For the record, Sen. Lisa Murkowski is the new Earmark Queen of the Senate.

The total Earmark haul for Alaska is down but not for lack of trying to get the money – the decline in dollars is really a direct result of Sen. Ted “Uncle Ted” Stevens losing his seat due to his conviction in the VECO bribery scandal. Without Unka Ted’s connections and leverage over his cronies on the floor, Alaska was lucky not to lose more Earwhacks.
Remember, Sarah was for Uncle Ted, before she back-stabbed Ted and his buddies and exposed an earlier scandal, and then asked him to step down after his conviction, which was all before she stated her support for him in public after he lost his seat and she lost her own bid for VP.
Damn, imagine the word-salad Sarah would spew explaining her way out of that?

Other posts here have already pointed to Alaska’s drastic reduction in earmark requests.
Even so, Tapper ‘per capita’ arguement is very thin. This is because of relative population densities. For instance, if the Feds give both Alaska and Illinois $100m eachto build a similar length of highway, well naturally, the per capita impact in Illinois will be lower because of its higher population density. Why do reporters become completely irrational when reporting anthing to do with Governor Palin?

I am just so happy…..I love seeing the Obama’s in the White House…I am a white american who is so tired of upity white folks yearning for the days of George Bush….LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL with the new first family….at least now I can sleep at night…..this country is moving forward and all those conservatives will die out sooner or later and we will finally have peace in this great land of ours….the era of conservatism is OVER!!!!!

“Under the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal 2001, beginning in May 2001, qualifying servicemembers can receive up to $500 a month with the new family subsistence supplemental allowance (FSSA).
The program was designed to help families currently on food stamps. Although this allowance does target those families, all total force members may apply.
A survey conducted in 1999, showed that about 6,300 military families were on food stamps. That was a dramatic drop from the 12,000 who received aid in 1995 and represents less than 1 percent of the 1.4 million men and women in uniform. Eligibility is determined by household size and combined income.”
I can’t believe some right winger would slam members of the military who protect us just because they are struggling to get by.

Michelle Obama tried to play the sympathy card with the military on food stamps.
I for one was in the military. The single persons get free food and housing. Married people either get free housing and food allowance which is quite generous. Or they get an additional allowance to rent from civilian housing if they choose which also is quite generous.
FREE MEDICAL
This is all tax free and unreported income.
The ones getting food stamps are lying to welfare about all the free things they are already getting.
