Hillary to Sarah: Let’s Have Coffee
Talk about "coffee talk"…
In Going Rogue, Sarah Palin takes back her campaign criticism of Hillary Clinton, saying that she now realizes that Clinton was a victim of some sexist media bias. She goes on to write this:
“Should Secretary Clinton and I ever sit down over a cup of coffee, I know that we will fundamentally disagree on many issues, but my hat is off to her hard work on the 2008 campaign trail. …[A] lot of her supporters think she proved what Margaret Thatcher proclaimed: “If you want something said, ask a man. If you want something done, ask a woman.”
When I asked Clinton to respond, she laughed and quickly took up Palin's suggestion:
“Well you know, I’ve never met her, and I’d look forward to sit down and talk with her. Obviously we’re going to hear a lot more from her in the upcoming week, with her book coming up and I would look forward to having a chance to get to meet her."
How much would you pay to pour the coffee at that summit?

Earl….I am an Obama supporter, and I’m not scare of Sarah Palin, she’s really a non-factor, we’re just appalled to have been introduced to such non-sense….these “scare” comments are like ……elementry and child-like. The Dems are a class act… the anger is coming from the “sarah palin” lovers, who is so “unintelligent” that they don’t understand the question “what do you read”.

That depends… do I get to pick on who I get to pour the coffee? Lemme see… Hilarious makes me sick to my stomach whenever I see her picture… yeah, I’d pay a LOT to pour the coffee!!!

Its early, so I write barely awake.
I really like Sara. I also like Hillary. Yes, they are like night and day on the issues. If Hillary would of been picked as president over the “one”, she would of not taken crap from any country. She seems to have that demeanor, I mean she put up with Bill. She has more testosterone than the “one” in office you voted for, so to speak.

Two great women in America today, one a socialist and the other a conservative, but both pretty smart and down to earth women. I don’t understand all the hatred for Sarah Palin however. Some people say, “because she’s an idiot”. I think judging by what she’s said and done in Alaska politics, people are just either jealous of an obviously educated woman, or just scared that she may put a dent in Obama mania. For our embarassment that we call “Mr. President”, can someone tell me one thing that he has done beside bankrupt our country? He’s done much more damage to the economy than Bush has ever dreamed of doing and more to come still.

Agree with her or not, Sarah Palin strikes a chord with a lot of people in this country. These people admire her for “telling it like it is”. That’s probably what caused her conflicts with McCain’s campaign. She was unaccustomed to following a script. Would she make a good president? Don’t know. We’ll just have to wait and see how things unfold.

“Two great women in America today, one a socialist and the other a conservative. . .”
I love the way you make that innocuous pairing; code for “one is the antichrist and the other is a conservative.” If you’re going to call Clinton a socialist, then let’s hear what Sarah is: “a know-nothing fundamentalist wacko who believes in African serpent demons”–unfortunately, and contrary to calling Clinton a “socialist,” it’s true (I’ll admit that the “wacko” part is kinda subjective).

Margeret Thatcher’s quote fits this president to a “T”. He’s on tv every single day to say things that are so minute and irrevelent. Other than the “cash for clunkers” program can anyone name one important thing he has done. He does have both the Senate / House on his side. This thing about being in office for only a few months doesn’t wash anymore.

GOOD QUESTION!!
I think a LOT of us are wondering, will there even BE a future after another 3 years of enduring the actions (and inactions) of the MORON that we have in the White House today. So, it’d be hard for ME to write about the future as well, and I don’t lack the ability to write.

In the end, she is still the undereducated, ill-informed, lying creature that she has been all along. It is the responsibility of the people of this country and the media to keep pointing that out and telling the truth, over and over and over again, to counter the lies she and her supporters will tell. She could be ripped apart during any run for public office just with the lies that she told in this book. She also has to contend with the fact that there are enough Republican heavy weights who were involved within the McCain campaign to tell the truth about her misbehaving, scheming self, and they probably haven’t told half of it as yet. If she tries to run, they will open up on her with both barrels, and keep reloading

But then you went further to state, “…The Dems are a class act… the anger is coming from the “sarah palin” lovers, who is so “unintelligent” that they don’t understand the question “what do you read”.”. I disagree with you views, but that’s beside the point. As an intellectually honest person, and after reading the comments from those to which i refer…do you stand by your statement that the “DEMS ARE A CLASS ACT?”…is THIS what you consider a class act? Be honest. And please don’t use the diversion tactic of so many libs (“well, so and so did this or that”). Just a straight answer….do you still consider your universal statement, “DEMS are a class act” to be accurate? And exactly WHERE is the anger coming from? Those posters certainly don’t seem to be conservatives to me.

