Obama Group Targets ‘Dangerous’ Palin

Now that Sarah Palin and Rupert Murdoch are raking in the bucks with her Going Rogue-a-palooza, Obama’s forces are trying to cash in on it too.

Organizing for America, a fundraising arm of the DNC, sent an email to supporters today in an attempt to raise $500,000 off her assertion this fall that Democratic health care bills would create panels of government bureaucrats to decide end-of-life care.

"It's dangerous. Remember, this is the person who coined the term ‘Death Panels’– and opened the flood gates for months of false attacks by special interests and partisan extremists. Whatever lie comes next will be widely covered by the media, then constantly echoed by right-wing attack groups and others who are trying to defeat reform," reads the email from Organizing for America national director Mitch Stewart.

The email asks Obama supporters to donate $5 to “help push back against Sarah Palin and her allies.”

Here’s the full email:

Right now, Sarah Palin is on a highly publicized, nationwide book tour, attacking President Obama and his plan for health reform at every turn.

It's dangerous. Remember, this is the person who coined the term "Death Panels" — and opened the flood gates for months of false attacks by special interests and partisan extremists.

Whatever lie comes next will be widely covered by the media, then constantly echoed by right-wing attack groups and others who are trying to defeat reform.

As we approach the final sprint on health reform, we can't afford more deception and delay. We need to be ready for anything — and have the resources to respond with ads, events, and calls to Congress when the attacks come.

So we're setting a big goal: $500,000 in the next week to help push back against Sarah Palin and her allies. Please chip in $5 to help reach our goal.

Earlier this month, Palin publicly said that she hopes health reform will be "dead on arrival." And since then, she's been working fiercely toward that goal.

On Tuesday, Palin went on Rush Limbaugh's radio show where she outrageously — and falsely — suggested that Americans could "face jail time as punishment" if they don't buy insurance.

Palin has many more interviews scheduled on Hannity and other conservative shows in the next few weeks, with more platforms to go after the President. As soon as she does, the rest of our opponents will likely parrot those attacks.

We need to be prepared. And we're counting on you help. Can you chip in $5?

Thanks,
Mitch Stewart
Director
Organizing for America

I can’t decide if you’re helping the DNC by giving their pitch wider dispersal or attacking them unfairly… Either way, is this really news? I know you guys need a good conflict to push page views, but come on – anyone who cared about the DNC’s fund raising pitch has four copies of it in their inbox, and anyone who didn’t know both parties use Palin (and Obama and apple pie) as an excuse to ask for money is an idiot.

The Dems are checking on her ethics. Charlie Rangel, Maxine Waters, Tim geithner, Chris Dodd and the stimulus guys are leading the charge.

So if you disagree with Obama’s policies you are labled “Dangerous” by ABC News and the Obama Group? What type of country has this turned into that yoou can not voice disagreement with the president’s policies? Since January 2009 it is now illegal to critize the President? Is it because he is black and standards are being lowered? Is it because he is a far Left radical and the media is afraid to go against him? Or is it because Gov. Palin is a female; the media and the Obama Group are sexist? Gov. Romney has been just as critical of the Obama Group, but he is not labled “Dangerous” by the media and the Obama Group. They both so afraid of Gov. Palin because she represents “real” Americans and she is a white female. What will the Obama Group and the liberal media do when Condoleszza Rice endores Gov. Sarah Palin or runs on her ticket in 2012? They will explode….

Obama and the DNC are a bunch of whiney school boys who have nobody but themselves to blame for this awful economic mess. The Democrats controlled Congress during the last two years of the Bush administration. We’re not dumb, we know who is to blame for this mess. Palin speaks the truth and appeals to the heartland of America. The Democrats and LAMEstream Media keep trashing her because they know she’s right. People in America are waking up and the current crop of morons in DC will be voted out in the upcoming elections.

Wait a min. The dems and the news media for a year said she was no threat and today they are worried about her. Wow how the new state run media hides it and just does not get it. And they wonder why their circulation is down.

