Stephen Baldwin: Pelosi ‘Foolish’ to Suggest Political Violence is Concern
ABC News’ Rick Klein reports: With the Values Voter conference taking place in Washington, ABCNews.com's "Top Line" caught up with Stephen Baldwin, the actor and conservative radio talk show host, about the anger being voiced at President Obama across the country.
Baldwin sharply disputed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's contention that angry words aimed at the president could lead to political violence. Pelosi became emotional yesterday in recalling political violence that erupted in her hometown of San Francisco in the 1970s.
"I don't think it's a legitimate concern," Baldwin said. "I think that again this administration feels like they have to think for its people. I think that it's foolish to even suggest that. I don't think that by any means the general public and the voters out there are stupid. They're smart people, and I think we ought to allow them to have the platform and opportunity to show that." Asked whether he thinks race is playing a role in the critiques being aimed at Obama — as former President Jimmy Carter suggested this week — Baldwin said: "No, not at all. I think Jimmy Carter is a dum-dum." Added Baldwin's radio co-host, Kevin McCullough: "It is laced with this idea that those that oppose the president really dislike him for irrational reasons. And that's not the case. The national tea party here last weekend in this city brought a little over a million people. The mall was clean when they left. No arrests were made. They spoke their mind. They spoke strongly. They peacefully protested, and to continually have this inference that if you oppose the president you must be a crook, you must be dangerous, you must be a racist, you must be a homophobe, it just — it doesn't fly."
Baldwin and McCullough are in Washington today as part of the annual Values Voter conference. They're speaking to the conference this afternoon, and are headlining a party for young conservatives at 9:30 pm ET. More information on that event is available at McCullough’s blog, HERE. Baldwin also told us that he's in talks with the producers of "The Biggest Loser" to host a new reality series: "It's in development, and it's looking kinda cool. And we'll see." Click HERE to see the interview with Stephen Baldwin and Kevin McCullough. We also spoke with Ceci Connolly, who covers health care for The Washington Post, about the president's weekend media blitz. Her guess is that Democrats' current timeframe for passing health care reform by Thanksgiving is a bit optimistic.Watch the discussion with Ceci Connolly HERE.

Sen. DeMint: GOP Race Could Go Until Convention
Obama Avoids Questions on Contraception Rule
As I have said before, I have a deep concern about Pelosi’s mental state. One one hand she is attacking everyone from the CIA, conservatives, protesters, even members of her own party. Now she fears for politcal violence? The fact that she is two heartbeats away from the whitehouse is scary.

Stephen who? Mr. Baldwin doesn’t deserve a headline, much less a news story. While I am no fan of Ms. Pelosi, she has a point here; the conservative right has more than it’s share of hostile nuts and they all own lots of guns. These are the same people who kill doctors that perform abortions and others just because they disagree with them. The extremist radical right IS dangerous and it is whipped into a frenzy daily by Fox and Limbaugh. Just a matter of time before something really tragic happens.

I’m beginning to understand ‘Nanny’ Pelosi. She’s might be one of those aging war protestor hippies from the 60′s! It’s all starting to fall into place. I wonder if she spent any time at the Spahn Ranch?

The only danger, is if people like Jimmy Carter, cause a hotbed of racial discontent, with foolish and false accusations, that might become violent, over nothing.
I have seen that kind of thing happen, and that is a real danger of playing the “race card” as much as the Dems have done.
I agree that when the race card has been played (all too often), that there was zero justification for it.
The Dems just can’t stand to see Obama get criticized for anything. Well, sorry, but that goes with the territory, of being President.

A country which poured out of a violent revolution, survived a civil war known for its carnage, fought in the first world war to make the world safe for a democracy it had yet to extend to many of its own citizens, triumphed in a global conflict again to insure that people could worship something other than the head of state, lost tens of thousands of good men in bone splitting violence in Korea, Viet, Iraq and Afghanistan, would be a country that would fight for its own survival. Even today.

