Is it time for a shift in strategy towards the Taliban? Shall we award them “gold stars and smiley faces” like we are attempting with the war criminals running Sudan?
—Obama’s special envoy to Sudan, Scott Gration, said this week that in dealing with rogue states like Sudan, “We’ve got to think about giving out cookies…Kids, countries, they react to gold stars, smiley faces, handshakes, agreements, talk, engagement.”—

Not true. He hasn’t missed any votes on abortion. But for him, that’s not a tough issue. No sweat when it’s beyond your pay grade.

Where have you been? Watching ONLY Fox News?

Fox News is entertaining, but basically an arm of the Republican Party and dedicated to bashing Dems and electing Republicans.
We’ve stopped watching Fox News – our blood pressure has decreased and we’re no longer looking for terrorists and nukes behind every bush.
AND we don’t miss the police chases that Fox News consistently uses to fill time.

I blame Glenn Beck and Fox News.

You make the (false) assumption that those of us who disagree with Obama’s actions/inactions were in lock-step with everything Bush did.
It’s Barry’s job now. He wanted it, he campaigned for it, he knew what he was getting into. It’s time for him to step up and lead. No need to make excuses for him.

We’ve stopped watching Fox News
Limiting yourself to ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, PBS, MSNBC means you will be fully informed on the Obama administration but you will miss a few stories and a bit of nuance.

Oh, please. Exaggerate much? When I work from home, I have it on all day and don’t see any car chases.
And if they are such a tool for the right wing, why do I see Bob Beckel, Juan Williams, Julian Epstein and the rest of the libs Fox uses to present the other side. And recently John Stossel signed.
Enough with the melodrama already.

Actually, it hasn’t. US casualties in Afghanistan have increased dramatically under Obama.
“Actually, it hasn’t. US casualties in Afghanistan have increased dramatically under Obama.”
Yes we understand.
The right wing only cares about dead American soldiers for political purposes of bashing Obama.
Gee weren’t you the guy who pushed the comparison to inner city murder rates as to why we should not care about the dead in Iraq?
All the dead matter, they mattered the past 8 years and they matter now.

No.
“The right wing only cares about dead American soldiers for political purposes of bashing Obama.”
I’m a right-winger. I actually fought in a war in which I lost friends, comrades and a dear relative. All American casualties matter to me, more than any civilian can comprehend, other than those who have lost a loved one.
I bash Obama because he sent those extra 21,000 troops pursuant to his grand–and grandly announced–strategy. Now he’s been sitting for a month on a request from his field commanders for reinforcements, all the while finding time for a trip to Copenhagen, a joint address to the congress on a matter that won’t even take effect until 2013 if it is enacted at all, a trip to Pittsburgh, and uncountable television appearances including one with David Letterman.
I know what it’s like to fight in a war that your commander-in-chief has decided that he really can’t win, yet doesn’t know how to end. That’s why I’m so concerned about the guys in Afghanistan. At least Bush made the commitment to win in Iraq, and he did so even when everyone else was telling him he couldn’t win.
“LONDON — The top military commander in Afghanistan, Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal, rejected calls for scaling down military objectives there on Thursday and said Washington did not have unlimited time to settle on a new strategy to pursue the eight-year-old war.”
At least now we know why you parrot that talking points.

And what talking points would that be that I have parroted? Please illuminate me with your superior communication skills.
Bob Beckel is the king of liberal talking points. He’s been hanging around since Mondale. How come Obama doesn’t tax HIM for being obese? And the hot air he produces is of global proportions.
