Interview with the President: All Necessary Steps Will Be Taken to Prevent Another Tragedy Like Ft. Hood

ABC News’ Sunlen Miller reports: During an exclusive broadcast interview today with ABC, the President reiterated that the nation is “heartbroken” by the Ft. Hood shootings last Thursday, but said there are many questions still to be answered.

“We are going to complete this investigation and we’re going to take whatever steps are necessary to make sure that something like this doesn’t happen again,” he said. Obama said it was important to let the investigation play itself out so the details as to how and why the rampage happened are known before he comments further. “I think the questions that we’re asking now and we don’t have yet complete  answers to is, is this an individual who’s acting in this way or is it some larger set of actor? You know, what are the motivations? Those are all questions that I think we have to ask ourselves,” he said. On Tuesday, Obama will attend a memorial service at Ft. Hood for the 13 killed in last week’s shooting. Read more from Jake Tapper’s interview with President Obama HERE. -Sunlen Miller

I’m wondering if the Justice Department will punt–continuing with the political correctness–and not charge Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan with treason?

Why didn’t the administration connect the dots? We need an independent, bipartisan commission to investigate.

Did you here the Army General saying that this massacre ( He called it a “tragic event”)was bad, but it would be worse if the Army lost its policy of “diversification”? I am sad for the families of the slain and wounded soldiers and civilians that they have to hear about protecting “diversification” at this time of their grief. I have been a avid supported of our armed forces all my life, and served in the Army myself. But…this “diversity” trap that gets soldiers killed has got to be corrected. We have got to get tougher about protecting our soldiers at military bases.
Many Thanks to all the veterans that have served our country…I will salute the flag in your honor on Veterans Day, and say a prayer for the families that lost loved ones at FT.Hood. God bless America!

“diversity” isn’t the problem. The problem is that all the racists and bigots this maniac had to deal with on a daily basis are the people representing the US overseas.
Can’t even win hearts and minds here, nevermind elsewhere.

Let me get this straight… They want us to believe that this guy contacted al-Quaeda and better yet, NOBODY batted an eye or thought that contacting our supposed enemy was kosher… REALLY!?! This is beyond absurd. I mean I know the Government and military are incompetent, but COME ON!!! How could they know this and be surprised this happened? Somebody is lying, or somebody belongs in prision for criminal negligence and manslaughter… This story STINKS all the way through. Something aint right here… We are either not being told the real story, or people are completely lying to shield us from the real truth. WHY???

One more question Mr. President…
What if Homeland security or the FBI intercepted inquiries to al-Qaida and let’s say they occurred on multiple occasions but we did not know exactly when the attack would happen.
If you suspected an attack was imminent, and knowing what you know now (13 dead, nearly 40 wounded) would you have waterboarded this guy if it meant preventing the massacre of US Army soldiers from happening?

To Flash overthinking about your bias.
These men and women were serving their Country and protecting your rights. So please unless you want to take up a weapon and stand post; then just provide this great country a little respect and couresty. As a vet I find your comment disgraceful and will place my life to protect your free speech. Unlike insecure Obama who wants to limit free speech. Wake up America!!!!

DIVERSITY is Most Certainly NOT a welcome trait of a MILITARY!!! What is this Casey guy and OBIE smoking!?!
Fine, soldiers can have different colors, sizes, shapes, genders, whatever — but they ABSOLUTELY MUST have a Uniformity of Thought!!! It is NOT a social experiment, it is NOT our Education Establishment Experiment,it is Military whose purpose is to FIGHT FOR THE FREEDOM, RIGHTS and PROTECTION of American citizens. Individual “rights” have no place in a military environment. When you must face an enemy, you MUST have uniformity of PURPOSE, MISSION, BELIEFS.
This Islamic jihadist WhackJob got through because the simpering PC police have bugged the military and forced them to accomodate social structures that COUNTER the purpose of a fighting, yes killing, operation. Hasan should have been DEPORTED or LOCKED UP for TREASON when he first gave his public antiAmerican paper in medschool classes with the military.
Jake you did fall down otj again. Ask the President to explain to you the Islamic value of TARQIYYA the right to LIE about who you are and what you beleive, if it serves a greater purpose (like gaining the presidency, or staying in the military) And how do we as Americans deal with a radical population who feels that they are REQUIRED to LIE about hteir beleifs in order ot gain? You might also ask him how we are to embrace a “belief system” that holds as its tenet the annihilation of all infidels – Christians, Jews, atheists etc.

tell it like it is a terrorist attack..on the military….
it is not about a race religion or someone’s belief
it is about a this one person who choose to join or be a terrorist

MSNBC used the word “diversity” 26 times during the coverage. they used the word terroris 0 times. That just about splains it Lucy.
