Behind the Scenes at the White House
EmailFrom ABC News' Sunlen Miller: Periodically the White House photo department releases photos showing behind-the-scenes moments at the White House. In new pictures released we learn a few new things about the Obama White House – via still photos – that we don’t normally see in public. A large sampling of the photos can be seen HERE. Obama puts his dukes up on health care, and “feigns” a punch while huddling about the topic de jour of the month with Director of the White House Office on Health Reform Nancy-Ann Deparle, OMB director Peter Orszag, top legislative aide Phil Schiliro, and economic advisor Larry Summers outside the Oval office. And the ever-present basketball influence in the West Wing, the baller in chief playing pickup games at Camp David with family and staffers or keeping those Obama-branded basketballs pumped up. The First Dog, Bo Obama, sports – rather narcissistically – an “I love Obama” leash. And the tech-savvy president jumps on his Secretary’s computer to check out a new computer application, called the IT Dashboard created by the administration. The president partaking in a little in-store sampling of a peach at Kroger’s Supermarket in Bristol, which the White House explains in the caption that Obama “seconds later” paid a dollar for. -Sunlen Miller

Obama commits 2 billion US dollars in loans to help a Brazilian oil giant drill offshore while Soros buys up it’s stock.
Meanwhile, offshore drilling on the US coast is a no no.

Yes I will join in the chorus of absolutely stunned people who are wondering why Obama is lending a huge Brazilian oil company $2billion to drill for oil, when we don’t HAVE $2billion to spare and when Obama won’t even let American companies drill for oil.
And what do you think the chances of the mainstream media asking this question are? Virtually nil. We really need to do something about the criminal Chicago thug who is currently squatting in the White House.

Guys, I think you miss the joke. I thought it was pretty funny, myself. Ms. Miller’s article suggests the DOG is narcissistic– because he is an Obama, a BO Obama, and his leash says, “I love Obama.” So it’s “I love myself” basically. That’s narcissism– he loves himself. Lighten up and stop jumping to conclusions that your beloved Chosen One himself is under attack.
Now whether the Commander in Chief’s branded basketballs similarly display narcissism on his part is another question. There was no editorializing to suggest the author thinks he is. Your mileage may well vary.

I think it is very revealing to see how the people around Obama aim to please him by getting all these Obama branded leashes, basketballs, etc… Could you imagine the people in your office worshiping the CEO in such a way? Wouldn’t that just creep you out? I like being praised as much as the next guy, but as soon as someone starts putting my name on everything and then surrounding me with it (we’re not talking campaign time) I would feel extremely self conscious and I would have to put a stop to it. Did stuff like this happen with previous presidents? I don’t remember Clinton, who’s picture is next to the definition of narcissist in Websters, having this extreme sycophantic behavior exhibited by his staff.

If Brazil can take full advantage of its oil resources, then it becomes a counterweight to Chavez who has been using Venezuela´s oil to “make friends” in the region. Lending Brazil the money sounds like a sound diplomatic strategy to me.
It would be interesting to get a full story on ALL the money Washington is sending to Latin America for one reason or the other. Unfortunately, Latin America rarely makes the news but it has great relevance to the US than Africa.

I don’t think we get to see or hear enough about Obama. I think we need an Obama channel ( I don’t mean MSNBC) that all TVs automatically tune to. Clearly the major networks are not enough to sate the appetite of the masses for more Obama.
Aside from that, I remember a time when Presidents put the Presidential seal all over everything. Clearly the Obama logo is now a higher order than the Presidential seal….At least in someone’s mind. (hint his name rhymes with, “a-rock” )
