MoveOn Launches Anti-Palin Ad

ABC News' David Chalian Reports:  On her first full day as the former governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin's political opponents are making sure to keep her in the political spotlight.  MoveOn.org Political Action launched a new 30-second television ad today painting Gov. Palin as "the new face of Republican opposition to clean energy."  The ad points to Gov. Palin's July 14 op-ed in the Washington Post where she called President Obama's cap-and-trade energy plan an "enormous threat to our economy."

Move.On.org urges viewers to call their representatives in Congress and tell them "don't side with Sarah."”Sarah Palin has a lot more free time on her hands now, and it appears she’s decided to lead the Republican Party in attacking a strong clean energy jobs plan that could jump start our economy and create millions of jobs,” said Justin Ruben, Executive Director of MoveOn.org. “Congress needs to think long and hard about whose side they’re on: Sarah Palin’s or the millions of Americans who would benefit from the creation of green jobs.” The ad, clearly timed to get some free media pickup in the non-stop news accounts of Sarah Palin's farewell, will run on national cable for one week.

A clear majority of voters find the Sarah Palin “brand” highly unfavorable. Joining her at the hip with the already highly unfavorable republicans on capital hill seems perfectly natural.

Perhaps, she should not be a presidential candidate. She does seem to be a solid patriot a defender of working Americans and American values. This is preferable to the various flavors of globalism offered by Bush and Obama. The Republicans and Democrats need more candidates. The cheap labor Republicans McCain, McConnel and Bush and the leftist anti-American (Pelosi, Reid, Obama and Levin) don’t represent American workers.

Oh yeah i am a member of move on .org and proud of it. thanxs to their agenda we help win the white house. You conservatives are poor losers and you continue to act like you won the election, guess what you lost. So Move On.

Sarah Palin has move going for her than any of you losers that keep attempting to take her down. I actually spoke to someone from Alaska recently and they all loved her and thought that she would make an honorable President of the United States. I do agree so keep on giving her all the negative attention and she will beat the pants off of BO in the next election.
It is time for the people to talk and run this country the way it was intended instead of the way that things are going now with your new messiah.
He never was mine and he never will be. I will take all the time and energy necessary to stop the treasonist acts from continuing to our wonderful UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

I doubt Sara Palin would be taken seriously in any political venture she may try.

As for the “starlets,” seemed to be alluding to actress Ashley Judd, who targeted the former governor on behalf of an environmental group for supporting aerial wolf hunting.
Warning of “anti-hunting, anti-Second Amendment circuses from Hollywood,” Palin said advocacy groups “use these delicate, tiny, very talented celebrity starlets.”
She offered such individuals this message: “By the way, Hollywood needs to know: We eat, therefore we hunt.”
Palin, You order the slaughter of wolf’s and the gassing of pup’s in Den’s to EAT!?
Then you serve hotdogs at your speech…….
We are just now getting Eagles back in Michigan because of Wolfs….Eagles eat wolf remains which helps them to remain here….you wipe out the wolves you will be eating weak and diseased animals. Wolves have more family values and Ethics than Palin ever will.

Well said! Bravo! The Republican messiah Bush had labeled all wildlife advocates and environmental groups terrorists, but we must remember that all Republicans will deny that. If I am a terrorist, then so be it. I will continues to fight for wildlife and aerial gunning of wolves and bears is a barbaric and cruel method of wildlife management. In addition, gassing wolf pups in their dens is equally as cruel. The white population of Alaska will always side with Palin forgetting that their are Native Alaskan Americans living in the state that depend on hunting as well and not for sport. Killing predators to boost ungulate populations is a recipe for disaster leading to disease, starvation, or both.
Palin claims not to be a quitter yet she steps down when the going got tough and she deserves everything she is getting and has gotten from the media and the public. Bye, Bye, Barracuda! You don’t have a prayer in 2012. There are more Americans out there than you realize that love clean air, clean water, green jobs, green energy, wolves, wild horses, and bears and we will stand together and fight for those that cannot fight for themselves. Man does not own this land, Sarah Palin. The animals are OUR landlords and always will be and you had NO RIGHT to play GOD with their lives
Move on Republican Americans! Your days of dragging the rest of us through the mud are over!

I so wish the angry and scary zealots of Move On (not to suggest for a minute that there aren’t some real nutso Palin-ite kooks out there either) could recognize that the rest of us—the great middle of the political spectrum who live normal lives in this country–are sick of this!!!! We find the preoccupation with Sarah and her family from the far left, and the incredible outlay of money being used to trash her, to be unnecessary, obscene and disgusting. Move On, maybe there’s a crumbling hospital or a homeless shelter, or even a whole small town out there in financial trouble which could benefit mightily from your bankroll and from your outlay of “gold”? Have you lost ALL sense of proportion? Do you have any idea how out of touch this all makes you look? Are you TRYING to be a laughingstock organization?

I’m no liberal, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night and I’m more than a little embarassed to admit I graduated some years earlier from the same institution as Ms. Palin. Unlike many of us, she, in fact, did “fall off the lumber truck.” She is truly the living definition of the phrase, “if you can’t dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with a storm of b.s.” She will keep providing great material for late night comedians, until the MSM tires of her and moves on. In the meantimes, ROCK ON-DINGBAT FROM DILLINGHAM!

