Thank God for Obama’s leadership. The special interests are out in full force to torpedo this plan. We need a public option. I’m an American living in the UK these days. There is both private health insurance AND public health care here. I love the fact that if I lose a job to layoffs while corporate execs get huge bonuses, I don’t lose my health care too. At least I retain my health which, to me, is the most important thing. America, Wake up and get on board. Don’t buy into the special interests’ mantra. Go Obama!

If I recall, he has already used a press conference and a special health care town hall even to reset the debate. This is not going to do it. The President can’t do it. It is up to individuals to educate themselves to counter the millions of dollars being spent by the health care industry to support their $2 trillion+ cash cow status quo with lies.

In reviewing the numbers, when most Americans realize it will be advantegous for their employers to pay the 8% tax, drop the group coverage and call it a day that will leave the employee on their own to shop for insurance or buy the public option wil lmake them very unhappy when they see what it will cost them to buy this so called low cost option. Either it covers nothing or is so expensive, there will be no REFORM. The GOP will be in the drivers seat come 2010 and 2012 with the democrats hanging themselves out to dry.
I rather see insurance reform and the government getting costs controls in place for Medicare and Medicaid to reduce Federal spending. This will help drive down health care costs trajectories. The public option will increase long term costs.

Pg 30 – A government committee will decide what treatments and benefits you get; unlike an insurer, there will be no appeals process.
Pg 42 – the “Health Choices Commissioner” will decide health benefits for you; you will have NO choice.
Pg 50 – All non US citizens – legal or illegal – will be provided with free health care services.
Pg 124 – No company can sue the government for price fixing; no “judicial review” will be permitted against the government monopoly – private insurers will be crushed.
Pg 239 – Physician services will be reduced – Medicaid seniors and the poor will be most affected.
Pg 272 – Cancer patients will have care rationed.
Pg 280 – Hospitals will be penalized for what the government deems preventable readmissions.
Pg 298 – Doctors who treat a patient during an initial admission that results in a readmission will be penalized by the government.
Pg 318 – Prohibition on hospital expansion without government approval.
Pg 354 – Government provides approved list of end of life resources, guiding you to death.
Pg 430 – Goverment will decide what level of treatment you may have at end of life.

Health care reform should focus on how to make us healthier, not on who pays the bills. Our oppressive, stressful lifestyle is polluting our air, land, water and food making us a sick and enslaved people. We wouldn’t have to spend billions on health care if we encouraged a garden paradise lifestyle where we chose trees, plants and pets around us to give us fresh food for healthy bodies. It would pull us into the sunshine, give us light expercise, and pull the family together with a joint project giving us a less stressful life with greater health. Our young and old would be cared for at home instead of day care centers and nursing homes. People of all ages and most disabilities would still be helpful and useful and enjoy family life. There is no need for people to be taxed to take care of family that God tells us to care for. This is REAL Health Care Reform.

If 51% of americans get better result, then it is a good program. Until one has the formular to calculate, everyone will assume a worse deal at work.

We cannot continue to live with the current health care system when it costs about 12% more every year and rations health care to the rich and those that can afford a good health insurance plan. Many Americans can only afford the one their job provides them (which is sometimes lousy)because they cannot pay 100% of a good plan from another provider. It seems strange to me that the wealthest nation on earth has been rationing the health care for decades so the rich don’t have to wait in line.

One thing that really gets me upset is hearing Senators and Congressmen complaining how inefficient government is. WELL WHOSE RESPONSIBILITY IS IT TO MAKE SURE GOVERNMENT WORKS EFFICIENTLY? HELLO, it is that of the elected officials (Senators and congressmen), why do they think we elected them into office? So that we the some voters will fix government from our homes and work places? And they get better health care than the rest of us and get paid $150,000.00 a year?
If they can not do the job they were hired to do, then they should just resign and let some one who is willing the make sure government work do the job.

JUST LOOK AT WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH GOVERNMENT RUN SINGLE PAYER HEALTH CARE ON THE INDIAN RESERVATIONS WHICH IS A FAILURE. The articles show in very human terms how Government run health care on the Indian Reservations is an absolute failure. gov. sponsored health care is good or bad.
That said I do firmly believe that at this point we cannot afford it as a nation without a hefty tax hike at some point. Even if you support it your common sense should tell you you will somehow be taxed for it.