Baldwin said: “No, not at all. I think Jimmy Carter is a dum-dum.”
Yeah, that about sums it up. A washed up actor, and not a very talented one, with no understanding of history, calls our former president a dum dum. Carter was Phi Beta Kappa, was a lieutenant on a submarine, and ran a profitable business before becoming Governor of Georgia then President.
I think I want to see Stephen Baldwin’s birth certificate- I don’t think he was actually born in the USA.

Nancy Pelosi is the “dum-dum”, Jimmy Carter was a loser when he was President and is trying hopelessly to improve his image.

Jimmy Carter was the worst governor of
Georgia and the worst president this nation has ever had .

Pelosi needs to be reminded that its the government that needs to fear the citizens not the citizens fear the government.Especially before she tells the citizens,”let them eat cake”.

Jon, I hate to inform you that being in a fraternity and on a submarine does not qualify anyone to be president. It’s obvious you weren’t even born when jim bo was president and I can tell you are not from the south either because if you were you wouldn’t be saying any kind words about old jim-bo. His mother even said that after he was born that she wished there had been legalized abortions back then. It wasn’t Jim-bo that did anything to have a profitable business, it was on the back of his Mother and other family members that got him that “profitable” business. All he did was walk right in to it. And Oh yes, it was also on the back of blacks.
I think if Mr. Baldwin was still in his old “mind set” he would have said that Jim-bo was a closet——–.
The majority of the people out here is still waiting for Mr. Obama’s birth certificate.

LongT, I think you have it right on about Botox Polosi. there is no doubt that she is a left over hippie. I think some of those hard drugs she did back then are coming back to haunt her like that Timothy Leary “medicine” LSD. I swear she’s tripping.

ummm.. southernproud, Phi Beta Kappa isn’t a fraternity. It’s an academic honor society. The poster’s very true point was that Jimmy Carter is smarter than Stephen Baldwin. And whatever point you had was completely diminished by the birth certificate crap.
Here’s hoping all of the radical rightists decide the GOP won’t work for them and splinter off taking Limbaugh, Hannity, and Beck with them… I want my party back.
Beyond that… “a little over a million people” weren’t on the mall last weekend. There were more people at OSU stadium. Even Fox News said it was 70,000 give or take. That’s impressive but no where NEAR a million!

I heard the following as I was watching all the clips of the various people.
I actually heard saw and Beck say “2,000,000 by the University of I don’t know”, and “1,500,000” in his opinion. I heard some Fox commentators saying 500,000. And I heard that the sponsors reduced their estimate to 100,000.

Values Voter Conference, what an interesting title for a group. What are their “values”? What values must you share to be part of this group? Would I be able to attend? I’m a gay, practicing Christian, abhor abortion, pro-choice, liberal-conservative politically, etc. Perhaps this group would say I have no values and couldn’t join them. Just curious.

Who the heck cares what this looney man says or thinks. He’s bankrupt both financially, morally, and spirtually. He’s just another moron that has latch onto the ignorant Republicans coattail hoping to make a buck.

of the baldwin family, hasn’t had a decent

Eight years of runaway spending, tax cut for the rich and been lied to about reason for war. Now eight months in Obama presidency and the conservative right wants their country back. Should they had wanted back eight years ago. No. I guess it ok to tolerate those things when the President looks like them.

This from the man who’d already taught us so much in “Bio-Dome”. Thank you Stephen Baldwin, especially for that very compelling bit where you call Former President Jimmy Carter a dum dum. It sucks that the mainstream media will undoubtedly ignore this bit of brilliance so they can focus on their typical mindless tripe… you know, stuff about how tens of thousands of people in the United States of America die every year as a direct result of not having medical benefits.

Yesterday we saw a ‘FAUX News’ and Limbaugh attempt to connect the ‘incitement to violence’ with Nancy Pelosi’s plea to stop this sort of stuff. I heard both myself.
They don’t just take the facts and twist them…they simply, straight-faced lie! They do this knowing that educated people can simply check the original statements and immediately know that they are lying. Why?
Because, they know that the uneducated far-right-fringe (20% or so) will not check it out and they will be incited to violence!

