Man, I must have missed the declaration of war or something. Please tell me the GOP is not in lock step with this man. I pray someone has the power to hush him before he says stuff our whole country will regret. The world is listening, and he is the voice right now right or wrong.

I understand what Rush is saying, but I don’t think he realizes what’s at stake. 2 examples:
1. A basketball coach coaching his first game of the season and you don’t agree with his coaching style. It’s ok to say ‘I hope that he fails’ – nothing really important is at stake and a coach can be easily and quickly replaced and the team can turn-around immediately. If he fails the consequence falls on HIMSELF
2. A surgeon performing surgery and you don’t agree with how he wants to make the incision. Would you really say ‘I hope he fails’ because you disagree with how he gets the job done? If he fails the consequence falls on the PATIENT.
Wake up Rush! You may not agree with Obama, but you’d better pray that he succeeds. With all your money, you might be ok if he fails but the rest of us WILL NOT.

James, Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh get books published because they make people feel good about the ugliest parts of their soul. They tell people that their worst inclinations and their most hateful thoughts are ok. Basically, they make the most insecure and warped members of our society feel good about themselves. A friend of mine works with a Rush fan who is constantly echoing the man’s rhetoric, yet he’s completely incompetent on the job and only has it because he’s buddy’s with the boss, who feels bad for him. Yet he’ll spout off about his fury about people getting free rides all day long. My father is one of the snidest people I know, to the point that he has no friends. Rush makes him feel good about himself. Those are the only Rush fans I know. I’ll also add that the people I consider my moral guides are staunch Republicans with very socially conservative values, and they spurn Rush Limbaugh as someone who stands for the worst in this country. Limbaugh and Coulter are chicken soup for the souls of broken people.

I never used to listen to Rush Limbaugh until I started this past year when all the liberals were trashing the Clintons on tv and the radio. While he is incendiary, and therefore a good commentator, I don’t find him to be too hateful. Give conservative talk radio host and “entertainer” Rush Limbaugh his kudos. No one can excite the Republican base like Limbaugh. But that is all Rush can do and that is to energize the GOP base.
However, Michael Steele is right. What the GOP now needs is to expand beyond the base to take back Moderates and Independent won by President Obama and Congressional Democrats. Remember, Sarah Palin also wow’ed and excited the Conservative base but that didn’t translate into enough votes to help McCain win the White House.

The last major banking regulation change was signed into law in 1999 by Bill Clinton and approved in the Senate by Chuck Schumer, John Kerry, Chris Dodd, and Joe Biden with a vote of 90-8.
No new deregulation has taken place since 1999. In fact, the Bush administration repeatedly called for more oversight (read: regulation) of Fannie and Freddie only to be told none was needed by Dodd, Schumer, Frank and co.
If the Republicans are primarily to blame for this mess, where are the investigations? Seriously. This has caused great harm to our economy, the world’s economy, and our national security. Good News: Rush Limbaugh Calls on Conservatives to Rise Up
In a rousing speech over the weekend, talk-show host Rush Limbaugh called on the faithful to renew their commitment to conservatism.
He encouraged the crowd at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) not to let opponents define the conservative agenda, but instead to champion the best qualities of the movement: rewarding hard work, fiscal responsibility and a dedication to America’s founding documents.
The conservative icon then exhorted the audience to pass on its values to the next generation.
“Understand they’re going to hate you for a while, and they’re going to rebel against you,” Limbaugh said. “And someday, they’re going to think you’re the smartest person they ever met. But you owe them the truth. …You owe them the truth about morality. You owe them the truth about values.”
The message was well received by the annual gathering of conservative advocates.

