Overheard at the G-20

The scene: outside the immense room where President Obama will soon hold a press conference.

A reporter from state-run Chinese television approaches one of those controlling the flow of reporters in and out.

"I broadcast to one-fifth of the world. Can you get me in early?"

– jpt

UPDATE: The president just called on him!!!

The world is going nuts for Obama. I’m hearing reports of The Beatles at Fenway excitement. Hopefully he can turn that star power into a global force to put pressure on regimes that are hell bent on disrupting peoples lives. With the world united behind Obama, we can accelerate peace processes and stabilize the globe at a much faster pace.
This is a good thing.

The communist Chinese guy is being resourceful, so we should cut him a break and let him in early – right? The real story here is that one fifth of the world will see the G-20 summit through the eyes of a state-run television – really sad.

It’s exciting to realize that the entire world has an interest in what Obama has to say. Words do matter and he doesn’t waste them. The man speaks so clearly and precisely that he is easy for anyone to listen to and understand (except those who just refuse to listen to him, of course; and we have a lot of those types right here in the good ole’ USA.

I long for those halcyon days of the Bush administration, lies, deception. attacks on America, constitutional crimes, war crimes, torture, deficits and fraud budgets, no regulation,
incompetent justice department, subversion of science, religious rule of the government, …
yes, those were the good old days

“The 0bama campaign is still paying astro-turfers?”
ROFLMAO!
From someone who spread the Ashley Todd hoax that is hilarious.
Shall I post the article about the Dutch writer working for the McCain campaign putting out fake letters to the editor again?

“The Obama supporters I know are finally opening their eyes. I guess some people will just keep drinking the Kool-aid to the bitter end.”
ROFLMAO!
His approval ratings with Democrats are in the high 80′s and his approval with independents is in the 60′s.

How ’bout an investigation into Cantor’s wife’s affiliation with a bank getting bailout money, what a dope he is along with Bohener and McConnel

uhhh, uhhhh, uhhhh, in one Obama’s long-winded “answers” to the Australian reporter’s question I counted 33 times he said uhhh. What did someone say about his prolific speaking? The use of the phrase uhhhh, signifies weakness in the eyes of many world leaders. He’s weak, he shows weakness, he’s out of his league.

What’s your point? Mr. Tapper, It’s because of anything being said that you are over there. Don’t you have anything more important to report on than this. I heard you on the Bill Press radio show the AM, AND YOU PROMISED A REPORT, SO GET TO WORK ON IT!

“Why would you think Obama would want that to happen?”
Is there a nucular thingamajiggy attached to this rocket?

Obama supporters live in a filtered fantasy land where they only believe what the MSM bothers to say about him.
They should dare read some of the UK/London online newspapers if they think Obama’s smile and speeches will
spare him the critism Bush received.
They make fun of his fear of the foreign press, his teleprompter, his choice of gifts, his boring slow and meandering press conferences–even saying he makes Gordon Brown look good.
If only America could see so clearly.

I look forward to the trials of the Bush administration for crimes against America and the world.

“So, you think Obama would want a nuclear strike on Texas, huh? I guess you would like that too, huh, or why else would you make such a childish comment?”
Lighten up, Francis.

Well, if you have no evidence of any crimes after 8 years, you will be waiting a long time, won’t you?

No, actually, Democrats are well-known for seeking out alternative sources of information. It is the RIGHT who can’t be bothered to look beyond what is right under their noses. Which is why it is you and only you who constantly compains about something you by no means need to subject yourselves to. Get it?

“Well, if you have no evidence of any crimes after 8 years, you will be waiting a long time, won’t you?”
You think that the lack of a trial means that nobody has anything on them? Please. It would set a dangerous precedent and that is the only reason such a trial has not been set up.

Yeah, sure. Tip: don’t hold your breath waiting for any evidence.

That’s a laughable excuse. I’ll bet you have an excuse for everything.

