CEOs to White House
For whatever reason, the White House has been guarding the identities of the CEOs who will meet with President Obama this morning as if they were the nuclear codes.
But through some digging we have discerned that attendees will include Eric Schmidt of Google; Greg Brown of Motorola; David Barger of JetBlue; Antonio Perez of Eastman Kodak Company and possibly Dick Parsons, soon to be of Citigroup.
The number of attendees seems to be up in the air, though they are set to convene in the Roosevelt Room at 10:30 a.m. The president will make brief remarks that are not expected to make news.
End of transmission.

Obama Backs Off Birth Control Battle?
How come the attendee identities are compared to nuclear codes when their names were released to the press? I detect hyperbole along with negative suggestion.

Jake,
It must be a dry news day.
If the names were that secret how did you get these?
You wanna talk about secret CEO lists? Try Cheney and the Oil Cartel CEOs who designed the Bush-Cheney Energy Policy.
You must be kidding.

Obama’s comments are not expected to make news?
Translation: The press will not be permitted to print them.
Heil! Great Leader!

Jake, your post was ALMOST outstanding it that it answered its own question. ‘for whatever reason’ you felt the names were guarded, it seems like you did end up finding out. So it seems like all you had to do was live up to your title and investigate to ‘report’ this apparently not-so-guarded ‘news’. Besides, if they had a reason not to advertise the names of attendants before the meeting, it was probably a good one. It might have something to do with markets, stocks or any number of other reasons. Anyways its a great shame when commentary overshadow your reporting, and i normally enjoy your commentary.

Let’s go a little easy on Tapper. In all fairness, he may have been lapsing into a Walter Mitty moment.
