Other than Bill Richardson, the bumpiest part of the Obama team’s relatively smooth transition into power may be their transition into a new e-mail system.
On the worst possible day imaginable for a communications team to lose access to the internet — tomorrow — there will be a gap of time when the Obama team loses access to the Transition Team email account, shut off though their White House emails have not kicked in yet.
With a small group of staffers reporting to the White House to start working while the parade is still underway, this presents a problem for the regularly uber-connected Obama team.
To remedy thE problem, the Obama team has secured permission from the White House counsel’s office to use google mail during this time.
