<description>Take the premiums out of the hands of the employer, he is not responsible for you. Premiums should be based on income, and paid through income taxes. Universal care is necessary for the global economy. Workmans comp, unemployment, disability, etc., should be the responsibility of the individual and paid based on income. We must reduce the cost of production to be globally competitive. Employers currently pay premiums for workmans comp and private insurance for employees, that is double the necessity. Simply shift the premiums to the individual, and to the government. Also incorporate auto insurance medical into the pool.
We are currently spending 16% GDP for health care, while other countries are only paying 8%. If we pay for the 30 mil people that don&#039;t have insurance we still will have about 30% left for R&amp;D.
For Malpractice lawsuits, simply require a private no fault policy to be purchased by everyone, make its payments relative to lifetime income. The premiums should be minimal and affordable.

<description>Congess needs to read the bill, put it out and let we the people read the bill and then they (our representives) can say the pro&#039;s and con&#039;s. Then people can go look for that part of the bill and read it for themselves. Then if somebody wants an amendment to the bill that includes or excludes something. Put there names to it and let us read about it, and if the representives do not want to put something in put there names to it and say who is blocking it.

		<description>Matt said: &quot;this is just a preliminary report from an anti-Obama, shipshod office.&quot;
Is a report from the New York Times good enough for you, Matt?
Furthermore, Jared Polis, a freshman Colorado Democrat voted against the bill and 20 others stated they were extremely concerned the proposed method of paying for health care reform will negatively impact small businesses, the backbone of the American economy.

		<description>@ MSP, ster, &amp; Rus
Page 16 does NOT say that you can&#039;t enroll in private insurance plans. You cannot take a section or subsection out of context and ignore the rest of that section. That section refers to grandfathered insurance policies. That means that any policy that is made on the day the bill becomes law or after that date will not be considered to be grandfathered.
In other words, by not considering new policies to be grandfathered, the new policies will have to abide by the new rules which include limits on pre-existing conditions and other things. If the new policies do not abide by those limits, then they are illegal. However, the grandfathered policies can ignore those limits because they were made before the rules were changed.

<description>The US is the only 1st world country in the world without health insurance for its citizens, and soon China will be wealthier in GDP terms.
Bottom line, all the people complaining and doom-saying health care reform are assuming they will still have their private insurance (or be able to afford it), in 2015.
Many will eventually lose their own insurance, or will not be able to afford it, 8 to 10 years from now if things stay the same.
20 cents out of every dollar will be spent either on co-pays, prescriptions, premiums, and other health related things even if you have insurance.
That leaves less money for everything else (like food/mortgage/other).
By then no one will care how much it will cost and will demand reform, but it&#039;ll already be way too late.

<description>Lets take our time and after the break
we can get into the election season, peel off a few vulnerable Dems, and in
sixty additional years, while still
listening for the pop,the true &quot;powers
that be&quot; will have what they want.
The status quo IS good for some
people. All they have to do is delay.

<description>I have become increasingly satisfied with what has come from the CBO. I understand that the administration has largely ignored or disagreed with what they have said but at least some official common sense is coming from someone. Too bad it hasn&#039;t been from someone who can actually do something.