Peter King – How about: 1) They’re using this to get some money. 2) They hope to promote her because you can about guarantee she’ll split republicans and put Obama back in. BTW, you’re crying about the word dangerous when Palin practically called Obama a terrorist.

Posted by: secondlook | November 20, 2009, 12:16 pm 12:16 pm

Seriously, when did a book tour require the response of the US government to launch a covert operation on a seek and destroy mission. This reaction is insane. I’m not her biggest fan, have never given a dollar to a political candidate before but Im going to mail her a fiver and I may just go out and buy her book for someone as a christmas gift.

They lable her dangerous because she has a lot of followers and she is dangerous to their hold on power.

The US Preventive Services Task Force is an independent agency that recomends treatment procedures for patients. It’s been around since 1998. But all of the sudden, in the healthcare reform debate they are a “death panel”. Some people just watch too much FOX.

Posted by: Robert | November 20, 2009, 12:26 pm 12:26 pm

I guess people do not like facts. Palin was investigated by the Secret Service after her Death Panel B.S. which brought upon death threats directed towards Obama. She is dangerous.

$5 bucks should buy Obama a pack of Camels.

Posted by: Robert Earl Andrews | November 20, 2009, 12:31 pm 12:31 pm

To poster Steve: the reason Palin is dangerous and others, like Romney, aren’t deemed so is simple: Palin lies/exaggerates and Americans actually believe her. They then base their opinions/decisions on falsehoods which I think can reasonably be called dangerous. I am a “real” white American woman and there is no way that Palin comes close to representing me. And my bet is that Condoleszza Rice doesn’t think so either. I’d be shocked if she’d ever chose to support Palin. Now Condy might run against Palin in the primaries & hopefully Americans would see that Rice is about 1000% times more competent than Palin.
Finally, if you think that the letter from Organizing for America states in any way that you can’t voice opinions in opposition to the president or that opposition is in any way illegal, then you’re not a very careful reader. All the letter says is we disagree with what she’s saying, she’s being deceptive, and please send money. If you don’t think that the Republicans say similar things about Democrats to raise money then you haven’t been paying enough attention.

Posted by: Laura | November 20, 2009, 12:31 pm 12:31 pm

Anothe misconception the media is pushing is that Palin’s book is flying off shelves all over the country. There are many places that have ordered less than 10 of her books and they haven’t been able to sell them. It’s not if a book hits no. 1. It’s how long it stays no. 1

Posted by: Robert | November 20, 2009, 12:34 pm 12:34 pm

death panels don’t exist? What do you consider the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force?
Steve | Nov 20, 2009 12:06:08 PM
Most rational people consider than an independent panel of experts in primary care and prevention that systematically reviews the evidence of effectiveness and develops recommendations for clinical preventive services created during the Reagan administration.

Posted by: jhw539 | November 20, 2009, 12:36 pm 12:36 pm

Hey Georgie Boy, looks like you’re getting called out pretty good on this one.
Does anything here make you think the media might be a tad too close to the Obama camp????

Posted by: jbenjamin | November 20, 2009, 12:36 pm 12:36 pm

Why is this report promoting the DNC fund-raising arm’s request for contributions? This article does little more than disseminate the letter to a larger audience. There is a big contrast here. Palin is ‘selling’ a book that was written through her own work. The DNC (true to form) pays for its endeavors by taxation or compulsory dues. Their question is “Can you chip in $5?”. So if you have $5 and you are on their mailing list; hand it over because we know where you live. Would a less sinister question be “Will you chip in $5?” or “Would you buy my book?”.