I like the comment that said all Alaskan’s love her. I lived in Alaska for two years… Some people like some people hate her. Just like any other political figure. Just because you talk to one person doesn’t mean you can speak for everyone in the state.
Yes move on.org is a liberal group. I’m sure that the republicans can’t stand them and consider everything that they say to be a lie or some kind of horrible attack.
Like the Dems find the operations of the swift boating of Kerry terrible lies and attacks funded by republican groups like the K street project, Bob J. Perry, Jerry Farwell, and others.
Obama isn’t anti-American
Bush isn’t anti-American
McCain isn’t anti-American
Pelosi-isn’t anti-American
Palin was the political figure who was suggesting that some places in our country were truly American and the rest were filled with people who weren’t Americans… That is a pretty damning thing to say.
The right wing need to get over the fact that they lost the election. Stop acting like three year olds… If they truly love America, they should try to help solve the problems that are facing our country and stop just being the party of no. no. no.

I find these musings about Sarah Palin’s intellect and future aspirations to be very interesting. If she has “little intelligence, political ability and knowledge of the facts”, why is she all over both liberal and conservative news outlets? She should be a non-issue, especially with people who would never vote for her should she decide to run for national office. For someone who has such “little skill”, she sure has caused quite a stir. In the words of William Shakespeare: “Me thinks thou dost protest too much!”
To its detriment, the liberal media is stubbornly blind to a conservative, non-partisan ground swell of angst steadily growing across this country against the policies of the current presidential administration. This grassroots movement is based on the simple constitutional fact that it’s the PEOPLE who rule in a democracy, not the Executive Branch and its current acquiescent mouthpiece, the liberal media.
I look forward to see what Sarah Palin might do in the future, as she is now no longer a “public servant”, but a private citizen and has some legal leverage to thwart the multitude of attacks that come her way. My common sense tells me that we haven’t seen anything yet!

Moveon is a Marxist waste of time and energy. Let them spend their lives trying to keep their loser President in office as he throws away our money and freedom.
The longer Obama and his thugs are around, the more the people will see what a mistake they made. Next step will be to find someone who can clean up his mess.
Palin will be a great person to set this country back on the right track.

Goodbye, Sarah. You say you are quitting because you are a lame-duck governor who wouldn’t be able to get her agenda accomplished. Well, honey, EVERY POLITICIAN becomes a lame ducker at the end of their term. You are no different than anyone else in that respect. You can’t stand the heat and got out of the kitchen. I hope you do run for President in 2012. You have a pretty face and a great pair of legs and that’s about it. God help the GOP if they choose you again for their ticket.

The media needs to stop focusing their attention on Sarah. Her fifteen minutes have been up for quite sometime. They continue to elevate her based on banality. If McCain hadn’t chosen her as a VP candidate she would just have remained the governor of Alaska.
Now she has gotten a taste of what it would be like to be in a higher position and has bailed on her commitment to Alaska. Now that’s leadership!!!!
I guess she is taking a calculated risk believing that she is the best the Republicans has to offer this country. Heaven help us all!!!! The Republican party is showing her at a 70% approval rating. Why? What is she selling exactly? What is all the commotion about this woman?
I will confess she has a flair for the oratory. But, does she have the means to pen the words herself?
Sarah better stay up late and start reading all those publications she alluded to during the campaign.
Has the Rosetta Stone come out with courses in economics, foreign affairs or geography 101? No, I guess she is alright in this respect, she knows where Russia is.
We just completed a eight year term with an idiot in the White House. Do we really need a repeat performance anytime soon?

Why this constant attack ?? Perhaps because thay are conviced they have a real powerful voice on her ?? If she wasn’t then the media won’t be speaking so much about her and their will not be attacking her. I think these attacks are nothing but fear to loose a race against her. At the end VOTERS are the ONLY ones who will decide the outcome.

Joanne , Obama has a lot of flair and right now I can say that Bush had a very approval rating than Obama on the same time period. The Mesiah is showing BIG cracks on his ability to lead. He cannot articulate his message on Healthcare except on prearraged televised news conferences and he just gives vague points.Over 73% believe we are heading on the wrong direction. Soon or later YOU ALL have to accept the facts.I have a new motto for you “2012 Change you can believe on “”

Obama and his band of crooks keep pulling us further down. I’m an ex-democrat that realized people like timmytee and Soros are the rule rather than the exception. the dems will keep picking on Palin because they know she has a lot of people backing her because of her beliefs. Because she hunts and fishes indicates she’s a man’s wman. Obama will have a short stay in the oval office even with all the illegal and dead people’s vtes.

OOoooo, one of these wingnuts ACTUALLY SPOKE to SOMEONE in ALASKA and therefore is deluded into thinking that “they all support her” No, the only “They” who support her are the religioso jerks in some of the secluded compounds made up of entirely wacko bible thumpers. Many little stallags in AK are like that – trust me, I know better than someone who “actually spoke to someone in Alaska.” I lived there fourteen years. Palin does not have even a majority, much less unanimous, support, by Alaskans and the rest of the United States clearly considers her a joke (except for her religioso ilk). Please stop posting on things you know nothing about. The woman is incompetent, incoherent and history.

As always, a small but vocal segment of the American population go fo all form and no content. They love Sarah, they think she stands for “Americans” (but don’t exactly define what that means), but, when forced to explain themselves, they reveal, not surprisingly, the following:
- They know next to nothing about her record, what she has done and said during her public life, aside from her canned speeches and op-ed pieces(written for her by someone else).
- They like her because of her one-liners, because of her looks, and because she seems like she is “one of them.” Not because of her experience, knowledge, actions, but because she looks at the camera, winks, and talks like a working class person.
- They do not know, or do not realize, that she is not working class and is in fact one of the elite, albeit inexperienced and poorly informed.
- They do not realize that she has committed substantial breeches of ethics, which are a matter of record.
- In other words, they “fell like they know her”, but do not in fact know anything substantial or important about her.
So, America, will we continue buying the pretty cool package without bothering to look inside? Is this the only nation with a substantial segment of the electorate this shallow and uninterested in facts?
Pump your fists in the air, yell woop! woop! and vote for the winker with the lipstick. But watch out, there is nothing there.
