Are you going to tell us later what they have learnt at school today????
The follow up looks it will exceed the normalcy. Please give them time to relax and learn without worrying the media cover up.

Is it just me, or has a dead cat and staged photos pushed actual news out?
Has Tapper had a piece about the glaring inconsistencies in the Greg Craig reportlet? I know there is hot news coming about the girls getting assigned to do a salt map of Uruguay so they’d better get the hard news in now.

The Obama girls are just precious. I’m not a fan of obama’s but those little girls are just adorable. I wish them well at their new school and I hope that they will make plenty of good friends.

Some people are soo hateful…about nothing! You haters will hopefully come to love our PRESIDENT one day. If not, oh well. He’s still the president (elect) whether you like it or not. Go Obama!

I feel sorry for Michelle telling the girls everyday; don’t do this, don’t do that, the media is following you.

I thought Obama was a BIG PUBLIC School
supporter?
Just like all the other Rich, they pick the Schools where their Children go. The Government picks the Schools Middle and lower class send theirs.
I don’t blame him though. Public Schools SUCK. We cannot afford Private Schools, but luckily we can home school.
I support vouchers and Homeschool tax credits. I think all Americans should have the choice.

I feel so sorry for those kids in Gaza getting killed.

Posted by: Peace Train | January 5, 2009, 12:00 pm 12:00 pm

@Peace Train,
How about the Israeli Civilians and their Children in Southern Israel that have had to put up with the daily missle attacks from HAMAS over the last couple years?
Not sure of the deaths, but how many Israeli Children and other Civilians have died due to Hamas Missle attacks?

Posted by: ajax | January 5, 2009, 12:11 pm 12:11 pm

@Peace Train,
I see you talk about the Children in the GAZA strip, but nothing about the Children living in Southern Israel enduring this for the LAST 2 years!
I did not say a word about NOT CARING. I just stated a fact. Southern Israel have been getting hit with Missles (LAUNCHED AT CIVIALIANS) for a long while now. Nothing out of the WORLD about that.
What should Israel do? Just allow them to keep launching their missles into Southern Israel???

Posted by: ajax | January 5, 2009, 12:34 pm 12:34 pm

No one should kill children. EVER. So you condone the violence.

Posted by: Peace Train | January 5, 2009, 12:35 pm 12:35 pm

I don’t condone any violence.
“I feel so sorry for those kids in Gaza getting killed”
All I am asking, what about the Civilians and CHILDREN in Southern Israel? Why is it the World did not care about them? And now that Israel is trying to stop their PEOPLE from getting killed, is the World Speaking out about violence??

Posted by: ajax | January 5, 2009, 12:43 pm 12:43 pm

So Ajax you are fine with Israelis killing Palestinian children as along as it is in order to protect themselves?

Posted by: Peace Train | January 5, 2009, 12:45 pm 12:45 pm

@Peace Train,
So, you are fine with Israeli Children getting killed by Hamas Missle attacks?

Posted by: ajax | January 5, 2009, 12:52 pm 12:52 pm

As I stated. I don’t want to see any children get killed.
But, if you have a suggestion to stop HAMAS from firing missles into Southern Israel and KILLING ISRAELI CHILDREN and other Civilians, I would love to hear it!

Posted by: ajax | January 5, 2009, 12:55 pm 12:55 pm

Ajax when are Israel and the United States going to acknowledge the right of the Palestinians to exist like human beings instead of caged animals that are being denied even the basics needed to survive?

Posted by: Peace Train | January 5, 2009, 1:06 pm 1:06 pm

The real solution to this is to give the Palestines there own country. Why should Israel give up there land for another sovereign nation. I sugggest they be moved to another muslim country and let them truly establish their nation. Saudi Arabia has vast land that could be developed. They will always feel like squatters while occuppying land that Israel keeps giving them. These two nations will never coexist peacefully. Some need to come up with a better solution than the current one.

Peace Train – - -I think “security” was on the top of the lists when they were looking for schools for the girls. It’s easier to monitor them in a private school setting than it is in a publis school situation.

BIG DEAL….This isn’t news. Chap-Stik anyone?

The press needs to leave these little girls alone. The President’s children should be off limits. Let them be children.