Posted by: TX_MBell | November 20, 2009, 12:37 pm 12:37 pm

Where is the article about how Obama and Eric Holder “knew” in March 2009 how dangerous Major Hasan was and did nothing. Obama was briefed in his daily PDB in March 2009 that Major Hasan (who was on the Obama Transition Team for Homeland Security) had been communicating with terrorists overseas. It is protocal for the CIA and FBI to brief the President and Attorney General and the HQ, US Army when an active duty officer to talking to terrorists. Obama “knew” in March 2009 and told the CIA, FBI and US Army to lay off Major Hasan, as he didn’t want to offend the Muslisms. This is why “now” the White House is blocking any investigation into Major Hasan and how the President knew months ago. How about an article on how “dangerous” this action was? 13 murdered in Fort Hood because Obama told them to lay of him!!

Actually, the first incarnation was 1984-1989. The recommendations and reports of the Task Force are not official statements or guidelines of the Public Health Service or the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, they are just an expert panel occasionally funded to provide the ‘commons’ service of aggregating current research and best practices for consideration by medical societies, organizations, federal offices, etc.

The current administration of goons and the lame stream media wouldn’t spend so much time and money trying to silence her and demonizing her in a textbook fascist way if she wasn’t truly a threat to them. What’s the old saying, “the dog that barks the loudest is the one that got hit”. The Obama Administration and the lame stream media is barking up a storm over Palin. Go Palin! No, Death Panels DO NOT exist…this is something decided by the patient or family members if the patient is not able to make decisions. As a registered nurse, I find this nitwitted Palin so egregiously irresponsible for spouting off this crap outrageous. There should be somehow to prosecute for disseminating such erroneous information. She either did this purposefully to cause problems and to agitate her ridiculous supporters or she is just THAT stupid that she cannot understand a simple concept. She’s a chronic liar and an extremely mean-spirited woman whose behavior in this matter has been completely irresponsible. What a creep.

This is an extremely smart move. The more Republicans think Obama is afraid of Palin, the more likely Republicans will be to nominate her in 2012. It’s called Rope-A-Dope. Karl Rove used it very effectively in 2004 in the other direction. He got Democrats to think that he was salivating over an easy win over Howard Dean, when Dean (an outsider) was probably the Democrat’s strongest potential candidate.

Palin’s popularity is soaring with a more objective public view of her being presented than was seen in media news clips of the campaign. The only “danger” she represents is to the government takeover of our nation by the current administration. They would like to silence all opposition. It’s my greatest desire that this 2049 page health debacle is stopped cold and recent polls indicate most Americans think the same.

Posted by: Gary | November 20, 2009, 1:23 pm 1:23 pm

Some state that death panels do not exist. Speaking of the current system that is true since there is not currently a monopoly on health care. If the government puts itself at the head of health care then it can dictate to the industry as a whole. A monopoly sets the pricing, service level, and distribution of services. Ideally health care should be fairly and justly administered to all Americans regardless of age, gender, race, religion, or political affiliation. Unfortunately the government’s track record of pork, favors, and corruption trump any hope of a fair and just administration of health care. I’m for health care for all Americans. But there is not rational reason to conclude that the government won’t exploit it in favor of political or personal agendas. The government should never have control of services or industries. Once it has that control then laws and enforcement shift to protecting its own political agendas and bureaucratic wealth. There are reason why Kings and Czars have been overthrown by their people. Must we ignore history?

Posted by: Reality2009 | November 20, 2009, 1:34 pm 1:34 pm

Regardless if they are death panels or care guidelines and quality of life assements panels, it involves a government body dictating the care you can receive. Just like the government panels this week are telling women to forgo self exams, mammograms and cervical cancer screening…to save $$ for the government and health care.
Ha, some future adminstration and congress might just decide that that kidney transplant, insulin treatment and such does not extend your life long enough to warrant the cost of care.
Death panel to me!

