Obama and Dems Continue Mixed Messages on Torture

ABC News’ David Chalian reports:  After a rough week at the White House over the fallout of the release of the Bush era torture memos, President Obama and his team plan to use the fast approaching 100 Days peg to try and pivot back to the work they are doing on economic recovery, strong poll numbers (of course, they won’t mention those publicly much), and their healthcare and energy initiatives which have begun getting hammered out on Capitol Hill. Republican strategist Alex Conant and Democratic strategist Karen Finney appeared on ABC News’ "Top Line" to weigh in on how the Obama White House emerges from this week that took them somewhat off message. (And, of course, we couldn’t resist asking them about Meghan McCain’s taking on Dick Cheney and Karl Rove on ABC’s "The View.") We also talked with Christina Bellantoni, White House correspondent for the Washington Times, about the upcoming onslaught of "First 100 Days" coverage of the Obama administration and how the White House plans to mark what they call a Hallmark holiday.