Really? Loud mouthed screamers pushing and shoving their way into town hall meetings carrying guns?
Loud mouthed screamers showing up at Presidential events carrying assault weapons and sidearms.
Virulent hate speech directed at the President daily from bloggers and talk radio ranters.
An unprecedented number of death threats are being directed at Obama every day.
There’s a VERY strong undercurrent of violence running through all of this, and there’s EVERY reason to fear political violence from the right.
The world has changed, and with it they are losing what they think is their god-given right to supremacy. And they are arming themselves to the teeth…gun and ammo sales are at an all-time high. DO you think they’re buying all these guns just to hang them over the mantle and look at them admiringly?
No, these people are arming themselves for war, for armed insurrection and they’re not the least bit hesitant to say so.
Baldwin is talking out his ###.

SouthernProud, the only people “still waiting for Obama’s birth certificate” are the people too dumb and too paranoid delusional to accept the fact that he’s already provided the same type of birth certificate that millions of Americans have (the short form), and that the State of Hawaii has verified that ALL THE INFORMATION on the BC he supplied matches the vault version, including his PLACE OF BIRTH IN HAWAII. Experts have examined the BC he provided and proclaimed it genuine.
You’re not entitled to any more than what has already been provided and certified and attested to. If you can’t accept Truth, then there’s no help for you. Obama shouldn’t give one more ounce of energy paying any attention to you birther nutjobs.

But didn’t Obama spend several hundred thousand to keep from showing full unquestionable proof proof? My wife had to show more proof to Social Security that Obama produced for the presidency!

Pelosi commited political sucide last week when she said she didnt know what the acorn thing was about. She needs to pack up her stuff and get ready to be unemployed like the rest of us. She is toast as far as the voters of california are concerned. What happened to her face?

Baldwin has a show? Good Grief! On violence: Wasn’t this the guy who was on public tv reaming out his daughter, being profane and entirely over the edge, out-of-control? If so, he seems to be quite ignorant in what constitutes violence and how riled up the nut cases are these days. He should take a look at the signs the loonies are publicly showing with all kinds of violence, not only suggested toward the president, but also anticipaing it, and soon! A demented pastor someplace is praying to god that Obama is killed. Wake up, Baldwin: This is racist, violent, gun toting America your funning!

Jimmy Carter playing the race card was out of line. He just did it to get media attention and stir things up. It was not helpful as well as not true. We don’t need any more intensity or polarization in America. People of all colors generalize about other races and religions, so what. Everyone wants to feel superior on some level. I am sure that black people feel they are much better as athletics, so what if that makes them feel superior. It is OK to be proud of your race, your state, your school, even your country. Americans lighten up.
Of course, Obama is way over his head. I don’t care if he is purple with green stripes. A community organizer is just too shallow of a background to run the country that the whole world looks to for leadership and answers. But, he is our President. He does seem to be more reasonable that Pelosi, who is mentally unstable. If we slow down with this health care thing and tell the republicans to quit just complaining and write up their proposal and we will discuss it. Health care in America can be better. If not this way, then which way? I will listen, what about you?
Our forefathers and foremothers have built us the greatest country on earth, let’s work together so our kids can say the same. We are not our enemy on any level, we need each other. Americans diversity is our strength. We have people that are great at all things. Let’s help out our brothers and sisters of all colors and religions, let’s buy more American goods and services and put more Americans to work. Job creation is what should worry us the most about the future of America. Search sites like this.

liberal at the town hall meeting who
bit off the finger of an opponent

Maybe she was talking about those
union goons who have tried to intimidate
people at the town halls!

Anybody who looks and sounds like Barney Rubble doesn’t deserve a moment of my time. Of course the American people deserve to speak their minds but I don’t need Fred Flintstone’s side kick to state the obvious. Pay your bills and get lost bozo.
