How could it play in Peoria when he mis lead all by insinuating Caterpillar CEO said “if the Pork Bill passed Cat would be rehiring some of those who were laid off recently” That was proven to be an intentional lie as the Caterpillar CEO not wanting to embarrass the President he waited for O’Bama to depart when he announced the President mis-stated the facts as there would be more lay-offs long before there will be any re-hiring! Why is this President given so many passes from the Media, Press, and now the CEO of Caterpillar Tractor Co.???? It does not change, Bush would have been slaughtered if he had been in the same situation…lies, lies, lies!!!! The Chickens will definitely COME HOME to ROOST with this President.

Just chaulk it up to another Obama gaffe or lie.
Obama is just spewing sentences that people want to hear he doesn’t care whether or not it is going to work.
Just look at his record!

Obama is still winging it with the arrogant, obfuscating(lying) sales pitch! He doesn’t get it – this over-reach will be his undoing! :)

Can someone please tell me what its costing us for these senseless trips…The bill is a FOR SURE deal!!!
What is Obama doing??
Preaching dire economic disaster…yet spending who knows how much, flying all over the country….
This is nothing short of wasteful…
and its on our dime…..
Can people not see the vast difference in what this guy says…..and what he does?
He cried about others flying mini jets….wonder how many trips the mini’s could take compared to this full sized airliner?
What a hypocrite…..I really want to know what it cost….a mil?…. half a mil?….more…..
Then theres the cost to each city…security and whatnot….
O’bamanation is getting on my last nerve.

Let Obama explain how handing out $2 billion to ACORN is going to help those in Peoria.
Or in Elkhart.

“More empty GOP seats in the House & Senate 2010…count on it.”
More empty seats? Why, won’t they show up?
Who can Democrats blame? Bush?
No, there’s no one left to blame any longer.

Hmm…Why would CAT lay off any more, after all the sitmulus is supposed to “save” jobs as well as create them …right?

That must have been a very nuanced conversation between the president and Caterpillar’s CEO.

Let’s face it folks – all this guy knows how to do is campaign. Someone should tell him the election is over…. of course, he is already running for his second term….
There is a very subtle term that all should think about. It is the difference between “creating” jobs and “saving” jobs. Statistics could prove the creation but there can’t be statistics about what jobs were SAVED. It is a win – win for Obama…

I was very surprised by the reaction in Peoria to Obama’s stimulus speech. Compared to the reaction in Florida and Indiana where the crowd went wild, I noticed that no one clapped and the longer he spoke the quieter it got. The zingers that wound up the crowds before clearly fell flat and Obama look uneasy up there. I noticed too that he did not stay to answer any questions, like he had in previous stops.
Peoria is in Obamas home state and should have gotten a huge reaction for that reason alone. It was… strange

I don’t know where people can come up with such mean spirited ideas and comments. Well maybe I do know.
As a former GOP voter for 42 yrs, I can tell you what I did with my last tax rebate from Bush. I paid off some credit card debt and I will do the same with this one. I have to, after this administration cost me over 35% of my retirement account. The GOP feels that tax cutting and free markets are the only way to go. What about ENRON and Wall St and Madoff?
I am afraid that if we just take every word we hear from the far right OR far left, as gospel, we are in trouble.
We have a centrist President, who will help the majority of Americans and I am certain that he will do that and do it well.
As for his travels to talk to the American people, I welcome it. “W”, who I voted for once, barely stuck his head out of the White House and probably spent more American Taxpayer money in ONE month in his trumped up Iraq war than any White House travel costs of any President….