“The press needs to leave these little girls alone. The President’s children should be off limits. Let them be children.”
But it’s only 3 pictures, in which they appear happy and secure, and they’re provided by the transition team.

Peace Train,
WHY do you think Hamas is using the civilian population of Gaza in this way?
It would not happen to be that this is the way to foster more & more hatred towards Israel and the US now would it?
This is the world we live in now. These are the kinds of conflicts that we will be dealing with from now on for the most part. The enemy will not be an army of a particular country. It will be organized guerilla cells. These cells will be more than willing to create situations where civilian casualties are always maximized.
If you are going to fight such groups, you must understand that the collateral damages will be high. You cannot fight them with “our rules of morality”. The idea of fighting a war with levels of restrictions means we are doomed to repeat the failures of Vietnam.

This whole thing about the kids is being blown way out of proportion. Private schools are by far the best choice if no other reason than security.
It would be nice if people would leave the kids out of all the political stuff.
There is no reason why a politician’s kids should be brought into the fray.
Unfortunately, the liberals have shown by the treatment of the Palin family that they are incapable of doing that.

Whoop-t-do…..just another photo-op.

Posted by: Midred | January 5, 2009, 3:46 pm 3:46 pm

Enough of these children. I have no interst in them at all. There is much more important things to know about. Next are you going to tell us what they had for lunch. STOP

Posted by: christine | January 5, 2009, 4:20 pm 4:20 pm

I understand if President’s kids have to go to Private school for their privacy or security etc but in Chicago they went to Private school too.
What Obamas excuse sent them to Private school in Chicago?

Posted by: catleya | January 5, 2009, 5:50 pm 5:50 pm

I think they should stop talking about the obama kids, leave them alone, who care, i am not saying that in a mean spirit, but everyone has their children to worry about and take care of, enough with the hero worship stuff.
a “news reporter” on cnn asked the question How close will the secret service be to them? do we really need to have that talked about?
these kids and their needs are no different than any of the other kids who have lived in the white house, I don’t remember all the attention be given to any of the others.
let the obama deal with raising their children the way they see fit, and let obama get on with the governing of this country, and let us raise our kids they way we see fit.
enough with the obama kids already.

Posted by: bush the usa | January 5, 2009, 8:35 pm 8:35 pm

and catleya,
the obama don’t have to offer an “excuse?” for having sent their kids to a private school.
it really is none of our business, people should be able to send their kids to school anywhere they can afford to send them.

Why should the Palestinians give up their land to Israel. Was it not Israelis – in the first place- who barged in, compliments of UK, and forced the Palestinians off their land. Israelis have either been GIVEN OUTRIGHT, or PROMISED OUTRIGHT – By UK, that this land is their land – all of it; hence the sixty-one year struggle.
Why else has UK moved to establish Israel as a country and until this day – sixty-one years later, they still refuse to grant Palestine the status of a country?
How on earth can this be a fair deal?
Arabs and Jews have co-existed in relative peace for thousands of years. Go figure the problem and somewhere along the way a solution will be found.
On the other hand, the problem remains that no one wants to find a solution; not UK, not US, not France, not Israel; because UK gave Israelis the right to all of the land – SO THERE!

But why a Quaker school???

Posted by: BP | January 6, 2009, 6:44 am 6:44 am

Enough…1 photo opp, one small story…Millions of kids each day go to school. Many “switch” schools mid year…(What aboiut our military kids?) THIS IS NOT NEWS!!!
Please focus on what is important…
The Obama’s can’t ask for privacy for their children and then “mug” for photos and new stories provided by their “transition” team. Please get prioroties straight! You cannot ask for privacy for your family and then “promote” them for a two day photo fest!
Say what you mean and mean what you say! Hopefully this is not a glimpse of what we can expect in the next four years!

Posted by: Mommymax | January 6, 2009, 8:41 am 8:41 am

I didnt notice. Does it say which government school the children will be attending, since BO is such a true believer in govt schools?

Posted by: Keepyourheelsdown | January 6, 2009, 1:45 pm 1:45 pm

I wish the children well. It’s not their fault they had to go to Jeremiah Wright’s United Church of Hate.
