Yes, but you missed out on the fact the world economy collapsed during the last year of the Bush administration and that by the time Obama got the reins the American economy was hemorrhaging 700,000 jobs a month.
You just want to blame the world collapse on Obama because of your partisan politics.

Thank you, F.B.I. for a job well done.
Shoe, just because most countries no longer see us as ‘smart cowboys’, that doesn’t change the opinions of terrorists. We were having terrorists threats in Clinton’s years and he wasn’t any cowboy. Extremists will always be around, we have our own home-grown versions, too.
But now, having the goodwill of many countries will enable important international matters to be settled much more easily, such as talks about North Korea and Iran’s nuclear activities in the news lately. It will enable us to work cooperatively to solve global problems like climate change. I hope this helps you see the big picture.

1. I’m a bit fuzzy on that. Would you please explain that and please use small words so I am sure to understand.
2. Do you further mean ‘your view’ and others that think as you do? That is the ‘world’s view’?

You do know that respect comes from within. I suppose you don’t care that many in the international press are already considering this president a joke? Don’t care? Oh I guess when his poll numbers start to drop because of HIS actions that will be a tragedy.
Then again he will probably work a miracle and sustain his high approval numbers internationally. Sure worked in the USA.

I took what Shoe said about the world’s view of our country and transposed it on to her and her family– if she doesn’t care about what the world thinks of us as a nation, then to be consistent, it would follow that she wouldn’t care what others thought of her and her family. As long as she could be independent. Unless, of course, she’s inconsistent.
The point being most of us would rather be held in high regard. The problem is that some people diminish the value of America’s restored reputation.
And she’s the one who said all Europe is interested in is rock stars and parties, implying indirectly that to her the war in Afghanistan is a party for them, not part of the difficult “cleanup.”
What’s ironic is that you’re projecting all kinds of views onto me. Don’t make assumptions. If you want to argue with me, argue with what I post. Do I think the world was outraged by what they viewed as America committing torture? Yes. Do I think waterboarding is torture? Yes. Do I think the Bush-Cheney admin overstepped and have little credibiity on how to conduct war while maintaining our ideals? Yes. Do I think they took the eye off the ball in Afghanistan and “muddled through”? Yes. Do I think the Iraq War was pre-emptive and unnecessary? Yes. Do I think despite that we have to pull out responsibly? Yes.
It would be easier to argue with you if you made sense and didn’t flutter around trying to throw stuff at me to see if it sticks.

OK sure.
You still hasn’t answered me on the OTHER assaults against the privacy of US citizens. There were more charges leveled against Bush that Obama IS continuing. Just don’t talk about those? Just ignore those huh? (many of the left DO consider BOTH wars illegal and some on the right too)

There are so many historical inaccuracies and half truths in this . …
Let’s start with Vietnam . .. America backed down.
Let’s start with bringing freedom to others. The United States helped overthrow freely elected democratic governments in Guatemala, Iran, Chile, El Salvador . . . and helped with installing repressive dictatorships in those same countries.
We can probably say those were ‘mistakes’ made during the cold war, but the facts stated remain the same.
