Coming Up: EXCLUSIVE: Robert Gibbs, Tom Daschle and Bob Dole on Obama’s Final Push on Health Care
Next week President Obama aims to take charge of the health care debate with a prime time speech to Congress.
Sunday, we’ll get an exclusive preview from White House Press Secretary and top Obama
advisor Robert Gibbs. What’s Obama’s
strategy going forward?
Next, a special health care roundtable with former Senate Majority leaders Tom Daschle and Bob Dole, Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN), chairman of the House Republican Conference and Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA). Daschle and Dole laid out a bipartisan health care reform plan earlier this year. But this week Daschle advised that if Republicans and Democrats can’t agree, Democrats should go it alone, while Dole recommended that it was time for the President to start over.
Then to our roundtable. George Will made big news this week with his Washington Post column "Time to Get Out of Afghanistan.” Two weeks ago George told me on ‘This Week’ that the US counterterrorism strategy was off the mark. “Clear, hold, build. They can't hold it because they can't stay there,” Will said. “And when they leave, the Taliban comes back.
Therefore, what's the point in clearing? I think the American people are right
about this.”
His column on Afghanistan – and now one on Iraq- have provoked a lot of debate even a rebuttal from the Secretary of Defense. We’ll debate Iraq and the rest of the week’s politics with ABC’s Matthew Dowd, The Nation’s Editor Katrina vanden Heuvel and David Sanger,
Chief Washington Correspondent for The New York Times and of course George Will.
You won't want to miss this. See you Sunday.

Santorum: Money Will Not Defeat Obama, Ideas Will
Rick Santorum's Full Speech at CPAC 2012
No matter what Obama does, there are a bunch that will criticize him without basis. These pundits are demonstrating a delayed reaction to abolishment of slavery, civil rights, etc….They believe they lost their country and their rights.
You will NEVER be able to please them. They will use their “conservetive” values and principles when it is convinient for them. I agree with Daschle advise. Let’s do it.

Obama’s strength of character will keep him moving forward on healthcare. It is the right thing to do. Unfortunately ethics, integrity and basic core values have been lost by enough of our politicians that there is now no sensible debate. President Obama has to rise above the fray and hold true to what he knows we need in healthcare reform….and we do need it.

Michelle doesn’t know her history. If she did she would know that abolishment of slavery to the the civil rights movement was done by republicans. The democrats weren’t called Dixiecrats for nothing. The three kids murdered by the KKK in the 50′s were republicans. Welfare US racism because it’s the democrats way of saying minorities aren’t smart enough to take care of themselves. Think Lincoln.

Kim has comprehension problem. A bunch does not equate to all republicans. Also yeterday’s republicans is not the Kim has comprehension problem. A bunch does not equate to all republicans. Also yesterday’s republicans is not the same as today’s bunch of republican’t (because they can’t). If you don’t know the difference, study your history.
Now Kim, the proper way of addressing a new system is to discuss need, concept, and finally approach. Don’t mix them up or you will end up looking like the frustrated illiterates who yell at town hall meetings.

What the healthcare bill doesn’t say may be more critical than what it does say. We all know how the government tends to misinterpret plain English like the First Amendment. So when the Congressional Research Service notes that the healthcare bill has no provision for requiring those seeking coverage or services to provided proof of citizenship we can assume that illegals will be covered (and our old friend the ACLU will make cetain of it). The same applies to abortion and that is why any specific amendment to preclude abortion has been voted down along the party line (what do democrats have against precious little babies?)
So it appears that the myths about illegals and abortion are being spread by Obama, Reid, Pelosi, et. al. My guess is that death panels using Comparative Effectiveness Research (CEP was also tucked neatly into the unread stimulus bill) falls into the same category!

MICHELLE…MICHELLE…If you mean the word as you spelled it, you are right…I am very “conservetive” of my values and principles (note: to save you some time, that spelling means “to protect from loss or harm….preserve…conserve our national heritage in the face of bewildering change.” Thanks for agreeing with the majority.

George: Please ask Gibbs why there are so many radicals in key czar positions-marxists, anticapitalists in an American govt. They were not elected; they were appointed by the Pres. You cannot allow him to dismiss Jones as a smear campaign. In his own words he is a severe radical. Sen Byrd questioned the czars months ago, claiming that it is upsetting the checks and balances between the exec and legis branches of our govt. The media needs to question these things.

Thank you George, for an excellent show this week. I so appreciate the differing opinions from reputable folks that help me understand the issues and formulate my own. After today’s show I say, YES, let’s GET OUT of Afghanistan and focus the effort at home – let’s stop feeding this bottomless hole with our young men’s lives and our dollars. Let’s put both to work at home to strengthen and BUILD both.

George Will has again demonstrated his ultra-Right Wing, ultra-extremist position on virtually everything.
His comment “I don’t care if he (President) tells them (students) to “. . . and floss after brushing,” it is not the Federal government’s job to raise our children.”
Exactly how is asking students to make good life decisions considered “raising our children?”
Mr. Will personifies the ultra Right-Wing – those committed to saying NO whenever President Obama says YES. Anyone with a clear sense of what is going on in Washington today will affirm one thing. The Republican Party, particularly the ultra-Right Wing extremists, has and will forsake the good of the general populous to vent their own rage over the election of President Obama.
Essentially, it is “screw the public, we’re gonna get this guy!” This is indisputable.

Exactly right right saftgek,I’ve been saying the same SINCE INAGURATION DAY!!Repubs come up with anything and everything to defeat the Prez from day ONE.If they can’t find an issue they make one up.I already see Democrat pushback on the way in response to the Healthcare Corp. Meatpuppet behavior.WE are going to HAVE to ramp up just like for an election cycle to help push common sense healthcare legislation.

I wish George would omit panelists who understand the constitution. Katrina Vanriva Heuvel demands health care to be a “right” not a priveledge. Excuse me but the constitution acknowledges a “right” as God given and a “prevelege” as government given.
How can our country possibly solve problesm when we have people in leadership roles who are ignorant of common sense and what this country use to be about.

The issue isnt the President speaking to students, the issue is the fact that he is going to have them fill out questionaires after. It is a way to collect information to help in marketing his agenda.
Psychology my friends.

We hear all views, and get confused, we’re great America, we need to listen, read and then comment on views. We voted for everything the president stood by, give the man a chance, he’s not even a year in office, and everyone is all upset, because it hasn’t been a “Quick Fix” as we’re all used too. You need to know what has been done, and how we are managing to get out of the mess George, and Chaney put us in, with all due respect to the good republicans who stood by and did nothing
as we sank!
