A Super Bowl Party That’s Bipartisan In Every Sense
A Democrat tells ABC News that invited guests at President Obama’s White House Super Bowl Party this Sunday include Rep. Mike Castle, R-Del., Sen. Bob Casey, D-Penn., Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., Rep. Trent Franks, R-Ariz., Rep. Artur Davis, D-Ala., and friends of the Obamas from Chicago.
That means not only that both Democrats and Republicans will be drinking beer and popcorn at Casa Blanca, but both Steelers fans (Casey, President Obama) and those backing the Cards (Franks).

Santorum: Money Will Not Defeat Obama, Ideas Will
Rick Santorum's Full Speech at CPAC 2012
Ah this is what he meant by bi-partisan. Whew, thought it was going to be with bills in congress. He’s off the hook.

Jake- I’m sure you think your use of “casa blanca” is the height of wit and sophistication.
I think it is offensive. Show a little respect for the Whitehouse, please. No matter who the current occupant is.

hmm, the other night, he had a cocktail party.. now, a superbowl party?
Who is paying for these parties? Us or him?

he is, for the job we hired (elected) him to do, he does get a pay check, and he can use it to do with it as he and his family see fit.
If you are a football fan, will you have people over? or be going to someones house?
Bush had his texas friends (both of them) in the white house all the time.
and you did even know that, because the bushes said it was none of your business.

It’s fact that all food/social parties come out of the Presidents salary. You can read that almost anywhere. The State dinners, etc are different. Can’t you let the guy enjoy the White House the way it was meant to be? I think it’s great to have people using it for other things besides smokey rooms to underscore the America we once knew.

Obama is one of the few presidents that has actually picked his favorite in the Super Bowl. None of this wishy-washy “may the best team win” for him. Go STEELERS get the 6-pack!!!

ajax: “Who is paying for these parties? Us or him?”
He is, and it’s pretty impressive that (unlike previous presidents, including Clinton) Obama is clearly giving his off-hours to his job. From the sound of it, this is a work meeting in front of a TV. But from the sound of it, you are so eager for Obama to fail you don’t care about what that would mean for our nation.

“It’s fact that all food/social parties come out of the Presidents salary. You can read that almost anywhere.”
Where can you read that? If thats the policy, it doesnt sound reasonable.
The guy is not a prisoner. It really is not unreasonable for this kind of thing be covered by the White House operating budget.

Speaking for myself only, I prefer to watch the Super Bowl with those people I actually like.

KR – Pres Obama has been more bi-partisan in he the 11 days of his presidency than Mr. Bush has been in 8 years.
