why are we not seeing the rich pay taxes
on there 5 home-They pay less on 5 houses than we do a 60,000 home who makes 250k except ceo-etc.i worked 40 years never came close to 250k in 6 years the plant sup.plant managers etc.
Had a very good job.we are leting the world come over here on work visa no one
follows them -They do not want to give up there citizenship from spain etc.They
get grants to go to school good jobs -

Try reading other news stories on this same subject. Like the fact that the “disproportionate” payments that are going to be cut are to hospitals that serve the poor. Small part of it all, but I’ll bet that affects a LOT of people who voted for him…expecting roses, getting thorns.
I had the morbid pleasure of presenting this little plan of his to my co-worker, who worships him and believed he would make everything wonderful, split up corporations and beggar the rich. We work for a program that helps the impoverished elderly get heathcare and support. She particularly busts her behind to walk these people through the insanity that is Medicaid. The program has been hit hard by cuts already.
Oh, yeah, happy days are here. Just keep reading the positive spin…like the fact that at least the elderly won’t outnumber those “paying the tab” for much longer.

One sure way to save money for Medicare would be to cover retirees living overseas who can get much cheaper medical care in the country they live in, rather than running to the US every time they have an illness.

How come when Bush was in office he asked for many of these same cuts in Medicare and the left screamed bloody murder. Now that they are in power it is OK to make these same cuts. The left needs to get there head out of that dark place and understand that the governments first task is finacial responsibility. Until the debt of the federal government is seriously reduced we cannot spend additional dollars. If an expenditue is not a responsibility of Congress under Article 1 of the Constitution then it should not be made.

The country that is currently covering the U.S. ‘butt’ (and hence the rest of the world’s butt) is China. Without China’s financial backing the United States and its military are gone.
Apparently the ‘knowing how to spend’ just isn’t enough.

Dr. X – I beleieve what you are refering to is the following from Article 1 Section 8 “To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof.”
This says nothing about healthcare and “necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution” refers to what is actually in the constitution not what people think is in the constitution.
Once again I ask where in the Constitution is the Legislative branch or the Executive branch given the power to provide health care to the citizens.

You nailed it Jimbo! There are many in this country who now openly call for a “European style socialism” (without the high unemployment they will then naively add). I think if the USA put the heat on Europe to provide for its own military defense, they might trun even further away from socialism.
This is a very dangerous world. When the US goes further down the slippery slope it has been on since LBJ’s “great society” our status as a military superpower will wane in proportion.