jhw539–”Most rational people consider than an independent panel of experts in primary care and prevention that systematically reviews the evidence of effectiveness and develops recommendations for clinical preventive services created during the Reagan administration.” —
Very well said and very accurate (for a change – compared to your normal posts). However, Under a public option plan in which the recommendations of such committees is fodder for healtchcare policy that will be controlled by Sebelious, the possibility of a “death panel” becomes far more believable. Use the most recent recommendation released on the onset and frequency of Mammograms to screen for breast cancer. While the administration is currently petitioning to discount that recommendation, under the government healthcare plan, should Sebelious decide to implement a suggestion like this into the service regimen of allowable treatments, she will have that athority. In other words, under government healthcare, if Ms Sebelious decides to implement the recommendation to disallow coverage of mammograms to anyone under the age of 50.. she has the authority to make it the standard for anyone receiving government healthcare..
Are you comfortable with the government having that much say in what is or is not acceptable when it comes to YOUR health decisions? I know that I am not.

Good news. Today Obama has dropped below 50 percent approval in the Gallop Poll for the first time. Today’s Rasmussen has him at -14 approval for the third straight day, also a record.
Let’s see what else is going on.
–Palin sold 300,000 books in one day (yesterday).
–Fox is booming.
–The Wall Street Journal now has the largest circulation, taking the lead from left-leaning USA Today.
–Conservatism is booming (see Gallop for details).
–Hard-left New York Times laid off another 150 staff.
–Hard-left CNN viewership is down 30 percent.
–Hard-left MSNBC viewership is down 10 percent.
Despite the breathy assertions from the Obama Kool Aid Kids here, things are moving away from Obama and the hard left at a very, very rapid pace.
Keep the faith, Americans. We WILL take the country back from the arrogant, incompetent children, Marxists, communists and America-haters in the White House.

If ones physician is sending not so sublet messages that you just might like to pull the plug rather than fight your illness, and he is REQUIRED to sit down with you and say that — then I think that needs to be brought out–and the term “death panels” sure brought it out, didn’t it. I would not want my doctor sending messages to me if my life was hanging in the balance that he was ok with quitting the fight. THAT’S what is dangerous–it undermines patient resolve and makes one feel abandoned to have ones doctor go mushy on them when their life is at stake. THAT IS THE DANGER HERE FOLKS

The All Barack Channel, was it really necessary George to give the whole DNC letter? 14 AP reporters to investigate her book, not one for Obama’s 2 books or Biden’s one book. The MSM is so afraid of her because she is a smart and attractive woman. I have never seen such outright bullying in my life. She’s a rocket scientist compared to Joe Biden, everyime he opens his mouth he says something stupid. She would have made a much better VP. THE MSM have not figured it out yet, most Americans don’t trust them, they are so in the bag for Obama, with ABC and Georgie boy leading the way.

I know people see her as a strong woman who has had to deal with hardships, but all the strong women that I know care deeply about their families, so deep as to not **** them, and their troubles out to make a quick buck or even win an election. I for one think she should have named her book “Going Rouge” (I didn’t think of this myself I just saw these shirts at http://www.notnotrelevant.com just giving credit where it’s due).
As a woman, as an American, and as a human I would just hope more people would learn to be the strong silent type and stop spreading hate and lies. Even if it is in a pretty package. The more she talks…the better…IMO

Why do people confuse being competent to run for or hold public office with having a valid opinion? Sarah Palin may not be competent enough to be president or even vice president, but I happen to agree with her on almost every one of her positions. I haven’t seen any evidence from the left that she is wrong and, from what I’ve read of the Health Care Reform Bill, she’s right on.

We are head for a MEDICAID health care. Have you ever been on MEDICAID GEORGE. NO, it is a nightmare. The service is awful and so are the doctors. You pride yourself in being objective but you are far from it. You are liberal and would rather see this country in trillions of dollars in debt.

Why is Obama and his party so scared of a little 5’6″ mother of five children? Doent he have bigger things to worry about? This is another example of what a weak man and president he is. It is also disgusting that he is seeking money for this when 17 million people are unemployed and the number of hungry homeless people continue to rise. Shame on him for even saying he is for the american people. He is a sick man.

