Rep. ‘Die Quickly’ Apologizes for ‘K Street Whore’ Remark
This time he backed down. My colleague, ABC News’ Teddy Davis, has more: Rep. Alan Grayson, the Florida Democrat who became a hero to some liberals by standing by his remark that Republicans want sick people to "die quickly," issued an apology on Tuesday evening for calling a senior Federal Reserve adviser a "K Street whore" in a radio interview. Grayson leveled the insult at Linda Robertson on the Alex Jones Show last month while discussing the Fed's resistance to stronger oversight. Robertson, who was hired by the Fed this summer, is a former Enron lobbyist who was also an adviser in the Clinton administration. Grayson supports limiting the Fed's power. An economist early in his career, he said he didn't need to be lectured by "this K Street whore" about why such regulation isn't necessary. "This lobbyist, this K street whore, is trying to teach me about economics," said Grayson. A Grayson spokesman initially stood by the remark on Tuesday. But after Republicans continued to push the issue, Grayson issued a written statement offering Robertson his “sincere apology.” “I did not intend to use a term that is often, and correctly, seen as disrespectful of women,” said Grayson. “This characterization of Ms. Robertson, made during a radio interview last month in the context of the debate over whether the Federal Reserve should be independently audited, was inappropriate, and I apologize.”

Romney Makes His Case to Conservatives at CPAC
Is anyone surprised that a leftwing loon would make loony comments ? Folks, this is standard fare for Liberals / Leftists / Socialists / Communists / Regressives.

Civility it seems is in intensive care with a poor prognosis. Couldnt he make his point in a less offensive manner? Surely, he could. The electorate will have to judge him on his merits, wont they? Will be interesting to see if he survives next election.

Where are the calls for his resignation from NOW and Co.? Instead they focus on phony issues like all-male basketball games at the White House gym.
Imagine if Rep. Grayson was a Republican!

I agree with you Brew. Where is now?

This guy is an embarrassment to any institution, left or right. My view is that he wants his 15 min. of fame, no matter the cost. Don’t run for president buddy, we’ve got you on file…

“Schill” would have been a better word to use. If Ms. Lobbyist would have been a Mr. Lobbyist it would have worked better. I get his point though and respect him for making it as no one else seems to want to.

Unfortunately, in the executive work world, the “w” word is used to describe an overzealous woman or man. In the common work world, the word is used to demean or describe a person unliked or stated to show disapproval for not conforming to likeness of the group. Just like other words stated that are misspoken should be more thoughtfully studied before said to a broad audience. Habits of jargon stated in private can slip into general conversations or interviews, therefore, consider language updates to show more respect towards others of difference and give better illustrations that draw attention to the difference of the person stated not to the person who said the poorly chosen word(s).

And this is the darling of the far left for ‘calling out’ the lies of the right.
This man is unstable.
Is he a new 21st century ‘enlightened’ progressive.
You have to be civil FIRST before you can delude yourself into thinking you are better than your fellow man. You know, those that say middle America is full of idiots. They really DO think they are superior you know.
Our bettors and they know whats best for America.
Listen to what they say when they talk. Not just the words but the tone and body language.
Impossible to hide arrogance.

Hmmmm … so what did he “intend” to call her? Perhaps it was a vast right-wing conspiracy that made him say that … maybe his teleprompter-writer is secretly a Republican?

What is really bothersom is Obama called him an outstanding congressman. I wonder what he would do if he called Michelle or his daughters the samre thing? Maybe the story a few days ago about Obama and his boys club has some merit. Looks like he may really be a sexist.

To “David from WI” – so was Rep. Wilson being civil when he shouted “YOU LIE” at POTUS during a joint session of congress? Think about it, Elle is correct, he let his true thoughts slip, oops, so much for speaking your mind. The truth hurts I guess.

Obama just flew down to endorse this nut & call him a great congressman.
Left or right, there is no place for idiots like this in government. They are the reason we are where we are now.

He shouldnt apologize. Thats his real character showing. This is the typical liberal thinking. If your african american and walk down the street in Marin County (san franscisco), Just see how “LIBERAL” these jokers are.

