Reid Urges Patterson to Pick Caroline Kennedy
EmailABC News’ Teddy Davis Reports: In an interview set to air Tuesday evening on Nevada television, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid reveals that he is urging New York Gov. David Paterson to appoint the daughter of former President John F. Kennedy to the seat being vacated by Hillary Clinton.
“I think Caroline Kennedy would be perfect,” Reid told Jon Ralston during a Tuesday morning taping of “Face to Face.”
“So, are you going to call the governor of New York and say, “’She’s fine in my book?’” asked Ralston.
“I already have,” replied Reid.
A Democrat familiar with the call tells ABC News that the call between Reid and Paterson took place last week.
Caroline Kennedy made her interest in replacing Clinton known publicly on Monday.
Here is the full exchange between Reid and Ralston on “Face to Face”:
REID: “She’s 52 years old. I’ve spoken to her. She was part of a vetting process for vice presidential choices for Obama. She’s lived in government and politics her whole life. I think it would be a tremendous thing….We have a lot of stars from New York. Bobby Kennedy. Hillary Clinton. I think Caroline Kennedy would be perfect. “
RALSTON: “So, are you going to call the governor of New York and say, “’She’s fine in my book?’”
REID: “I already have."

What the heck does Harry Reid have to do with who Patterson elects for NY? Just because the Kennedy family thinks that they’re entitled is no reason to put an inexperienced name in a box.

I have always considered Caroline Kennedy to be above the typical “Kennedy fray”; but with her strong arming her way into Hillary’s Senate seat, a lot of her class and luster have disapaited. I live and work in UpState NY, Saratoga Country, where Rep. Kirsten Gilibrand is a force of nature in her quest to help this country’s often forgotten military vets. She has worked long and hard for years to help NY State and succeeded at every mission. So, Caroline, how do you explain and justify this shameless power grab to your children? “Well, you see kids, Mommy just REALLY REALLY wants to be NY Senator, like your Uncle Bobby!!!” Pretty sad.

Reid is so corrupt who really cares what he thinks. He got his kick back and now is acting like he’s honest. At lease Caroline would be an honest Senator and we have many left. Pelosi and Reid were in the Bush Administration’s back pocket and better hope Eric Holder doesn’t get to their crimes right away. Pelosi’s husband was given a contract by Bush for Pelosi to say these words Impeachment is off the table and we should pray for the President. I hope that money was worth it. Reid with is land deal kick back is acting like he can’t remember now.

There is a good scenario developing here. Hillary Clinton accepts Secretary of State position and gives up her seat in the Senate. Caroline Kennedy takes Hillary’s place in the Senate. Hillary is given difficult task as Secretary of State like peace in the Middle East. Hillary fails because she only speaks for Israel. Hillary is booted out as Secretary of State and cannot get her position in the Senate back because Caroline is so popular and is entrenched in her new position. Goodbye Hillary forever.

Caroline Kennedy has always been a student of Constitutional law, and, imho, considering where our Constitution has been relegated today, it’s exactly what we need in the Senate; someone who understands the basic precepts of our country.

What a joke. Caroline Kennedy has no experience to be a US Senator. She has never done anything except be born with the last name Kennedy. We got rid of the Divine right of Kings when Geo III was kicked out of here. Andrew Coumo is far more qualified for the position. If Patterson wants to make a mockery out of the appointment with Kennedy, why not just appoint Charlie Rangel?