Who cares about Sarah Palin? She
was the biggest factor in John McCain
losing the Presidential election and she
only finished a half term as Governor
of Alaska.
Now try to think of what your savings
and 401k’s would look like today without
the steps that have been taken by Obama
to shore up the horrible market crash.
Also think of what social security would have looked like if we would have
followed the Republican lead in privatising social security before the collapse.

Sarah Palin is far better for this country than Obama. She wants what is best for this country. He wants what’s best for him and his cronies. Sarah is proud to be an American. Obama is not. Sarah has much more experience at running things than Obama. She was fairly elected to each office, and ran on her record. Obama has never run anything. All he did in the senate was try to get things done for his constituents in IL. He never balanced a budget. Even if Sarah never makes it any further in elected office, she has done, and will continue to do more good for this country than Obama has done, or will do.

This is hardly surprising, Obama and his lemmings accused anyone who disagreed with his policies of being racist, Pelosi and Reid (along with the empty suited charlatan) accused American citizens who dared show up for town halls in their districts to express thier dismay at the un-Constitutional and un-American policies they’ve been pushing only to be attacked and ostracized as Nazi’s, insurance stooges, etc. just so the corrupt scum at the DNC could use it as an excuse to send union thugs into our districts to try to silence us (failed miserably – I guess the union weenies are even more limp wristed than Obama)and every single person, private or public who has questioned their wisdom has been dismissed as a danger, investigated, etc. etc. etc. all with the help of the unscrupulous and discredited MSM!
Remember – these are the very same folks who said protesting and making your voice heard was the very epitome of being American – as long as it’s Republican you’re protesting.
I guess the dems/liberals/MSM are nearly as interested in defending free speech as they keep pretending they are.
Hey – DNC corrupt slimebags! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE send your union thugs to TRY to protect that lying, cowardly weasel Doggetts seat in the next cycle – PLEASE send your goons to try to silence us – we are so looking forward to it!

“Can you imagine this woman being are president? ”
Why, yes! – After four years of failure under Obama anyone could get elected. Maybe even me! Wouldn’t that be cool.
Fortunately, America has a strong female who understands what is needed to bring America back from the bring. First and foremost, we must consider Palinomics. We sit on 1.3 trillion barrels of known oil reserves (Brakken, off-shore, Colorado oil shale, and ANWAR) here in the US, which is greater than any other nation, and yet we run a huge trade deficit to buy foreign oil. We give up the jobs and the tax revenue (should be a sweet piece of candy to our liberal friends) that we could have simply by changing our anti-exploration and anti-production policies. This change alone could bring an unprecedented boom to our economy.

Steve wrote: “Really? death panels don’t exist? What do you consider the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force?”
Sarah Palin has recently admitted “Death Panels” don’t exist! The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force was created during the Reagan administration in 1984 and it’s been funded by GOP Congresses or been in GOP Presidents’ Budgets from 1984-1992 and 1995-2009. If it’s a “Death Panel”, which party is most responsible for it?
Note that in any case, it is NOT a creation of the democratic health reform bills, to which Palin originally now says she “used the term ‘death panels’ to make a point” – in other words, lied!

“Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the President or any other public official save exactly to the degree in which he himself stands by the country. … Every man who parrots the cry of “stand by the President” without adding the proviso “so far as he serves the Republic” takes an attitude as essentially unmanly as that of any Stuart royalist who championed the doctrine that the King could do no wrong. The same could be said for Obama and many members of his administration so I suggest using another reason. The DNC is un-American – self serving crooks who don’t give a dam about the American people. They are lazy, crooked, and only care about themselves.
Obama has lied to us all – we were fooled – Obama doesn’t have the right stuff – just look at who he has around him – Holder, Pelosi, Reid, frank, shumer etc.

