President Obama at Buchenwald

I love good morning america & all the anchors. Today talking about president Ombama’s visit to germany, nazi death camps. Chris stated many people were killed, starved, etc. This is true, however, most of these people were Jews, 6 million! That’s what the Holocast was about. I was sad to heard the Jewish experience minimized.

Obama’s former campaign advisor Samantha Power wrote an essential book about how America has historically dealt with its knowledge of genocides occuring. It’s called “A Problem from Hell: America and the Age of Genocide” (2002).
In it she writes, “The United States had never in its history intervened to stop genocide and had in fact rarely even made a point of condemning it as it occurred.”
Obama recently appointed her to the National Security Council this year.
It would be interesting to hear what she’s currently working on.

not surprising you would make those assumptions … for most people it’s obvious that Obama spoke to the Muslim world one and addressed historical and current events, and then the next day all to clearly explains the horrors of Nazi Germany, assails the holocaust deniers, including the Iranian president, and by being at the death camp presents in a starkness not achievable by any other means, the history and concerns of Israel surrounded by Arab nations.
Today, we find many using the Nazis as a cheap way to complain about some of Obama’s policies, or Obama himself,.
this, to be sure is a great disservice to the brave veterans of WW2,… and all others who fought and dies in that war,.. as it minimizes the struggle and terrible events of those times.
‘Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it’…. one of the truer ‘cliches’ you will hear, but as you can see today, the false comparisons of current day America to 1930′s Germany by angry ideologues should be a warning to the rest of us that they have already forgotten what actually happened.
