages?
Suppose YOU (non-union person) could depend on NOT losing your job for doing it? Most employees cannot count on that because employers can replace (legally) any U.S. citizen employee for any reason.
Union employees have stood up for their rights. There should be more unions, not less.

Who’s tired of Republicans’ hate and manipulations?
I am tired. I wish they would start looking at themselves instead of pointing outside.
No one in History has been as corrupt and liar as the Republicans in power.
War, loss of jobs, lack of work, crooks all around.
Republicans give US a break.

Hey Richard,
Tranparency is a real-time concept. We dont wait until the auto companies have used up all the money and then look for transparency after the fact.
That has already been the biggest problem with that dwilding pile of $700B.
Transparency is NOW. These are Obama’s big things, so why is any of this not being done in the open to start with????
There is nothing wrong with Obama’s Chief of Staff discussing possible appointees to the Pres.-Elects vacant senate seat. It has been done before.
-In December 1960, having just been elected president, John F. Kennedy resigned from the Senate. At John Kennedy’s request, Gov. Foster Furcolo appointed Kennedy family friend Benjamin Smith of Gloucester to the seat. Smith agreed not to run in the next general election in 1962, when Ted would be 30 and constitutionally old enough to serve in the Senate. Ted Kennedy won the election in 1962 — and every election for the seat since.
- Gov. Ned McWherter of Tennessee appointed his 65-year-old chief aide, Harlan Mathews, to fill the Senate seat being vacated by Vice President-elect Al Gore.
This is listing off all the appointed senators since 1913.

I agree there’s nothing wrong with Obama or his staff providing a list of names of qualified candidates to Blago. Obama would be derelict in his duty to his party if he failed to do so. That’s standard practice. Getting involved in a bidding war is a completely different matter.
The real question is: did Emmanuel have any idea that Blago was selling Obama’s seat and if so, did he fail to report it to the FBI? Not just Emmanuel, did anyone who was approached by Blago simply clam up and fail to report a crime of attempted bribery to the Feds for fear of being ostracized from the Chicago political scene? Failure to report a crime as a government official is a crime in and of itself. It will be interesting to see where this all goes.
When Blago says, “I can’t wait to talk to you all”, when addressing the press you have to think he’s going to name names, who was playing ball and who didn’t play but remained mute. Obama will come out unscathed because he’s too smart to get too close but Emannuel might have to take one for the team depending on what else is on those tapes.

Sunlen Miller writes:
““The US Attorney’s office requested the public release of the Transition review be deferred until the week of December 22, in order not to impede their investigation of the governor,” Pfeiffer says in a statement, “The Transition has agreed to this revised timetable for release.””
You gotta wonder who’s actually “agreed” to WHOSE timetable — by deferring whatever words these hacks release until Christmas — when the gravid gentlemen of the press are drunk and jolly — most likely will mean NO discussion EVER.
Instead, the peons who’re still bothering to read will be treated to a lot MORE pap about Caroline Kennedy’s deigning to ascend to the Senate, along with breathless updates on Barky-and-Biden’s railroading to Washington.
Meanwhile, Kerry steps into Biden’s old show-boat shoes. Enough “change”, already.

“No one in History has been as corrupt and liar as the Republicans in power.”
Tammany Hall? Cook County Machine? Dan Rostenkowski?
Hell, Barney Frank was literally in bed with Herb Moses of Freddie Mac, the organization he was supposed to be regulating.

“Obama and his family will be in Hawaii on vacation during the time of the investigation’s release.”
Of COURSE they will.
B-b-but wasn’t it supposedly vital, just last week, that the suddenly vacation-happy post-partisans should be given early occupancy of Blair House, to tend to the kiddies’ uh educational requirements??
“Obama’s drama’s wearing thin,
despite the birthday suit he’s in.”

Some big questions still unanswered:
What is the doctor’s name that delivered Obama in 1961? Where did this event occur–at what hospital? Why does the MSM never cease to lie about anything to do with Obama? When will this speculation end (when will Obama answer honestly any of these questions)?

“B-b-but wasn’t it supposedly vital, just last week, that the suddenly vacation-happy post-partisans should be given early occupancy of Blair House, to tend to the kiddies’ uh educational requirements??”
The early start was so the kids could start the new school session when Winter break ends Jan 4th.
You even made an obnoxious comment on the political punch article stating that very fact.

Common Sense: The union’s are for themselves and themselves only. That’s why they earn big salaries because of all the union dues they get from the employees. Vacation’s and expensive auto’s. I agree with Wal-Mart when they said no union’s for their companies or they will close shop. I neve did like unions. I am glad the company whose worker’s finally will get about $6,000 each filed for bankruptcy. Now, the worker’s are out of work and $6,000 will not go far. Since thousand’s are being laid off their jobs those worker’s will also suffer. Plus no more money for the union when company’s close. That’s the bad news for the unions.

I read where Jesse Jackson, Jr. is the big snitch of the democrat party. Other names will come out along with the Gov. Of course, the Feds won’t investigate Jackson, he’s their lookout for corruption. In this world it’s one hand washes the other. And did I just read about Richardson and his favors? Didn’t Pelosi, Reid and Dean grant favors to the superdelegates to switch their vote to Obama instead of Hillary that’s why she lost. Obama is no saint, he just knows how to hide it better than other’s.