“People are waiting in line early in the morning just to get a glimpse of her.”
Maybe there’s not a lot else to do in Grand Rapids, Michigan or Frostbite Falls, Minnesota except go to the freak show.
Step right up, see the “Woman Without A Brain”! You’ll be amazed by her ability to make millions of dollars – without having a job.
You’ll see her walking and talking and incredibly life-like but without any conscious thought or grasp of reality.
You’ll gasp in awe and fear as you hear the crowd say over and over – she’s so much like us.

When Palin becomes prez in 2012 and obama goes crawling back to the swamps of “pay to play” politics in chicago, America will be on the right path again. Let’s just hope we can hold on until then!

I am an independent who I’d like to ask one question President Obama. Why is it that Obama and the rest of Democrats are so insecured and fearful of Sarah Palin who is now a private citizen? There are other important critical matters that Obama and his cabinet must concentrate on and their concentration is focus on their fears towards Palin??
The Libs Like Begala often time commenting that Palin is a dumb governor and a quitter. Then why are they so fearful of this woman?? Sarah Palin is really that dangerous, huh?? Well, if ever Palin runs for POTUS on 2012, I and my family and friends will surely think of voting her because we like a leader who is dangerous. For us dangerous means with balls, with courage to fight corruption and wrong doing, and it means standing up for the best interest of American people.

Well, I guess when you’re backed into a corner, the only thing you’ve got left is to attack. The Dems are not using common sense; they let their ideology get in the way of open honest and transparent debate. They are kind of like being of the mindset of a monarchy and close to being dictators.

HOW TRUE
Most people prefer to believe their leaders are just and fair even in the face of evidence to the contrary, because once a citizen acknowledges that the government under which they live is lying and corrupt, the citizen has to choose what he or she will do about it. To take action in the face of a corrupt government entails risks of harm to life and loved ones. To choose to do nothing is to surrender one’s self-image of standing for principles. Most people do not have the courage to face that choice. Hence, most propaganda is not designed to fool the critical thinker but only to give moral cowards an excuse not to think at all.”

To posters concerned about Palin’s reference to “death panels:” It is not “politically correct” to use that phrase, but anyone who has followed Obama’s health czar / friend / in-sider, Zeke Emanuel, knows that the “rationing” or gov’t decision-making intrusion into people’s health issues is very real.
Obama, his czars and sneaky Chicago dealings are so much more “teflon” than anything the Clintons ever did. Incredible ability to bamboozle the public.

“We need to see Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh and other Republican leaders for what they have become. Traitors to our American Constitution and our country! These hateful and personal attacks on our President are becoming more and more deranged and are dangerous.”
Tensai13: The danger and it is huge is in the Chicago mob we have in charge of the US right now.
It is not OK to speak loudly and publicly to challenge that close knit power hungry clique in charge but so far they can’t control Americans ability to think and speak.
I receive tons of emails from every conceivable Obama group with all kinds of attacks on every GOP element. They and the power abuse are over the top dangerous.

People who hate limbaugh and others have usually never even listened to his radio show. They are typically just mindless robots who heard one day that “BUSH LIED KIDS DIED” and thought that it sounded believable.
These robots are the same idiots who went on to vote for a man who comfortably sat in one of the most racist churches I have ever seen for 20 years. He also allowed the terrorist bill ayers to have one of his senate fund raisers in his living room.
Liberal socialists like obama hate America, which is apparent by his past words/speeches and his loooong list of anti-American friends. 2012 can not come soon enough!

Palin is ‘dangerous’ because she makes sense and is really well liked. This is the most stupid email I’ve ever written. Complete idiots this group. They’re raising money to muzzle Sarah Palin against a monstrosity of a healthcare “reform” bill because she’ll call them out as it is and it will be echoed by the media and their opponents?
Get some better rhetoric. Also, for those of you who are too intellectually cchallenged to understand the “Death Panels”; it’s a metaphor for the section of the Bill which creates new experts known and grows government bureaucracy at the whim of the President’s appointments that will create the Health Choices Administration. This is who will be deciding level of benefits are allowed.
Those are the death panels. Perhaps if anyone actually read the bill – and start digging through it – you would get it. Liberal spin is so outrageous; they claim to be intellectually superior to the rest of us – and they don’t understand an English 102 course from college and what a metaphor means?

