The woman is scheduled for a hearing in April. Let the hearing take place and then we see. That’s what the “rule of law” means. EVERYONE is entitled to due process under law on an equal basis. After that you can make your outcry if one is due.

There is nothing “right wing” about wanting our immigration laws enforced. In fact, Obama’s aunt has made a mockery of our laws by ignoring for years a deportation order to leave, then receiving “unusual” (i.e. preferential) treatment that has effectively allowed her to stay — all because of her relation to Obama.
See this from the AP:
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Homeland Security Department still is requiring high-level approval before federal immigration agents can arrest fugitives, a rule quietly imposed by the Bush administration days before the election of Barack Obama, whose aunt has been living in the United States illegally.
The unusual directive from the Homeland Security Department came amid concerns that such arrests might generate “negative media or congressional interest,” according to a newly disclosed federal document obtained by The Associated Press.
The directive makes clear that U.S. officials worried about possible election implications of arresting Zeituni Onyango, the half-sister of Obama’s late father, who at the time was living in public housing in Boston. She is now believed to be living in Cleveland.

Another example of right-wing hypocrisy. ALIPAC urges President Obama to order his aunt deported in the name of “the rule of law.” This overlooks two important facts. First, under the law, his aunt has the right to seek to reopen her case and she has done so. Her case is scheduled for a hearing in April (remarkably quickly for the Immigration Court). Second, the law sets forth the procedure for deportation and does not give the president the authority to order the deportation of anyone. So much for the rule of law.

I think this incident will be a good indicater as to whether President Obama believes in enforcing our laws fairly.There’s no excuse for ignoring our immigration laws.Just because this lady is kin to the President shouldn’t be an excuse for treating her case any differently than any other illegal immigrant.

I want a list of state and/or federal laws that I can choose from to IGNORE. The way I see it is if Auntie and all the other illegal aliens now being coddled by our government can ignore our laws, I, as a citizen should have an equal right to do the same.
Ridiculous you say? Not enforcing our immigration laws is RIDICULOUS, I say.

Oh, get real. I have a few step-relatives I don’t know, and really don’t want to become acquainted with. Why would they be my responsibility? If they had arrived in the U.S. legally but had been told to leave, certainly it wouldn’t be up to me either to take care of them or get them deported if they had avoided leaving. Get a life, complainers: volunteer in a soup kitchen or homeless family center, help tutor children of inmates, drive old ladies to medical appointments, but QUIT WHINING.

alipac is one of the best organization in this country to put a stop to all the lawbreakers that chose to come in this country illegally and mooch off of american taxpayers. we as americans and legal immigrants would be doing great if we didn’t have to pay the bills for all the people who are here illegally.

Please note that as a former Republican until last month when i re-registered as a Democrat, I always understood that Immigration enforcement during the Bush administration was their responsibility. It is actually the Republican administration’s problem that this lady is still here. Of course, so like the reason I left the Republican party, it is always easier for them to blame Democrats even though they were totally in charge of immigration policies at the time her illegal status was noticed. HAHAHAHA that Republicans have the nerve to blame Democrats!!!

What? It is the auntie who by remaining here in the US at US taxpayer’s expense has created the issue and not some “conservative group.” Obama should have resolved this by 1. making her a houseguest in his Chicago residence, 2. by asking her to leave. Cheers
