ABC News’ Teddy Davis and Steve Portnoy Report:

The liberal Americans United for Change group announced on Friday that it is launching a new radio ad campaign targeting Republican Sens. John Ensign of Nevada, George Voinovich of Ohio, and Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania, calling on them to reject Rush Limbaugh who recently said he hopes President Barack Obama fails.

The group’s president, Brad Woodhouse, says that Limbaugh’s "instructions were followed in the House as not a single Republican voted in favor of the Obama plan despite the President’s bipartisan outreach to the Republican caucus."

These 60-second radio ads, entitled “Rush to Failure,” are designed, according to the group, to "put Republican Senators on notice: the public expects them to represent their interests not the interests of Rush Limbaugh."

The new radio spots go up on Friday and run through the middle of next week by which time the United States Senate is expected to be well into consideration of the stimulus bill.

The spots are running on three stations which broadcast Limbaugh’s radio show — WTAM in Cleveland, KXNT in Las Vegas, and KKOH in Reno — in addition to a fourth station in Philadelphia, KYW, that does not carry Limbaugh.
