‘This Week’ Sunday Exclusive: Secretary of State Hillary Clinton
"This Week's" exclusive headliner this Sunday is Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
It's her first Sunday show interview as Secretary of State and her first Sunday show since her presidential campaign ended one year ago this week.
Six months into her job, Secretary Clinton has traveled to 18 countries and territories. On her plate — some of the most pressing issues facing the Obama administration: U.S. relations with Israel, Iran, China, Cuba, and North Korea's latest nuclear positioning, to name a few.
Also, with us Sunday on the 'This Week' Roundtable to discuss Obama's foreign policy message, health care reform wrangling on Capitol Hill, GM bankruptcy and all of the week's politics: ABC contributor George Will, ABC correspondent and Womenomics co-author Claire Shipman, Republican strategist Matthew Dowd, and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution columnist Cynthia Tucker.

George,
Could you please ask the Sec. of State what the U.S. will do if Israel attacks Iranian enrichment facilities?

I’d like to see that clip of Hillary criticizing Bush for begging the Saudi king for more oil. Isn’t that also appropriate for Obama’s visit? Where’s Hillary’s criticism of Obama for doing the same thing? Oh, you know those hypocrites!

George, would you please ask Hilary how she can have such different ideals since BO became Pres? I am so disappointed in her. Surely she is able to speak out on such blatantly wrong policies!

I can’t wait to hear her insights from having traveled to Asia and the Middle East. So far it is great to see this administration reaching out to world rather than alienating them.

George: Pleas ask Mrs Clinton why this administration now says it’s o.k. for Iran to pursue nuclear energy while Mrs. Clinton now claims “if there were agreements, they weren’t official policy” regarding natural growth of settlements.Agreements with the Israeli’s were not “official” policy, but, campaign promises regarding Iran’s nuclear program have now become “words, just words”?

George, can you tell Hillary that we are very proud of her and we see the world is safer because she’s there working for us; and we believe in her so badly.

Mr. Will,
Have you no shame? you should review
history books more often… enough lies and fact twisting to suit your benifactors.

What an incredible interview, George! Thank you so much for affording all of us the opportunity to witness Madam Secretary Clinton’s honesty and candor during your interview with her this morning.
For what it’s worth, I hold both you and Secretary Clinton in the highest regard. Why, you ask? As I see it, George, you have never shyed away from asking the difficult questions, and Madam Secretary Clinton has never once placed herself before country! You are both to be commended for your continued efforts and service.
Words cannot begin to express how proud and impressed I am that Madam Secretary Clinton chose to serve President Obama and our nation – even after falling just shy of victory during last years primary challenge. No doubt, many of us would have allowed bitterness and envy to dictate our actions. After all, it’s so easy to let our emotions dictate our behavior… Senator Clinton could have declined President Obama’s request to serve as Secretary of State; but, as I see it, would not have been possible where this unquestionably patriotic American hero is concerned. Madam Secretary Clinton is a loyal and proud American!
I can state with absolute conviction that many of our heroic servicemen and servicewomen hold Madam Secretary Clinton in the highest esteem. And yes – without a doubt, there is no higher calling, nor greater sacrifice than to represent our nation when we are called upon.
All of us are well served to have such an intensely committed, honest, articulate and brilliant public servant representing our nation! Thank you Madam Secretary, and thank you, George, for the interview. Godspeed!
