Michelle Obama Gets a Wax Figure — and Spot in Madame Tussauds
ABC News’ Sunlen Miller reports: Michelle Obama will soon be on display in Madame Tussauds — in wax form. The famous wax museum has commissioned a wax replica of the nation’s newest first lady to add to its collection. The six-month process is laborious. Artists at the Merlin Studio in London studied hours of video footage and hundreds of photos to observe the facial gestures of the first lady. A clay head mold is created with incredibly intricate attention to fine details. Red silks are used to create the veins on the eyeballs, each stand of hair is inserted individually, and it takes technicians almost four days to make a set of teeth. Mrs. Obama’s figure — currently in the form of a clay head — is set to debut in the Washington, D.C. museum in March. President Obama’s wax figure will be unveiled in the next few weeks. Efforts on it were well under way shortly after the election. "As our nation’s first African American first lady, a proud working mom and a budding style icon, Mrs. Obama is a role model to women around the corner and around the globe," said Janine DiGioacchino, general manager of Madame Tussauds New York and Washington D.C. "We know our visitors will love seeing and interacting with her figure." Mrs. Obama joins the ranks of two other first ladies also immortalized in wax in the museum — Jacqueline Kennedy and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Obama Backs Off Birth Control Battle?
“As our nation’s first African American First Lady, a proud working mom and a budding style icon…”
Correction on that. She was a working mom a couple of years ago.

I’m going to have to agree with Bertie; in that, First Lady, Michelle Obama’s immortalization comes as a result of her being just that… First Lady.
AND… Second to that, our nation’s first African American First Lady.
Side Note: Please tell me that the sculpture remains a work in progress…’Cause First Lady, Obama is FAR more attractive than the shot I just saw…

What? No headline and story implicating a WH deputy press secretary with a dangerous electrical short on an elevator because he pushed the button too many times? I think it’s inevitable more reports with incendiary and loose connections (pun intended) reports will be written by Sunlen Miller. In the meantime, it’s kind of nice to have a reprieve.

Are they going to include Michelle’s prominent UNDER-BITE?
Why doesn’t she get that repaired? She can certainly afford to do so.

I hate to say it. But the wax face is much better looking that her face in real life. If they took them 4 days to come out with those sets of teeth, they did their job.

Couldn’t they have just used one of a spare form George Soros used to build the Obama robots from to begin with? It would have been a lot less work . . .

Did they run out of clay when they had to do the lower jaw and the hips?
