Iranian Foreign Minister Makes Rare Visit to DC

ABC News' Kirit Radia reports: The US granted Iran’s Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki a visa to make a rare visit to the country’s unofficial diplomatic presence in Washington, DC today, the State Department said. Mottaki was approved to visit Iran’s Interest Section, technically under the auspices of the Pakistani embassy but in a separate building, but there are no plans for US officials to meet with him, according to Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs PJ Crowley. “There are no plans that he will meet with anyone from the United States government, and I'm not aware of any plans that he would meet with anyone on behalf of the United States government,” Crowley told reporters. Asked why the US would grant Iran’s top diplomat a visa to come to Washington less than a week after the US and others revealed a secret Iranian nuclear facility and one day before the countries sit down in Geneva to discuss Tehran’s nuclear program, Crowley replied: “I think we're far more interested in having Iran come tomorrow to Geneva, and we hope that they will be the ones who are offering gestures that they are ready to address the concerns that the international community has. I wouldn't read too much into this. It was a straightforward request, and we granted it.” Crowley said he believed the request to come to Washington was received and granted within 24 hours of his visit. A spokesman for the Pakistani embassy says the Pakistanis were not informed of Mottaki’s visit before he arrived. Calls to the Iranian Interest Section were not answered.

In town to plan Obama’s “grip and grin” with Ahmadinejad. It will probably happen next year on the anniversary of The Mahdi’s stolen election.

He knows the Barack Obama is a weak man. And dumb.
How dumb? Obama is so dumb that he took a six figure book for his memior but had William Ayers write it for him. All Obama did was drop off a few boxes of notes and interview tapes.
All of William Ayers’ style comes through; for example, the triple-dependent clause. Monkeys riding the backs of water buffalo. Nautical analogies. Same green-eyed girlfriend whose father owned a country estate with a lake in the back yard.
Yes Obama is weak. And now the Iranians will have their way with him.

—Let me be clear: visas for members of the Burmes junta, visas for members of A’jad’s terrorist government, but no visas for members of the government in Honduras, which expelled a wanna-be Chavez-style tyrant with the consent of the country’s constitutional court and its democratically elected legislature.
One sharp observer suggests that the Iranian foreign minister is “perhaps looking at properties for when they reopen an EMBASSY — I am not joking.”— (Weekly Standard)

You have so little on Obama you have to repeat the same pathetic lines over and over . . . it’s quite revealing.

OK then:
- Obama leaving his signature domestic reform — health care — in the hands of people least likely to come up with a plan palatable to a majority of Americans.
- Within six months of assuming office, the Democrats’ left and center wings are at each other’s throats.
- A cap and trade bill so horrendously corrupt and mismanaged that its passage in the House marked the first time in years that Republicans out-polled Democrats on the generic congressional ballot.
- A candidate who called Afghanistan “the necessary war,” is now on his second major review, just since March, of how to fight it.
- Never meeting once face-to-face with the general in charge of commanding that “necessary war.”
- Telling the world Gitmo was evil, then leaving it open for business.
- Sitting on intelligence, until just this Friday, showing that Iran’s WMD program is more advanced than feared.
- Selling out Eastern Europe to the Russians. We haven’t had a Democrat do that since Roosevelt.
- A foreign policy initiative for Iran which relies on the idea of both China and Russia not selling stuff to somebody with cash to spend?
- Bailing out banks with hundreds of billions of dollars, yet still without removing a single toxic asset.
- Signing a non-stimulating stimulus so massive that Americans are afraid of deficits for the first time since Ross Perot went around screaming about his crazy aunt.
- A Democrat under threat of scaring off the AARP vote?
- Most anything involving Joe Biden.

Sarah Palin’s memoir “Going Rogue” is scheduled to be released in November but has already hit #1 at Amazon and Barnes & Noble. It’s rumored that the book was actually ghost-written by the Rev. Jerry Falwell.

the frantic rants and desperate talking points issued by the ‘right wing town clowns’ everyday are exactly what the majority of America needs to see and hear…
As Obama tries to rescue the country from 8 years of Bush/Cheney, republicans and the fringe play the role of ‘chicken little’ calling out ‘the sky is falling’… ‘birthers’, ‘deathers’, ’10-thers’, ‘tea partyers’, lions, tigers and bears…. oh my.
next you’ll be hearing that Obama is responsible for the extinction of the dinosaurs.
republicans/right-wingers are a fascinating study in the devolution and fall of a political party into a self destructive cloistered cult..

—Joe Biden keeps talking about the fabulous improvement on the economy he’s seen from the stimulus, but thus far, those effects have mostly been limited to the White House. Initial jobless claims rose last week to 551,000, 17,000 more than the previous week and 12,000 more than analysts predicted. Americans spent more last month, but that mainly came from the Cash for Clunkers program.—
