California Governor To Appear in Stallone Movie
During our interview on ‘this Week" this morning, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger said he’ll be returning to movies to make a cameo for his friend Sylvester Stallone’s new movie "The Expendables."
The entertainment website TMZ reported earlier that Stallone backed off on saying Schwarzenegger would appear in his movie, saying the governor had one thing on his mind: the California budget crisis and negotiations.
But Schwarzenegger confirmed this morning on "this Week" that he intends to make a cameo in his friend’s new film.
"Since I’ve become governor I’ve done three cameos when friends ask me and Sly asked me if I would do a cameo. I said of course I would help you do a cameo, there’s no two ways about that," Schwarzenegger said.
"But it had nothing to do with the budget crisis or with the budget negotiations because that will be done sometime in April," he said. "I enjoy him. He’s a terrific director, writer, and actor and we hang out a lot of times together."
When I asked the California governor if he intended to go back to making movies after his term expires in 2010, he said, "I have no idea. You know I’m not thinking now about what I’m going to do because remember one thing, as soon as I stepped into this political arena and became governor, it was not about me, it was about we."
He said, "It’s all about California, it’s all about the people."
And … Schwarzenegger’s Oscar pick for best movie tonight?
"’The Reader’ to me was one of the best movies, even one of the best movies that I’ve ever seen. I think that movie has a great shot," he said.
We also asked the California governor what his all-time favorite political movie is.
Schwarzenegger’s pick? The 1972 film "The Candidate" with Robert Redford.
–George Stephanopoulos

Obama Avoids Questions on Contraception Rule
The Governor of CA needs to tell the whiners and tree huggers that the oil and gas reserves off shore are worth the risk to keep their state solvent.
Cap the leases at 10 or 15 years, and use the resources to offset the budget defecit and keep his state afloat. Construct the leases so that any spill is a direct cost to the oil companies and not the state.
Drilling is worth the risk, and the benefits will save his states.

“Drilling is worth the risk, and the benefits will save his states”.
Sorry pal, the days of drill baby drill are over. Oil is too cheap now to invest in drilling. Even T. Boone knows the score, big oil R.I.P

Why do you always introduce Paul Krugman as being from the New York Times? He does have a day job as Professor of Economics at Princeton. Also has it bothered you that President Obama is using Paul Volker as an Economic advisor when Volker had a mjor responsibility for the recession in ’91-’92 (which was greater in terms of percent of the labor force unemployed than today)?
Don Yett, Professor of Economics, Un iversity of Southern California.
P.S. Lots of Economicsts predicted the crash several years ago. I advised my friends to pull out of the stock market, as I did, more than three years ago when it looked like the bull market would go on forever.

When Arnold was campaigning for Governeor, didn’t he promise not to do any movies during his term, if he got elected? Once again, politicians lie and break their promises. big surprise.

an admitted(Arnold) and a charged(Australia his plane )drug users . Our kids can look up to them? I would have more respect if they admitted they wouldn’t be where they where with out the use of drugs,(would we have watched terminator or rocky if they had been skinny?) and came out for legalization?the way it is now, they are role models for a lot of kids.

I just can’t think of any better solution to California’s problems than simply letting it break off of the mainland and become it’s own damn country, and Ahnuld can be the King.

“Boo hoo hoo wah wah boo hoo Obama my messiah is inaugurated President.” What a pathetic excuse for a man Steponallofus is! Like all of the liberal biased media, they have no journalistic integrity, but crying for the election of your favored candidate you’ve cuddling and protected for 2 years! Disgusting! Sick! Pathetic! It has to stop!
Now Schwarzenegger, what a disappointing pseudo Republican he’s become. He’s as guilty as the Democrat’s are in running up his states 41 billion dollar deficit! It’s a disaster and as unsustainable as the Democrat pork bill spending is!

California is a very liberal state with easy welfare and sancturary for illegal aliens. Now they’re going broke. I’m surprised it took this long.
On the subject of drilling and refining oil. You use more oil than any other state. Why are you so opposed to producing some of what you use?
I hate hypocrisy and elitism and there seems to be a lot of it these days. Kennedy doesn’t want to see wind turbines and Californians don’t want off shore drilling. They use a lot of energy, they just don’t want to produce it.

So is Schwarzenegger getting paid for his cameo? He could donate it to the state.
