Obama-McChrystal Surprise Meeting on Air Force One

If you can't get to the General, bring the General to you.

The President's surprise meeting with his Commander in Afghanistan aboard AF1 was one a series of moves designed to take the sting out of any criticism he gets for flying to Copenhagen to push Chicago's Olympic bid.

He also called 7 members of the Senate Finance committee yesterday to show his engagement and they rewarded him by wrapping up amendments about the time the President landed in Denmark. And brought Iraq Commander General Ray Odierno into the Oval Office for a 30 minute review of the situation there.

Even the Iranians helped with their surprise announcement to ship nuke fuel to Russia for enrichment.

So will those IOC delegates play along too?

Here's my conversation with Diane on GMA.

A President that can MULTI-TASK! The haters on the right are not use to this Bush could not do 2 things at once except start wars and ignore them (AFGHANISTAN)What a great change to have an Intelligent Multi-Tasking President!

The Republican hypocrisy knows no bounds … Bush spend MONTHS at his fake Crawford ranch “clearing brush.” I believe that’s where he was when he received the memo “Al Quaida to strike in US” or something similar. The one he blew off by telling the person who delivered it “ok, you’ve covered your ass.” And where was he when Katrina hit New Orleans?

Yes, Obama can multi task American right down the drain! The only reason he met with the general is because it was found they had not spoken in 70+ days. See a pattern here? WE find out, THEN he tries to make it better…what a loser

George,, maybe I am missing something here but you never tell us where Omaba was when he met with Mchrystal. We know it was abord AFI but in what country????

Russell, 70+ days was what the general said! Don’t you even watch tv? Oh, you were probably not watching fox, no other station would report that, make Bamy look bad……and….Obama has completed absolutely nothing! He seems to be leaving everything up to his congress, boy that works, doesn’t it? Don’t criticize us with things you know nothing of………

Wow Jon, I’m definitely going to pray for you.

Why is it that a person can’t post, “Gee – Obama’s FINALLY met with his top general in Afghanistan – for only the SECOND time ever! Given the rather SERIOUS nature of our involvement over there, I don’t feel that’s quite enough!” – nope, if they say something like that, they’re “attacking” the most vibrant, effective, brilliant, forward-thinking Multitasker-in-Chief the country’s ever seen! C’mon, folks – where is it written that if it’s Obama, we all have to FAWN over whatever he says or does! Don’t we have enough of that with the Clinton’s?

watch a potus over his head. he needs to pull out completly. He puts out soldiers at huge risk, he needs to admit that this is not a priority and he is not able to do the job of conducting a war.. and pull out. NOW.

Regardless of my views, the right left hate postings are disappointing and exactly the reason we are so disjointed. Whats the matter with you people. Do you really think YOU’RE views are the only correct ones? Oh, and one person is going to ‘PRAY’ for another…great…that should change everything. And the 10 beliefs Gripper has…they should solve most problems…DUH…snap out of it people.

Afghanistan, and western Pakistan aka Waziristan, is where our troops should have been to begin with. NATO nations know they need it shut down also — found a cool site; Balkingpoints ; incredible satellite view of earth

Most of you have never been in the military and do not understand what the hell is going. Just remember Iraq with WMDs and where are they today? Well, over 4000 dead, 30,000 injuries (no arms or legs and you idots just love war. Go ahead and join the military and go off to war and comeback without legs or arms, and your attitude will change.

If the government and the military would take a couple of steps back and look at the big picture, then they would know that the problem is not with Afghanistan, Iran, or even Iraq. There is no winning in the Middle East for the United States or anyone else. What needs to be done to try and make things more secure is taking control of Pakistan. Cleaning it up and flushing out Osama where he has been all along.

Obama is an idiot! He has to first check with his poll numbers! This is what you get when you get a talking suit running the country.

Dear George: I like your work, & think:
1) Obama is an excellent President: unlike Bush, caring, decent, & brilliant.
2) O’s worst danger is Afghanistan. I suggest an early exit. Alexander the Great was 100 times the strategist McChrystal is. Remember, the longest victor over the Afghans was by the troops under Alexander.
3) These are desperate times, but I’m sure Obama will prevail.
4) I’m glad I voted for him.
5) I’m an 80-year-old Democrat.
