President to Continue Cross Country Campaign Next Week

Next week, President Obama will visit Denver, Colo., and Phoenix, Ariz., midweek as part of his continuing effort to sell his economic plans to the nation.

Convinced that the president’s communications efforts haven’t been well-served by him remaining confined in the trappings of the White House, the administration has put the commander-in-chief back in campaign mode.

To illustrate how real people are hurting, the president held town hall meetings in Elkhart, Ind., on Monday and Fort Myers, Fla. on Tuesday.

To demonstrate the tangible effects of transportation infrastructure dollars in the stimulus bill, he and the governor of Virginia visited a highway construction project in Springfield, Va., on Wednesday.

Today the president comes to Peoria, Ill., to a Caterpillar manufacturing plant to push the notion that jobs will be created as a result of infrastructure investments. The CEO of Caterpillar, who announced 22,000 layoffs last month, has said the stimulus bill could allow him to rehire some of those workers.

He is not campaigning! He is keeping in touch with the Amercian people and what the country is facing! Would you rather have him holed up in the WH for 8 years like Bush???

I think they need to rething their headlines. How about the President visits towns hit hardest by the recession???
The deal for the stimulus is done so how can he be campaigning?

He’s not just flying over disaster areas like someone we all knew too well for way too long….he’s engaged and talking with the people….and not must visiting with hand selected supporters…but ALL american’s..whether they support him or not….WOW…a grown-up in the White House…

By the time the Porkulus shoes stop dropping, He might be content to stay out of DC COMPLETELY.
Yesterday, Reid bumped the White House briefing from teevee to say the Democrats had a “deal”, and to copiously kiss up to the “three brave Republicans”.
Now it appears that brave Republican Susan Collins — “the ranking Republican on the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs commitee, which, as an oversight committee, might be expected to see its role as protecting whistleblowers. She also sits on the Senate appropriations committee, giving her a strong position from which to wield influence during today’s negotiations” — has balked on whistleblower protection $ in the Porkulus.
Hahaha. Good for — I can’t believe I’m saying this, but whatever stops the Porkulus is GOOD — Collins. Wonder whether she’s enough of a Mata Hari type to have intended this all along? Well, I wonder.
Oh hahaha and teeheehee. Friday the 13th seems to have come EARLY for Reid-Pelosi-Obama.
How will Gibbs spin THAT? Or perhaps he spends EVERY Friday the 13th at home under the bed, like most “ordinary” Americans.

He doesn’t need a backdrop of people out in the real world. We all live here, and we know people.
What we need is for him to work with Geithner to improve the plan he announced, and to get his promised proposal for mortage reform on the table.

Surely PB0 can continue campaign around, for it is the only thing he has some understanding of.
But, “A bit baffled by Panetta’s response, Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Oklahoma, asked him point blank, “Is the DNI your boss or not?” Panetta’s answer, “The DNI is my boss.”
This is the intelligence of the head of intelligence nominee by our Smartest Leader. Now the CIA director finally has a boss, perhaps a good thing, though.
See, our Smartest Leader is smart.

Obama must really hate his new home.
Or maybe he hates real responsibilites, a steady job, and for the first time being the punchline for comics.

“He’s not just flying over disaster areas like someone we all knew too well for way too long….he’s engaged and talking with the people….”
Obama’s permanent-campaign circus is flying over one biiiig disaster area, then using the clueless crowds to talk AT the television audience that watches the “news”.
It’s repellent. Not only that, it’s a big waste of fossil fuel, and a partisan abuse of the presidency.

Instead of asking for handouts I wish someone on the campaign trail would ask why he let Geithner stay.
Obama said Daschle was a mistake–he didn’t want to send a message that there were two sets of rules.
Yet he kept a tax cheat.
While Obama is dodging his responsibilities back at the White House I wish someone would dare ask a tough question.

I’m beginning to think we don’t really need a president. Maybe a permanent campaigner is actually better. Lots less he can much up.

Sorry first for the bad english, but this is what i think President Obama should say instead and also what have not been said regarding the Stimulus Bill.
President Sarkosy of France said about PM Brown of England that he ruined his country by cutting taxes, it didn’t work and it broke the entire UK economy , and now they are in a serious recession, you bet Brown did not like it, but they did that because their economy is essentially based on the banking system and consumer spending and they have very little if not less factories, manufacturies, i mean not much of industrial sector to stimulate, but unfortunately for him (Brown), it was just the truth,
Sarkosy says instead he would build bridges, hospitals, schools, revive the automobile industry, invest in science and technology, education, and that at the end of the tunnel what you have are assets, something upon which you can build up.
So instead of President Obama saying if my plan doesn’t work you will have a new president as he said lat night, he should say that if my plan doesn’t work, we will have assets : new schools, secure bridges, best water system, best hospitals but also assets in the people: which means better educated people, more competetive in this technology era, more healthy because of a much improved heath system, better formed people because of investment in technology and so on…, those things that we don’t have now. And of Course this would create jobs, because you need teachers, workers,…
to achieve that.
As president Sarkosy said, if you give tax cut to someone, he would not spend because he is scared for his job because of the bad economy, he would keep that money for bad times in case he looses his job, in contrary if we invest in infrastructure and people, we have tangible assets but we also have assets in the people themselves. So we will be better armed and better off than today with those assets to look forward in the future if the economy does not improve and remains as it is now.
So here no gamble, in the worst case scenario we have the most important in our people and for us.