Those are the ones without a clue. And it is amazing that they can make these claims while FACTS prove that she is neither stupid nor irrelevant. The mainstream media bashed both Hillar y and Palin relentlessly. Oprah turned her back on women because of her own skin color. How are women suppose to get ahead if the media sets out to destroy them. I got so sick of Chrissy Matthews and Keith Olbermann bashing Hillary and proclaiming their gay “man love “for Obama – it was laughable but also quite sickening. They also did their best to destroy Palin. When Hillary becomes Pres in 2012 she can offer a cabinet spot to Palin…It would serve the media right…. Right now only a few media outlets still slobber on about Obamaa…all the rest know they will continue to lose viewers if they dont stop their Bammy worship. We are fed up with this inept and incompetent Administration that was forced on us by the media.

Sarah was right about the Obama/Pelosi/Reid Health Care Reform Bill according to a CMS government report published on Saturday, there are “Death Panels” in the Bill for Seniors.

Report: Obamacare More Expensive And Cuts Care To Seniors
Guessing we now know why Nancy Pelosi was in such a rush to jam her Obamacare bill through the House. She wanted to get it done before the realities of her bill were made public.
Washington Post headlines with “Report: Bill would reduce senior care,” and the subheader “Medicare cuts approved by House may affect access to providers.”
A plan to slash more than $500 billion from future Medicare spending — one of the biggest sources of funding for President Obama’s proposed overhaul of the nation’s health-care system — would sharply reduce benefits for some senior citizens and could jeopardize access to care for millions of others, according to a government evaluation released Saturday.
The report, requested by House Republicans, found that Medicare cuts contained in the health package approved by the House on Nov. 7 are likely to prove so costly to hospitals and nursing homes that they could stop taking Medicare altogether.
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ report, found here, states clearly “The House-approved healthcare overhaul would raise the costs of healthcare by $289 billion over the next 10 years.”
The CMS report is a blow to the White House and House Democrats who have vowed that healthcare reform would curb the growth of healthcare spending. CMS’s analysis is not an apples-to-apples comparison to the cost estimate conducted by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) and the Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) because CMS did not review tax provisions, which help offset the price tag of the Democrats’ measure.
However, the CMS analysis clearly states that the House bill falls short in attaining a key goal of the Democrats’ effort to reform the nation’s healthcare system: “With the exception of the proposed reduction in Medicare… the provisions of H.R. 3962 would not have a significant impact on future healthcare cost growth rates.”
More from The Politico as they go through the report, page by page with updates on their findings:
Last word goes to Representative Dave Camp, the ranking Republican on the House Ways and Means Committee, when he points out the lies the public have been fed about Pelosi’s Obamacare bill.
“This report confirms what virtually every independent expert has been saying: Speaker Pelosi’s health care bill will increase costs, not decrease them. This is a stark warning to every Republican, Democrat and Independent worried about the financial future of this nation. I hope my colleagues in the Senate heed CMS’ findings and refuse to rush ahead until any bill under consideration can be certified to actually reduce health care costs.”

jimbo – You said “When Hillary becomes Pres in 2012 she can offer a cabinet spot to Palin…”
I agree with most of your post regarding the liberal MSM “controlling” the minds of the Obama “faithful,” but I doubt Clinton has a chance in 2012…
1) Obama would have to accept his incompetence and agree to step down, as the DNC will certainly NOT entertain anyone other than an incumbent in 2012… or
2) Clinton would have to run as an INDEPENDENT, and the independent voters really do know better!
By 2016, even among the party faithful, she’ll have certainly imploded under the pressure of her incompetence… for many, that’s already happened.

Laughin__ALL_The_Way , Ditto for Obama in 2012. Think about it. Would Sarah have allowed the mastermind of 9/11 to be tried in a Civil Court in NY so he could spew his hatred of America to the World and risk the possibility of him being acquitted because he was not read his Miranda rights. I think not.

henry, How can you compare Obama to Sarah? There is just no comparison. Obama’s church of twenty years spewed hatred for America. Sarah’s church spewed love of God and America. Obama surrounds himself with Mao lovers, communists and guys like Soros who hates America and is working towards America’s downfall. Sarah surrounds herself with God fearing, America loving, gun rights believers. Obama has run up the deficit to 1.4 trillion dollars and wants to spend a trillion more on a health care program that the CMS says will increase costs for insurance premiums, raise the deficit and cut critical services for Seniors. Sarah says the Health Care Bill has “Death Panels” in it and was proven to be correct when the “Death Panel” provision was taken out of the Bill, than put back in under the cover of darkness when Nancy got the Bill passed last Saturday at midnight when no one was looking. I could go on and on, but you get the point.

