EmailABC News’ Yunji de Nies and Karen Travers report: Remember when the New Yorker magazine depicted Michelle Obama as fist bumping militant, with an AK-47 on her back? That summer cover generated a lot of critical buzz, but oh how times have changed. The magazine’s new issue, out next week, features a "runway" first lady — strutting the catwalk in three outfits — surprisingly with sleeves. Inside, the magazine features a short article entitled "Baring Arms," focusing on the first lady’s sleeveless fashion, accompanied by a picture of her favored designers Jason Wu and Thakoon Panichgul wrapped in an American flag. Lately, the first lady seems to be the Cover Girl-in-Chief. She’s graced recent covers of Vogue, People and in a first, will share the cover of Oprah Winfrey’s O Magazine with the media mogul herself. Grammy winner and actress Alicia Keys is featured inside Glamour magazine, dressed as Mrs. Obama, complete with Malia and Sasha look-alikes. — Yunji de Nies and Karen Travers

Seems like the Obama’s aren’t camera shy. Economy wise for the magazine industry I know alot of money is being made because of their images.

I really belive that the first lady seems very poised and very comfortable with her new role. She really is a nice lady who really wants the best for this nation. I did not vote for Obama, but that does not mean I dont think hes a decent man, I sometimes think is is far more conservative than alot of so call coneservative republicans. I think so far hes doing a great job!!!!He is and will continue to reach across party lines…I hope my party be more accepting and lets do it for our nation.

well, she’s comfy. She has class, but somehow she still manages to remain accessible. i think this is why so many people like her husband too. They’ve got immense intellect, but they’re so down to earth.

Hopefully, Obama will make the moderate democrats his base while managing not to tick off either the liberal dems or the blue dogs. I don’t want him to overreach, but so far he’s doing alright.

well, if you guys are debating whether 45 is young or not, then i think she’s doing alright. you couldn’t find anything else to criticize. Well, pray tell me, if she’s not young, or relatively young, how could you ever have a ‘young president’? as far as i know, you can’t be elected president if you’re under 30.

I want to take the HIGH road and say that the negative statements come from the fact that your man lost the Nov. election; however your comments lead me to believe that you feel an African American woman can not be considered beautiful and intelligent.
Michelle is doing a great job as first lady. She is opening up the house to all Americans. She is volunteering almost weekly and the causes that she supports are creditable. Just calm down and give her a chance to develop her own style and stride. Although I have not agreed with all of her wardrobe selections; so far, she has made me proud!

Hank, please referance one racist thing she has done or said. Just one! It’s obvious some of you feel because she is a woman of color, she can’t be considered beautiful! Her complexion is dark so she has to be a militant and can’t be compassionate and kind! This says much more about your issues.
