Will Joe Biden Run for President in 2016?
ABC News' David Chalian Reports: Vice President Biden has been playing coy about his future political intentions. And today's announcement from the Iowa Democratic Party will do nothing to tamp down speculation that Biden has yet to fully rule out a third presidential run in 2016.
Vice President Biden has agreed to serve as keynote speaker at the 2009 Jefferson Jackson Day fundraising dinner in the Hawkeye State. The largest annual Democratic fundraising dinner in Iowa is a highly coveted slot for politicians with their eyes on the Oval Office.
Mr. Biden's will be 74 years old on inauguration day in 2017 which is the reason most observers do not believe he'll take a third plunge into the presidential waters. But in a clear attempt to avoid lame duck status too early in his current tenure, the vice president made clear in June that he would not rule out thinking about being president.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have the Vice President back in Iowa,” Iowa Democratic Party Chairman Michael Kiernan said Thursday. “There is a great deal of admiration for Joe Biden among Iowa Democrats.”
Then-Senator Hillary Clinton made quite a splash as the Master of Ceremonies of the Iowa J-J Dinner in 2003 when her party's presidential hopefuls were making their closing arguments to Iowa caucus-goers.
In 2007, then-Sen. Barack Obama delivered a rousing night-stealing speech at the fundraising dinner, a performance credited with kicking off his successful final stretch of the Iowa caucus campaign.
Vice President Biden is a familiar presence in Iowa after his 1988 and 2008 unsuccessful attempts at wooing Iowa Democrats to help propel him to his party's presidential nomination.
The dinner will take place on November 21 in Des Moines.

It is 7 years away. I really do like you George, but I think there are more pressing things we could be writing about. 7 years ago Bush was a new president and no one had heard of Barack Obama…things change quickly.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah(Cough!)… ahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!
Thanks, I needed a good laugh after my retirement was dried up, my unemployment was cut off and I’m busy rolling quarters to buy the mandatory health coverage so I won’t go to JAIL… and ironically then GET the best coverage on the taxpayers dime… HEY, maybe THAT is Obama’s “Universal” Health Care Plan after all!!! Makes perfect sense, and would explain alot!

“Will Joe Biden, AKA Pit Bull, run in 2016″ is not the question Will his team be around after 2012 the majority thinks Not! Not sure about Hillery either I think we need some new blood up in that office someone that is currently not serving in either political party. If that happens along with Term limits we will all be better off going into the future!

For the misinformed on the message board, Polling Report shows Obama beating the top three Republicans right now in 2012.
Also for the misinformed, stop getting your health care bill “facts” from Fox and the AM hate stations. You embarrass yourself posting stuff here.
As for Biden, I don’t see him getting the nomination. Hilliary will still be on everyone’s mind in 2016.

Biden running for President? We tried that–he almost had me in the boat the first time. At this point, I won’t vote for anyone who is now in office in 2010 or 2012. If there was ever a situation that screamed the need for term limited Senators and Congresspersons–our current Government is that situation.

For a very brief run, right after Obama is impeached.

LOL!!!! Please Joe run.
Maybe we can have a repeat of the debate between Gov. Palin and this Bozo only this time for POTUS.

My guess is that the Iowa Democrats expect the president to be renominated by his party, so they did not look for new candidates this year. They invited Mr Biden rather than Mr Obama, because the president himself too busy. I’ll think about 2016 in 2016.

Obama wouldnt go to Iowa. It’s in the USA. He’d prefer to continue his world tour.

I think Hilary Clinton may have a go for the 2016 presidential election. She has a far better chance than Biden.

Bigger question is will there still be an America around to vote in when 2016 gets here? Not looking so good.

Hillary’s political career is over, Biden was a joke when he ran in 2008 and is even more of a joke as VP… Obama will lose control of the house in 2010 and lose his presidency in 2012.
Posted by: mike | September 29, 2009, 10:11 pm 10:11 pm
I still haven’t figured out how Biden got VP. But it won’t matter, Because in 2012 Sarah Palin will win , then she’ll get re elected in 2016. Unless John Kasich (Ohio) wins the 2010 Govenor election and then gets Ohio straightened out. In which case he would easily win the Pres election in 2012, and again win in 2016. Liberals are Way Way Too Much and will be Out!

He won’t run, he will be 73 years old in 2016, but I will vote for him if he does.

As someone wrote seven years ago, noone heard of OBAMA, he dropped out of the sky and we will pay for it.
Biden 2016???? The only way OBAMA will win a second term is IF there is foul play in our election process. It was here in NOVEMBER and ignored.

Biden’s problem with running for President in 2016 has little to do with his age. His “hoof and mouth disease” has been a longterm affliction which he simply cannot avoid. His “gaffes” are sometimes comical, but most often pitifully inept at expressing the administration’s policies accurately. His gaffes should be a book he could be working on even now. If he doesn’t at least seem to be hard at work, writing his memoirs/gaffes would be a good use of his time. If Biden doesn’t let up on the gaffes and apply himself to something that at least appears to be important, he could wind up as the Ambassador to the North Pole, or perhaps even the South pole. These assignments would be real “cool” assignmnets for him!

REASON: Your name belies your name! I’m pretty certain that I can tell what your political leanings are! We may be the U.S.S.A. by 2016 and Obama may be his excellency the the worshipful despot if someone in Washington doesn’t wake up to the fact that the deficit and debt are the CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER this nation faces.

The Democrats are looking pretty weak. If they lose the majority in 2010, Obama may move to the center to try and survive. After he throws Nancy under the bus, and Harry Reed loses his reelection bid.

I have studied Sen Joe Biden’s work since the early ’80′s. If one does the same and looks at his involvement in serving our nation and the clear, study and analysis he has done in matters of arms control, peace efforts, preserving our country, etc…… we would be blessed to have him serve as our president, he was my first choice in this last election, thank God, President Obama selected him as our Vice President.

The only thing Joe should run for is comedian on America’s Got Talent, just needs to be himself and he’ll make the finals for sure!

If Joe Biden ran for president in 2016, I’d be first in line to vote for him. He’s an impressive vice president, brilliant in foreign policy, loves this country, works harder than anyone in Washington, takes on everything thrown his way and with obsession for possitive results, and is just a wonderfully honest person. Greatly respected as a Senator by his peers, considered the most unimpeachable Senator, loving generous man, well liked and respected and trusted by foreign leaders, and a nice man. I sure hope he does run…I’ll campaign for him and be first in line to vote for Joe.

When Biden joined the Obama ticket in 2008 it was on condition that he did not run for president in 2016.
It’s widely believed that Hillary has her eye on the presidency for 2016.

Hey, don’t joke around about stuff like this.
Maybe he can run as McCain’s vp. Between the two of them they are just about dangerous.
Still, anything would be better than the run we have had lately.

Let’s see if we can last until the 2010 elections. Perhaps Mr. Biden should retire after he learns of the results.
Afterall, I am sure he will have a good retirement and will not really care about politics when 2016 rolls around!
