Next Up? Obama’s Supreme Court Pick

Here’s my report tonight on the political fallout from the historic dueling speeches Thursday by President Barack Obama and former Vice President Dick Cheney. Also, next on the agenda? Obama’s pick to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice David Souter. The president hasn’t made a final decision, but he is getting close. Will we see an announcement next week? Obama still is expected to pick either Judge Diane Wood, Solicitor General Elena Kagan or Judge Sonia Sotomayor.

President Obama should appoint a
Liberal Democrat to the
Supreme Court.
How about Colin Powell.
He’s also a flip-flopping turncoat!
How is it that the man who as
Secretary of State went to the UN and
made the case for Saddam having
mobile chemical weapons labs gets off
scott-free on WMD?
This paragon of virtue never said a
word publicly in opposition to
President Bush’s policies regarding
Iraq and Guantanimo!
In fact he resigned in 2005 after
Bush’s reelection!
Yet we heard not a word about his
opposition until 2 weeks before
election day 2008!
Please President Obama appoint
Powell to the Supreme Court so we
don’t have to listen to his meely-mouth
self-serving drivel anymore!

Brian:
They have to say no to the
Keystone Kops aka Obama and the
Democrats.
Let’s see:
Pelosi, Reid, Biden, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Tim Geithner.
Need I say more?
Yes No to the incompetence of the
above mentioned clowns.
The fact that you won an election does not give you the right to spend us
into the poorhouse and have the
Congress rubber stamp your dumb
policies!
I doubt if many of those who voted for
Mr Obama wanted him to take over the
auto industry, the banking industry etc!
Joe the Plumber called Obama out as a
socialist and he lied and denied that
he was one.
Now we are seeing the true Obama.
He is a socialist!
NO TO SOCIALISM!

George-Our Industrial Military Complex consists of groups like Benchel Engineering, the Carlysle Group and Halliburton but these firms are never mentioned by the media as to their founders and officers. Why is that?

Instead of the States starting to pass laws regarding the intrusion of the Federal Government into their domain under the Constitution, I would love to see the majority that is supposed to be running the Country pass some State initiated Constitutional Amendments that would curtail the Supreme Court’s power to pass Legislation favoring minorities and Anti-Church groups such as putting highly devisive Laws such as their Landmark decisions on National Ballots before they become Laws. There should also be Laws to Impeach Supreme Court Justices found ruling in conflict of interest cases!

I haven’t seen him do anything outside the box or daring since he started running for president. Why would I believe this any different? I predict it will be a conservative in his never ending but failed attempts to appease and mollify the republican party. And if he thinks he can get away with a man, he will. Other than being smarter, he’s not really much different from Clarence Thomas.

Ranger:
Powell was the guy who sold the UN and the American people on the idea that
Saddam had WMD!
He showed photos of “mobile chemical
weapons trucks.
If you’re going to accuse former
President Bush of deceiving the
Congress and American people about
Saddam’s WMD, Powell deserves some of
the blame.
He accepts no responsibility for the WMD fiasco or the EIT’s used on
terrorists yet he knew of both and said
nothing.
He resigned in 2005 without a peep about
either issue!
By the way it was His Deputy, Richard
Armitage who “outed” Valerie Plame!
No action has been taken against
Armitage or Powell. Why?
He’s getting a pass because he stabbed
President Bush and the Republican Party
in the back 2 weeks before the
2008 election and supported Barack
Obama.

reaganfan- Powell is a good soldier and remained one even though he was also misled at the expense of his distinguished career and service.
The right wing selling out this honored man is an absolute disgrace to the Republican party. Now they are doing it to Tom Ridge too. You may be a “fan” of Reagan, but I can assure you, Reagan would be no fan of yours.
“I’m the one who presented it on behalf of the United States to the world,” Mr. Powell told Barbara Walters of ABC News, adding that the presentation “will always be a part of my record.”
Asked by Ms. Walters how painful this was for him, Mr. Powell replied: “It was painful. It’s painful now.” Asked further how he felt upon learning that he had been misled about the accuracy of intelligence on which he relied, Mr. Powell said, “Terrible.” He added that it was “devastating” to learn later that some intelligence agents knew the information he had was unreliable but did not speak up.

Mr. Powell is a true politician. You
do not move up the ladder unless you are
good at playing politics. Powell has a
problem. Why did he not run for
President earlier?????

Newt, the womanizer, has no commitments to anything or anyone so he has little to say about the sterling record of Colin Powell. He had to resign from his position due to some financial shennigans he did so he has no right to challenge anyone especially, Colin Powell or Mrs. Sotomayer. She has excellent credentials and while I did not agree with her decision on the firehouse test, I think she will be an excellent judge. I don’t agree with the ones there now as they voted wrong on the Lily Ledbetter bill. Fortunately. President Obama saw otherwise and now women can earn the same as men in the same positions. They all miss the boat sometimes so let’s not let one decision be her career.

I am absolutely shocked at how Obama really is using the Alinsky model on us. I just finished the book and everything he has done….spend money, then say it is unsustainable…then uses it as an excuse to spend more money. I have never seen such racial divide as there is now…I am really confused…why is Obama pitting one group against another…is he just “organizing” us. That’s how an Alinsky taught community organizers to get and keep power by creating multiple fronts where conflict is growing so that no one has a chance focus on any activity. Sound familiar….his “work ethic” is really a strategy to confuse. I am soooooooooooo disappointed.