Latest on Berg suit since some birthers have invaded
Judge appears to be tiring of Berg’s incompentence.
“Plaintiff’s amended complaint [#11] adds nothing to the original complaint except rhetoric and legal theory and creates no obligation upon the defendants to respond to it. Nor is the amended complaint responsive to defendants’ motion to dismiss [#9], opposition to which was due on 2/9/09. Unless points and authorities in opposition to the motion to dismiss are filed by 2/13/09, the motion will be treated as conceded and granted. It is SO ORDERED.”

“more competetive in this technology era”
“Competitive” doesn’t really mean much, though politicians talk about it all the time: NOBODY can “compete” with China, least of all the US.
The THEORY of “capitalism” IS competition, but actual competition is the LAST thing “the US” wants, particularly in its profligately-easteful military adventures, and the election of its corporate place-holder politcal class.

Sigmonde: ” If he has the votes already to pass these monstrosities, why is he flying around the country burning up fuel.?”
It’s his job to lead the country and (until now, apparently) Presidents have been expected to communicate policy and important situations directly to the people, be it by hour long speeches, fireside chats, televised addresses, or town hall meetings.

The answer is he hasn’t kept his information secret and this issue has been dealt with to the full satisfaction of applicable authorities (who were under Bush’s administration up to the inauguration). So why do these kooks continue to waste taxpayers money and court time with these frivolous lawsuits?

“more competetive in this technology era”
The US isn’t competing so well: much of the population is nearly illiterate, without health or dental care, pressed on nutrition, marginally housed, clueless on computer use, in constant fear of worse …
Most of these political untouchables, unmentioned by the “leaders”, will never have the good luck of the homeless black woman who busted up the Obama campaign appearance — whose story “sort of broke my heart a little bit”, according to the state senator’s wife who’s given her a place to lay her head.

“Mccain and Clintons was a smoke screen to scrub Obamas”
Except the information was not scrubbed.
Lueders was part of a small group of State Department employees and contractors who were charged after the disclosure that workers at the agency had accessed the passport files of then-Sen. Obama and fellow presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and John McCain without authorization. The inspector general’s office at the State Department later found that the breaches of the PIERS database had been more widespread than at first thought.
For instance, the inspector general looked at the passport files of 150 politicians, entertainers and athletes and found that 127 of the files had been improperly accessed at least once between September 2002 and last March. The 127 files were accessed a total of 4,148 times during that time frame, and one was viewed 356 times by 77 users, according to the inspector general.
The lesson as always? The right wing lies.

The National Press Club’s president — who fortunately was NOT out of town blessing future freeways in the name of “the people” — responded to Plouffe’s “off-the-record” request:
” … Blacking out news coverage of this speech would not only reduce the free flow of information that is at the core of the National Press Club’s mission. It also would run contrary to the spirit of President Obama’s recent executive order and statements in support of a more open government. While Mr. Plouffe does not work for the Obama administration, his identity is tied to the president’s, and if his decision to speak off the record stands, it will undermine the president’s message on this important issue.
“Word of Mr. Plouffe’s intentions is particularly alarming because it comes on the heels of reports that he barred reporters from covering his recent address in Azerbaijan. Establishing a pattern of this sort would not reflect well on him … “

Uh … David Plouffe wanted his speech to the National Press Club “off-the-record”, and that somehow shows fear on the part of “corporate media”?? To me, it sounds more like further secrecy from the “Obama” organization.
In fact, the “post-partisan” soft right ringers among the “Democrats” (Kerry with Axelrod-Obama, later joined by Plouffe) first sabotaged the candidacy of Dr. Howard Dean, THEN ripped off DEAN’s online innovations to “mobilize people” into a cult of personality that is NOT noticeably democratic,
THEN let Dean “elect” them to the White House. THEN sabbed Dean AGAIN.

This is business as usual and you have lost all credibility and good will from much of the population. I will campaign vigorously to have you defeated in 2012 before you can screw up our country any more than you already have!
