Dole – Petraeus for 2012: Why Not?
Bob Dole played pundit (and potential candidate!) this morning, following up on this report by floating David Petraeus for President.
GEORGE: "Tell me about Petraeus for President?"
DOLE: "Well it seemed like a good idea at the time." [laughter] "But, I don’t know him, I haven’t met him, I don’t know him, don’t know his politics, so he may be in the other the party… but he always impressed me by being very candid with the American people, laying it all out there. Kind of like an Eisenhower. He may not be verse in all the kind of things we do in Congress and in the Administration, but he’s a quick study.
GEORGE: "So would you like to see him on the ticket for the Republicans?"
DOLE: "Sure why not, maybe I can run with him."

Santorum: Money Will Not Defeat Obama, Ideas Will
Rick Santorum's Full Speech at CPAC 2012
I guess for me the question is: Does he follow Ron Paul’s foreign policy or that of the neocons. If it is the latter, then he will not receive my vote.

This headline grabbed me on Twitter only to read this and find there’s nothing to it. Why was a headline made out of offhand comments?

Geriatric patient Bob Dole appears on Sunday morning talk show to proclaim
Petraeus for President – Dole proclaims he’d be his running mate
Srapping the bottom and slithering in muck now.

Let me get this straight. Dole knows nothing at all about Petraeus (he said he didn’t know him twice) but he would like to see him run for president?? Question: why was this man on the roundtable??? Isn’t ol’ George Will yawning remarks bad enough????

Matthew Dowd and George Will, on ABC Sunday Morning w/George Stephanopoulos more like gang banging Obama! Typical Right wing 9/11 sabotage! When discussing Education, Afghanistan, Obama’s speach to kids, they just attacked Obama; not the issue!!
Right wing Alkida is trying to bring down Obama like the terrorist took down the twin towers!

Maybe Petraeus isn’t a Republican. Republicans need stop reaching for stars and try to build candidates bases on solid ideas and good governing. Can’t they find someone who meets that criteria?

It’d be nice to finally have a man who is not a career politician in the white house. Especially a man who can be likened to Eisenhower, Washington, and Patton and less like the silver spoon elitists that we see in the Clintons, Kerrys, and Obama types.

cmstombach,
Your leftist rants are why Obama is losing support. Every time lefstists trail they panic revealing their true colors and repulsing average Americans.

Please, this is just ludicrous. Dole is 110! Wounded war vets are not owed the presidency as a thank you. I thought we made that clear to John Mc Cain.

I’m talking about Petraeus not Dole. Dole is a dinosaur who needs to stay out of any presidential or vice presidential race. Like McCain he is another old koot. Petraeus exhibited the honesty and backbone of the likes we haven’t seen in decades and yes more backbone and honesty than any of the Bush’s.

George Stephanopoulos,
I commend your choice of having Katrina vanden Heuval on your show this Sunday. She speaks truth to power and it would behoove you to have others on the show that would make your program a little more “adult”. Senator Bernie Sanders, Rachel Maddow, Congressman Dennis Kucinich, Senator Russ Feingold to name a few. These people are what America needs proven facts. Please refrain from continuing to have George Will’s commentary every Sunday, his rhetoric of late has been meaningless. Last Sunday he mentioned our President should stop speaking and do something. This smacks of racism so affluent in the Republican party of late. George Will should be the one who should learn to shut up until he has something of value to say. Language is the way we learn and if the President of the United States should stop speaking I doubt we would have a Democracy at all. Will should take some time to read great speeches from past presidents. Will also mentions we should get out of Afghanistan, although I agree with him, where was he when his President “George Bush” took us into the illegal war/occupation in Iraq. George Will had nothing to say then and his silence spoke volumes.
