Powell ‘Thinks’ He’s a Republican

Biggest hedge of the day? When Charlie Gibson asked Colin Powell, "are you still a Republican?"  Powell answered in a tone of voice loaded with uncertainty:

"Yes, I think I am still a Republican."

He’s a General and can’t remember his party. That’s like saying “Uh I don’t know if we can win a war” Just switch your party affiliation and move on with life
Leave it to Gibson to ask a leading question. In law that would be called leading the witness and it would be objected to. He is so obvious in his political views it is a shame to call him a reporter

Why is “are you still a Republican” a leading question? Nothing wrong with a bit of candor on a bit of history such as this.