Ah Gracious and classy as always is Hillary Clinton. As an Independent who always voted Ralph Nader and Ross Perot once, I made the decision in 2007 to work on Hillary Clinton’s campaign. When Hillary lost, I voted for McCain/Palin, specifically for Palin. Guts, hard work, perseverance, withstanding media attacks, facts/data to back up improvements they’ve made in their states, giving birth….they both have it all but are political opposites. Ah, but they share so much in common. And they are both classy. When they get together, they will talk about their respective horrible treatment by the media and the obama and mccain campaigns. It’s a woman thing you know.

I have always wondered why former Pres. Bush and Clinton work together on their Katrina fundraisers. That was not a problem even though Bush is pro-life, and Clinton is pro-choice. Why can’t women come together in the same way and not be critiziced for it?
Posted by: Bassman | November 15, 2009, 1:43 pm 1:43 pm
The media bias against Clinton and Palin has changed my view of the media forever. The good news is that it has opened up the eyes of a lot of people. I’ll never forget how they treated Secretary Clinton. The bias was incredible. Every major news organization with the exception of Fox (who I guess had no stake)tried to cover up for Obama, and made the biggest deal over EVERY little thing that Clinton did. I really got schooled. I never realized the media could be so blatantly prejudice. I naively thought they just reported the news.
But that’s ok I’ve become a great researcher, because I know I can’t rely on the media for the truth.

This is the guy who thought there are 57 states in our Country. This is the guy who sees dead people (refer to his Memorial Day speech in which he ‘reverently’ reached out to “those who made the supreme sacrifice…I see some of you here in the audience…”.) His ‘shout out’ to the Native American who “is a medal of honor winner” (umm, no he wasn’t. He had the presidential medal of valor, not the Medal of Honor. And no one “wins” the medal of honor…it is awarded for heroism, not as a contest). And a “shout out”…how ghetto can one get? A ‘shout out’…from the man who represents our country. I could go on and on, JackfromGA, but it just amazes me that you guys can overlook this from the man that is the embarrassment in chief, but just cannot let go of one or two mis-statements by a lady who is no longer in public office. It’s really sad to be you, i suppose. Anyway, have a nice day and enjoy your laugh…..

If you are referring to the vetting bills, I think you are forgetting that she said that she has the bills that she was presented with. If she does, then she’s not lying and can prove what she’s saying. In fact I suspect that she has proof of a lot of things she said in the book. In spite of what you probably think, she is too smart to print something that she can’t prove and leave herself open to huge lawsuits. I think she’s had enough of lawsuits to last a lifetime due to the stupid frivolous ones that were filed against her in Alaska. She’s not going to put herself through that again, especially with lawsuits that aren’t frivolous and might have merit and might stick.

You know all those legal fees she owes due to these? A huge chunk are because SHE filed a complaint on HERSELF to move Troopergate out of the channel it was going while she campaigned. In other words, a trick during a campaign. This move has cost her state gosh knows what in legal fees – and it was all HER doing.

Palin cost McCain the election. She brought the lunies from the extreme right wing, true enough. Unfortunately the women does not have to many cohesive thoughts in her head. I think Palin is trying to play the uterus card. She’s a women, so women are supposed to blindly support her. She flatters HIllary Clinton, that’s called sucking up. If Hillary Clinton were president right now, now way Palin would be flattering her. I’m dissapointed that Hillary is such a sucker to flattery. But you know what they say is the surest way to get into any girls pants – compliment the pretty girl on her brain, compliment the ugly girl on her looks. Hillary is all a fluster from a compliment on her brain???? I guess she thinks she’s pretty . Anyway, the uterus doesn’t work. Palin is rabidly anti-women. THe most ridiculous anti choice person in the country, not even for choice in the case of rape or incest, and dont forget she was the one who said Hillary clinton was “whining” (How soon hillary forgets!) which is pretty rich considering Palin just released a 300 page whine/excuse-fest. It’s called manipulation, and maybe it works with men, and maybe Palin is a little too used to manipulating men, but it doesn’t work so well wiht women. Women are too smart for it. Well, most women. Little dissapointing to see how lovey dovey Hillary was after only one small compliment. I guess maybe Hillary is just sucking up to Palin supporters too. maybe they’re both just queens of manipulation. But nothing can discount the lack of education and lack of brain in Palin. She wont get the republican nomination .She will never be president. Period. If it tears the republican party apart, I’m sure Palin will be prepared to do it, but no way, no way on God’s green earth, Palin will be their nominee. She’s dumb. She’s so dumb, she doesn’t even understand how dumb she is. She doesn’t even know what she doesn’t know. Her supporters are the same, but there are only so many people in this country THAT ignorant. There may be many, but not enough to win. NEVER enough to win.