Too bad, because he’s right. That’s what lobbyists are. They are also pimps for Corporate America, buying and selling politicians right and left. Congress is becoming just one big brothel.

I am embarrassed to admit I am from Orlando, FL. Grayson is an embarrassment to us down here. Apology is NOT accepted by any of us here. If this was a one shot deal – it would be one thing. But this guy is unstable, and hurting our area.
BTW – Rep Grayson – are us TAX PAYERS footing the bill for your FIRST CLASS tickets between Orlando and Washington? And who was the kid with you on the plane about a month or so ago? Did we pay for him too??? Tax Payers want to know…

What were the people of Florida thinking when they voted this loon in office. Was the voting precinct in or next to a bar???? Or is he the product of in house breeding? That’s what happens when one of your parents marries one of their close relatives…Suggestion that perhaps when picking there next congressmen they could have a drawing instead. Total embarrassment to the state of Florida…

NObama didn’t know any better for complementing him…after all, its what the teleprompter told him to say!!!

Why is that in the same sentence you report the senetor as #senetor X,the vice president as visepresident biden but president obama as MR obamba. He is the president of our uniteds states. this kind of undercutting is disrespectful weather you like him or not. It further divides our country because the only political information some folks get somtimes is through your network. Remeber your words and how you use them,as they are powerful. You have a rsponsibility to be as unbiased as possible.

Grayson is an embarassment to Florida. He’s a NYC carpetbagger who moved to Orlando to escape high taxes and brought his northeastern ivory towered values with him. The problem is, Floridians don’t like loud mouthed politicians in either party. Grayson is a joke; he was even a victim of a ponzi scheme losing MILLIONS while claiming to be a “real economist”.

It seems name calling has become more the norm since the last election.
Whether from the right or left it seems you get called something for even posting a comment.
Can’t even hardley post anymore without being called a racist or whatever by someone and that’s what turned me off about this last election.

George and the other liberal pundits are daily becoming less relevant. The constant cheerleading and bias in favor of the Obama White House is no longer being believed. The backlash to the new leftist federal government will be historical in its size. The American ‘workers” know that the left seeks to steal their wealth and resources and redistribute to the non-producers to solidify they’re dependence on the federal government. America is still predominantly conservative ( although the left has struggled to destroy conservatism through their media mouthpieces). conservatives need to stick together and fight it out until we can replace the current socialist in the White house and his allies in Congress!

This guy is an embarrassment to the congress, the you lie outburst is tame compared to this. Yet the democrats
take no action on one of their own. HYPOCRITES.

Yeah right!!, While the right wing nuts WHINE about Graysons words, its stupidly hypocritical for them to cry foul. Don’t forget the lies, inuendos and insults hurled at Dems and liberals by these self rightous righties.

MAYBE old grayson was a member of REV JEREMIAHS church. sounds like something the rev would have said.

I seems that Mac is more about pointing a finger at “right wing nuts,” rather addressing the issue on insulting women!
Good job “Mac” you have your hand on the pulse of America. Just like the so called apology by Grayson – if that is a real apology then use the remaining stimulus money to purchase swamp land in Florida!
Besides “NOW” the joke of speaking for women – I think Mr. S of ABC is a little light on making a comment.
RIGHT WING FOX – MEET – LEFT WING ABC!

I am actually afraid about the idiots we have running our goverment. The only thing stupider than what Grayson said is what Obama said. Today, your not an idiot so long as you deny your idiocy.

“Civility it seems is in intensive care with a poor prognosis.”
Well what do you expect. Incivility has its own channel: Fox. The whole public discourse has been coarsened by the hyperbolic vitriol spewed by Limbaugh, Beck and Coulter. And when a few –very few — liberals show a bit of fight — like this chap — the conservatives conveniently forget Vice President Cheney’s “*%$ You!” and cry crocodile tears of victimization and vindication.
You want a more civil tone? Then start using one. No one is more civil than our President and no is more incivilly savaged.
