Caught My Eye: The Good Life at Gitmo

Our eyes and ears on Capitol Hill, Z. Byron Wolf, sends in Sen. Jim Inhofe’s, R-Okla., take on government run health care at Guantanamo Bay:

"Anyone, any detainee over 55 has an opportunity to have a colonoscopy. Now none of them take ‘em up on it because once they explain what it is none of them want to do it. But nonetheless its an opportunity that they have."

If GITMO must be closed move them to Alcatraz. It is sunny, cool breeze, great view, close community, U.S. owned. Good fishing for shark’s for those who want to go for a swim. Also dispersing chum to sharks to help discourage escapes and reduce cost of guards.

If they accept, do they have to reveal information to end it?

Just like those thugs the sea terrorist they call Pirates are brought to the United States to be tried. Any terrorist who choused to do harm to others, should be tried by their Justice System of that country. If they enter another country to commit a crime of terrorisms that country they should be tried under that Justice System. These acts of violence are not on behalf of any country but a bunch of thugs exciting others to join their group to commit fear and horror against others. Guantanamo Bay should have never been activated to start with. Just like Sadam had to face his peers for his horrible actions against his people. Those thugs need to face the people they hurt in the country they commit the crime against. Not in CUBA. Close the sweatshop down. Find a prison in our dessert where we can house those extreme thugs and they will be safe from the general public. This will give the Military and Civilian Justice Investigators better access to those Criminals under better supervision. Stop the nick picking of who said what, and let’s start the corrections of the wrongness we know. We really don’t give a damn of who said what. All we care for right now is what is being done and to see it don’t happen again. Health Care Starts At Home.

Would this not be another instance of someone with a Western mindset trying to convince someone raised in another culture what is good for them? Even many people in the US are against Western medicine, namely invasive procedures such as a colonoscopy.

FYI for those that say the these thugs should be tried in the country they terrorized and those that say move them to “our” dessert or (chuckle…I don’t find this funny)…Alcatraz…is just a plain ignorant statement. GITMO is/was U.S. territory! Cuba isn’t US property – Guantanamo BASE is!
I’m not saying don’t close it down or that I’m in favor of waterboarding, colonoscopies and whatnot… I’m saying they are OUR problem! It’s not a simple solution. Setting them free to their sovereign regimes/countries will do what? Get us back to the same situation that got them to Gitmo in the first place? Like I said, not an easy solution. These aren’t just average thugs!
OH…and how dare we offer them free colonoscopies? It’s an offer…they’re free to decline! Why is anyone offended by this? UGH!

Hmmm, let’s see, if these guys had slammed you against fake walls, chained you in horribly uncomfortable positions for long periods of time, blasted you with painfully loud music, kept you in hoods, threatened you with dogs, humiliated you with nakedness in front of women and generally been very nasty to you for the last seven years, would you let them do a colonoscopy on you? What a clueless jerk. My favorite was the republican yesterday who said the detainees had better health care than most Americans and the other one who said there was a breeze there so they should be glad to be there. Clueless people don’t get it that one in three Americans is either un-insured or under insured and 250,000 Americans have died since 9/11 because they couldn’t afford to go to the doctor when they got sick. The Republican party is so clueless that it’s embarrassing.

How tired I am of the continual whining by the leftist culture that assumes we all should be entitled to the same healthcare. I was privately insured as well as held private insurance on my family of four but due to divorce and lay off I am left uninsured at the moment. Thank god I am not forced into government healthcare along with my government checking acct, government motors car (the new GM ) and my government owned mortgage! Hell I am putting it all on my government run visa card anyway! Maybe if we did not give people federal tax refunds that triple or even quadruple their actual annual contribution. Like my ex who made 65k last year working for you guessed it, the government, did when she received a 5200.00 refund but had only contributed 3900.00 through the year! How gab you refund something you never received? Must be government accounting! And we want government doctors?I think not!

Ingrid, speaking of clueless…these terrorist are responsible for the deaths of our soldiers who are dying daily overseas so you can enjoy your freedom. These terrorist have also killed many of our civilians. Remember 9-11? The people that lost their husbands, wives and parents remember. So why the hell should you care if these beasts are being tortured? They deserve death as far as the families and friends of the dead are concerned! We shouldn’t even be providing those terrorist with the gift of life never mind an aspirin for a headache or pain! So you know what Ingrid…we don’t want to hear it!!!
