Some fireworks today on the Laura Ingraham Show.
Her guest was Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Penn., one of a handful of moderates who fashioned a compromise on the stimulus package.
In the first clip, (listen HERE) Ingraham and Specter go at it as to whether Martin Feldstein thinks this bill is the right thing to do. Ingraham had asked Specter to name a conservative free market economist who thinks supports this particular stimulus package.
Ingraham (correctly) says Feldstein opposed this bill in an op-ed in the Washington Post.
Specter seemed to not have read the op-ed. (Though perhaps he read Feldstein’s more general endorsement of a stimulus from last October.)
In the second clip (listen HERE), Ingraham implies that Specter supported this plan because he’d been wined and dined by President Obama.
"Don’t give me that wine and dine baloney, young lady," Specter says.