The DNC and the Democrat party are corrupt, criminal enterprises filled with the most unethical, power hungry people in our history. Think George Soros and the union thugs who fund most of their shenanigans. They do not believe in our nation and the principles upon which it was founded and they are seeking to remake it in an image that was never intended, but that they believe will seal their power for perpetuity. It is THEY and their supporters, who are easily fooled and used with the promise of a gimme or to “get” someone else, who are a profound danger to this country.

Just as you would say that “privacy” is described in the Constitution, though it is not named.
Just as you would say “abortion” is described in the Constitution, though not named.

the economic probs we’ve been having are the result of what happened, originally, in the mid-nineties.
That’s when Barney Frank, Christopher Dodd and Bill Clinton rejected regulation of mortgage-lending industry. That’s when mortgage lenders began offering sub-prime mortgages, and stupid idiots who had no chance of retaining the mortgages, accepted the offers.
The problem could have been solved in the early 2000s, when offered legislation to regulate the mortgage-lenders. Barney Frank, then, said that they need no regulation, that they are sound. So, again, the Democrats rejected regulation of the mortgage-lending industry.
About that time, George Bush warned of what was coming, as the result of that rejection by the Democrats.
So, there is another reason to vote against the Democrats next November. Reasons are just piling up. It’s not as though we didn’t have reason enough before this.

“Shomida Panels” if you look at the socialist countries like Canada or Britain that have socialized medicine you will see medical care is rationed the way the govt. sees fit. It has to due to the sheer economics of it. Govt’s are notoriously bad money managers and people are running out of the money to pay for these programs. Our Federal Govt. used to be in charge of the medical system. Due to bad management from the govt. medical was offloaded onto the provinces. The Federal Govt. did not stop taking taxes for medical from us, they just no longer allocated it for medical purposes. The provinces are now left scambling to maintain govt. medical without the funding. And you guessed it. There are cut backs and inferior care along with higher and higher taxes (50% of our income goes to taxes) and a much lowered standard of living. Just recenlty an elderly man here in British Columbia, Canada needed a battery for his pace maker. They told him he could have the battery in 3 months. His doctor told him he’d be dead in 3 momths if he didn’t get it. The “medical authorities panel” said to bad that’s what you’re getting. He had to plead his case to a television news advocacy program who eventually got him his pace maker battery. I and many of my friends and acquantances could not find a new or different family doctor because they just announced they weren’t taking anymore patients. The point you don’t seem to want to understand is is that there is proof in other parts of the world that restricting care is part of the reality of socialzed medicine for the reasons I have stated above. These govt panels or consultants will not be named as death panels etc. they will have more covert names in order to avert people’s fears. We all agree that there need to be changes, but I would urge you to be careful at turning your entire system over to Govt.

Dear “Shomidahh” – You need to look at the bigger picture here. This is the last time I’m going to try to get through to you. I’m not an expert on the US health care bill. What I’m telling you is that whether they are quoted chapter and verse in a bill, restricted access will happen as it has to due to economic and socialized medicine realities and they won’t be called death panels. I would caution you in giving up your health rights to the govt. I really hope that is stated simply enough for you to understand now. Dealing with you might just be a case of not cofusing you with the facts which would be a typical liberal minded mindset and in that case I will rest my case.

“…This bill would require virtually every American to have –- not just insurance -– but the type of insurance approved by the Obama administration. The cost of this insurance is projected by PriceWaterhouse to be $25,900 for a family policy by 2019. This is dramatically more than the premiums if Congress did nothing, with the only difference being that you would be required to pay the inflated premiums, under penalty of fine and, ultimately, imprisonment…” MICHAEL HAMMOMND