Rush says he want’s Obama’s ‘take out a loan to pay the debt’ (which makes sense only if you think that someone else will have to pay the bills) policy to fail, the the most frequent, well thought out reply I’ve seen so far is “Rush is fat!” Following closely is “Rush is racist!” These are the same people who say they voted for Obama because of his pro-gun and pro-life record. And sadly, they represent at least half the electorate. I would say “God help us,” but these same people think the Constitution says “separation of church and state” and have no clue what the phrase “nor prohibiting the free exercise thereof’ might mean. Back in December, in an interview with Barbara Walters- she discussed the ‘then’ economic downturn with Mr. Limbaugh where he boasted: “What recession?”
Barbara stated: “I say, for you, there is no recession.”
Rush replied: “Well, I just choose not to participate.”
If this was not an initial indication of a man effectively disconnected from his some of his listeners- not to mention the public at large, I don’t know what is.
I’m not a registered Republican, but I do believe in much of its Lincolnite & Eisenhower core values. However, it’s been severely neglected as of late.
Republicans, as well as Democrats alike, have been suffering the worsening effects of the economy- although, it’s the Wall Streeters [and the new pompous plutocracy] that’s getting all the attention in which I believe Rush is a blowhorn mascot.
I never much liked G.W. Bush, but there was never a day I wanted him to fail if it meant his administration’s failure was America’s failure… That being said, Mr. Limbaugh’s wish for President Obama’s failure is no different than any hostile foreign leader wishing the downfall of the United States of America.
It seems that Rush Limbaugh is becoming the new ‘Anti-America’ because the status quo is about to get a good shaking.

Reading all these posts, it’s quite amazing how the supposedly “intelligencia” expresses its intolerence of people they don’t agree with. Personal vitriol surely advances the “debate”.
Rush is absolutely correct in hoping that Obama’s plan for America fails. His plan is to convert the USA into the USSR. What right thinking person could be hoping for his success in that pursuit?
My guess is that most of these posters have never spent a single minute listening to Limbaugh’s radio program…which makes the perfectly qualified to comment on him.

How hilarious! Rush Limbaugh has never said anything hateful.. That is the medieval mentality of your average Low-IQ Liberal.. If they cannot understand LOGIC, it must be evil! Thus it must be demonized as evil. Therefore it must be attacked and destroyed with blind fanaticism. Notice it’s not Conservatives who run around name calling, blabbering hateful comments, and acting like spoiled children. But then again what can one expect? BTW… TO DAN. I am all for cutting road crews and police.. Take a good look at your local streets someday.. they are made of ‘asphalt’ for a reason.. If you cut employees and forced them to work under a static budget, they’d use a material that would last a heck of a lot longer without the danger of ‘potholes’. Innovation is brought about by necessity, not complacency.
And as for cops.. when I see 2 or more cops pull over one car for a speeding ticket, I tend to think that there too many employees and not enough work to go around…

And how would you suggest we pay for those institutions besides with tax dollars? Maybe the LAPD should hold a bake sale? There we go – cops SELLING donuts (like girl scouts sell cookies), instead of eating them! lol
Although, honestly, if someone could suggest a way to pay for those programs without tax dollars, I’d be more than welcome to entertain those ideas. Not that I could implement them myself, but I’m curious what someone could come up with.
So yes, there are SOME needs of society that can be most efficiently paid for by government. But those are generally things that directly impact large segments of the public.
Law enforcement – PUBLIC safety, related to crime and traffic safety.
Fire departments – PUBLIC safety, related to fire and similar public hazards.
Road Crews – PUBLIC roadways, repair and maintenance, to give us a smooth ride and reduce road-caused vehicle wear or damage.
I honestly do not know of any law-abiding citizens who would want any of those programs eliminated, or funded by charging those who use them (other than the roads, via license fees). Seriously, would you rather pay the fire department when they put out your house fire, or chip in a little, in case you ever need them?

Where Limbaugh appeals only to the most extreme of Republican conservatives, I think he does not represent all Republican conservatives, at least I hope not…
I say, I am glad to see just who and what these individuals think are important… even if they won’t acknowledge the rest of America…
Rush says that they can still take back the country, from whom are they trying to take the country back from. Unlike the 2004 elections, Obama won by a significant margin… So is Rush and his clan trying to take the country back from the…majority of people who voted Obama in???

Something bad happened to the democrats in the primaries. The hate spewed at anyone and anything that got in Obama’s way was stifling to any type of dissent – even those internal to the party who chose to disagree with him. These nasty posts against Rush are further proof that the Dems have lost their soul. I got off that train before it derailed. Still I’m sorry to see it still barrelling out of control down the wrong track.

I think it is about time someone stood up to the Republicans that are trying to act like Democrats. We elect Republicans to act conservative but it seems that the liberals are trying to take over the party just as they did the Democrats. My personal feeling is this. If they vote for this so called Health bill, they are out of there be it Democrat or Republican. It is time that both parties realize that it is about the people and stop trying to bring us to the point that Big Daddy, (Feds), controls everything and every aspect of our lives.