JIMvGIRL–could you point out a few of the qualities or accoplishments Sarah Palin has on her resume? Her real goal in life was to be a announcer on ESPN.
It boggles the senses imagining the speaker of the house announcing, ” all rise for the president of the ASPCA, sarah Palin”. Even hearing her announced for that position is to scary to contemplate. Palin is prettier than Hillary. I’ll grant you that. But upstairs, the place between your ears, Hillary is a 10 and Palin did not quite get her name spelled correctly on the application to score even 1 point.

PT…just for the record: Sarah Palin never uttered the words, “I can see Russia from my house”. Since you probably get all your news and form most of your opinions from comedy central, it’s appropriate that you believe that it really was Palin who said that. (It was Tina Faye in a skit on SNL that made that quote, referring to Palin saying that Russia and Alaska are neighbors). By the way, PT….there really is not a little fellow made of sponge and wearing square pants at the bottom of the ocean. That is made up also.

Besides being a pretty womwn, exactly what has Sarah Palin accomplished? Palin quit as governess of Alaska before her term sxpired. No, she didn’t! In fact McCain wouldn’t have received nearly as many votes as he received if it hadn’t been for Palin! Most people thought of him as a sick old man especially when compared with the younger and healthier Obama. Also Sarah campaigned for him non-stop for nearly two months and most of the time she was in three or four states a day speaking and gathering votes for him. She didn’t hurt him! If anything she helped him!

For one thing she governed a state for about 18 months. Obama never governed anything. For another due in a large part to Sarah Palin, the Alaskan people have some of the largest per cappita incomes in the United States. Each family also receives about $1,200 a year in oil royalty checks from the oil companies in the state. It doesn’t matter if the companies have wells on their land or not. Sarah has also done many things to boost tourism in her state. She also opened up the wildlife refuges in her state to drilling. The whole country will benefit from that oil.

David Brooks made the comment that Sarah Palin was a joke. No, sir, you are a joke and anybody who believes you are conservative is misguided or doesn’t know conservative values. You can’t stand someone from the other America you so disdain. Mr. Brooks you helped lose the election for conservatives by helping to nominate a democrat. Now, please get out of the way and let the system work to show us who will lead us from your America.

You are absolutely right! You can also add to the list that just in the 10 months that he has been in office, Obama has got our country farther in debt than any other president before him! We are so in debt that our decendants two or three hundred years from now will still be paying our debts! >>>>>>AND WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN TWO OR THREE HUNDRED YEARS FROM NOW STOPS YOU FROM SAVING LIVES TODAY? I’ts clear
to me your values are bass akward. Worrying abbout single cell fetusses right to live, no matter what the circumstances or the quality, or lack of quality the child is born into to. While allowing 122 Americans to die each die for lack of health care is palatable. Look at what the Constitutuion says about abortions. Look at Roe V Wade. Point out what where in the Bible it says abortions are a sin. Look it up under sacrifices? Bibles are heavy into sacrifices. Why? Does GOD want you to sacrifice offerings up to him? Unlikely.
The Bible isn’t interprted the way you and a few hundred thousand other crack pots say it is. You all play GOD and that is bass akward to what GOD allegedly wants from his children. You all screw up the Bible. The Bible is a nice Fairy Tale. Stories that have evilved and been interprted differently by different nations. All the gods rose from the dead. They all cane from Virgin deaths. They were all crucufied.
None of the authors EVER had direct contact with those they wrote about. You are all like the crazies who flew air planes into the World Trade Center.
Praise ALLAH!! Cried the crazies as they directed tons of steel into more tons of steel. Don’t kill those fetusses cry the crazies. Stem cell’s from these unwanted fetusses could lead to remarkable break throughs in medicine. Bring walking back to the paralyzed, and more. 16% of our country believe the scriptures are the Gospel. The real thing. They’re not. Merely proving one side is untrue or possibly false, does not make the other side right. You enemies enemy is not necessarily your friend. Stop the balogney. let Americans all have health care. Unwanted fetusses are not as important as living breathing humans who die each day. Got it you liberal fruit cakes. You’re not conservatives because you are anti-abortion. You are liberal thinkers who believe in fairy tales. You’re fruit and nuts and you do not live in California. More than likely you liove in Tennessee, Chattanooga, or Alabma. You’re the real liberals. I read agreat story the other night. It was Repunzle. You must know that story. She is being held in a castle tower and her hair is so long she lets it out and her hero climbs up to the tower and rescues her. Genesis 4.15. In the beginning, God created, long blond haired women held captive in towers. ROTFLAMO! JIMVGIRL! Oh, and Palin, she could not make it as chamber maid in the White House. She’s just not that smart.

