The Seat-Saving Congressmen
ABC News’ Rick Klein reports: I just spoke to a Democratic member of Congress who told me that a decent number of House members today placed little cards with their names on them on desks in the House chamber to claim seats early — the better to witness history, get a handshake from the commander-in-chief, and/or grab a cameo on national television.
Apparently this practice started by around 7am today, the member said. At least one Democrat even literally crossed the aisle to save a seat on the Republican side, where — naturally — the seats are in less demand.
But the joke’s on them: A House Democratic aide tells ABC that members of Congress were informed a little while ago that there’s no seat-saving tonight.
All those little cards are being collected and thrown out, and seating will be first-come, first-served. Wonder who will grab the prime real estate . . .

An effectively educated citizenry is a highly creative citizenry.
An effectively educated citizenry is a highly innovative citizenry.
An effectively educated citizenry is a highly productive citizenry.
An effectively educated citizenry is a creative, innovative, productive and WEALTH-CREATING citizenry.
An effectively educated citizenry is a wealth-creating citizenry that WILL pay down future debts (individual and national)!
Wise people borrow for education; because they know that they will be making more money in the future.
An effectively educated citizenry will find CREATIVE SOLUTIONS to the individual and national challenges, instead of attempting destructive solutions; such as misusing the nation’s military might for narrow personal ends.
Republi-cons aren’t interested in educating Americans; because educated Americans will not be easily led astray.