Sig….
The Bush ‘justice’ department will be first, they have by their own arrogance and hubris hung themselves out to dry by their own documents and words………. once they are brought to court, it will be only a matter of time until they start to ‘rat out’ the ‘higher ups’ to save themselves…

Way out of touch! We “righties” are clearly the oens seeking alternative information sources, as the mainstream ones have clearly gone in the tank for the liberal voice in this country. If it weren’t for our blogs, alternative websites, and – yes – talk radio, we wouldn’t be able to find out the truth on many issues. You certainly can’t count on the MSM to do any investigative reporting on the left, that’s for sure! Who are you kidding here?

That is completely awesome. What a line.
Of course, Jake, I think you broadcast to 86% of the world’s right wing froot loops. But somehow I don’t think that will get you in early.

“That’s a laughable excuse. I’ll bet you have an excuse for everything.”
Nope. Watch the Frontline series “The Dark Side” and then come tell me they’re not culpable. At least culpable enough to warrant a trial. And if you think that there hasn’t been criminal activity at the executive squashed because of the precedent it would set, you’re naive.

Obama bowing to the Arabs is news!
not something overheard at the begining of a stupid press meeting with the KNEELING President!!

Of course Jake did get in early, even before the Chinese guy. You must have been folding laundry and didn’t notice.

the person that said ”
How nice, 0bama bowed to the Saudi King.
I guess if I met a powerful person in my religion, I’d bow too.”
You’re not still one of those people that think our President is a Muslim, do you? If he would have bowed to the Japanese Prime Minister (a cultural form of respect), would you have said our President is Shinto?

yeah you wouldn’t know that ‘Red State’ and yer best girl Michelle (far away look in her eyes) Bachman want an armed insurrection against the American government…. …
Your ‘truth is’ paranoia and hate.

Really, you guys don’t want to encourage a trial into the Bush Administration’s handling of the ramp up to the war. You really don’t.

Because if that chorus gets loud enough, it’s going to happen.

Unlike you, I believe people are innocent until proven guilty. When there is evidence and an indictment, then there will be a trial.
Maybe you should learn the difference of opinion from fact and then you won’t feel so angry.

re: “Maybe you should learn the difference of opinion from fact ”
too bad your boy ‘W’ didn’t do that before he started the Iraq war….

Posted by: Blue | April 2, 2009, 3:24 pm 3:24 pm

I’m not at all “angry”, btw. That’s you guys. I was angry in the early stages of the war when people began getting dead with the majority of that blood on the Bush Administration’s hands. Then I became numb to it. I’m happy now. We have an intelligent being in the White House now, who is already making significant strides towards cleaning up the mess he inherited.

You only need to read some of the posts here from the Republican/’Right’ to see further evidence of Obama’s classic statement:
“they take pride in their own ignorance”

Posted by: Blue | April 2, 2009, 3:37 pm 3:37 pm

“I’m all for due process, btw. That’s why I’d like to see a trial.”
If you were for due process, you wouldn’t be accusing Bush of crimes unless there was evidence and an indictment. Why have no charges been filed even after three years since your purported “evidence” – a PBS TV program – has aired? The truth is – you only hope Bush is guilty of crimes and don’t care if he is innocent or guilty.

Siggy
Only been a few months since your boys got kicked out,… lots of stuff to do to make things
clean again from the mess the republicans left…
give it time.. ‘W’ and the rest day in court is coming, hang in there ‘tough guy’…..
I wonder how many countries around the world besides Spain will also indict Bush & ‘friends’ on war crimes…..

“Why have no charges been filed even after three years since your purported “evidence” – a PBS TV program – has aired”
A Spanish court has taken the first steps toward opening a criminal investigation into allegations that six former high-level Bush administration officials violated international law by providing the legal framework to justify the torture of prisoners at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, an official close to the case said.

How true! This guy is brilliant. If Pb0 could steal some from that guy’s brain, he may only need 9 teleprompters, instead of 12.