Maybe the liberal right and the ultra liberal right want her involved in politics. They are far from the majority. Maybe you consider 16% of Americans a lot of people. You’re a tune laughin. Suggesting readers of Palins books are smarter than those who will not buy them shows how un bright you are. Only once in Americas has a third party been on a national ticket. 1932, they got 4% of the country’s vote. good luck all you liberal and ultra liberal Palimites. Palin/Armey in 2012. LOL!! I just don’t get it. Hillary has decades of service to this nation. She is intelligent and is a part of U.S. History in a trailblazing way. Sarah Palin was a gimmick tossed out by the McCain campaign to attempt to hoodwink voters into thinking any woman would do. Most folk are appalled that John McCain thought so little of Americans to choose someone who, under any version of a slightly different reality, would be a housewife in Wasila. I don’t understand why people keep comparing her to Hillary, or mentioning her in the same breath. I hold John McCain responsible for catapulting her into the stratosphere where she clearly has no business being, and no amount of “Cliff Notes” education she’s now receiving about domestic/foreign policy, economics, diplomacy, public policy and government is going to make me think it stacks up against well educated women who have been working for this country in meaningful ways long before she was off a tv news set.

Mr. Incredible – you misunderstood what I was trying to say.
I’m really not for or against Palin.
I’m just curious why the name of Palin brings out such heated arguments.
You have to admit that Palin is not the most articulate speaker. Most people, I dare say, would be able to answer the question, “What do you read?”
Even if she just said “the local newspaper” and “Time” magazine, that would have been something.
I also was not asking if others “Got it”. It was not a question.
I was saying that “I” got IT – that there was an overkill when it came to remarks about Palin.
I was being honest about Palin. She would not be a good candidate for the republicans – I am a republican, but I will not vote for Palin. I can’t do it.
I have nothing against Palin. She’s out there making her money. Good for her.

ddg You completely misunderstood why Sarah didn’t answer the question about what she reads. She knew very well what she reads. She REFUSED to answer the question because it was insulting! It implied that people in Alaska are uneducated and can’t read and don’t know what’s going on in the rest of the world! The only mistake she made was that she held her temper instead of telling Katie Couric to her face just how insulting her question was. That’s what she should have done!

Here is what Couric asked:
“And when it comes to establishing your world view, I was curious, what newspapers and magazines did you regularly read before you were tapped for this — to stay informed and to understand the world?”
What part of the question is insulting? What part implies that Alaskans are uneducated? What part implies that Alaskans can’t read? What part implies that Alaskans don’t know what’s going on in the rest of the world?

WWW Every part of it is insulting! It’s not what Couric said but what she implied! She implied that Alaskans are a bunch of backwwods hillbillies or hicks who are about 100 years behind the times and never read a magazine or newspaper! It might have been different if Couric had asked Obama and Biden and McCain the same question but she didn’t! She respected them and their intelligence and assumed that they read and keep up with the rest of the world and assumed that people from their states are educated and not country hicks. She singled out Sarah Palin and implied that because Alaska is so far removed from the rest of the country, that Alaskans just don’t know what’s going on in the “lower 48″. That’s why the question was so insulting! I’m also going to add that I think there was an element of sexism in it too because she didn’t ask the men candidates the same question.

Couric asked Palin, “And when it comes to establishing your world view, I was curious, what newspapers and magazines did you regularly read before you were tapped for this — to stay informed and to understand the world?”
Who knew so much was hidden beneath that simple question: Alaskans are uneducated, Alaskans can’t read, Alaskans don’t know what’s going on in the rest of the world, Alaskans are backwoods hillbillies, Alaskans are hicks, Alaskans are 100 years behind the times, Alaskans never read a magazine or a newspaper, Alaskans don’t know what’s going on in the lower 48. And all this under the further cloak of sexism! Good thing there are Palin supporters to point out all this invisible stuff to the rest of us.
Is it true that if you play the tape backwards, Palin supporters can hear Couric say Ron Paul is a dead man?
