Palin Gives New Life to ‘Death Panels’
ABC News’ Rick Klein reports: Sarah Palin is bringing "death panels" back to life. Three months after creating a firestorm with a widely debunked claim that President Obama's plans could leave her son with Down syndrome's fate decided by a "death panel," Palin is again raising the specter of "death panels" in arguing against Democrats' health care plans. In a posting on her Facebook page late Saturday, Palin, R-Alaska, said the fact that the House adopted an amendment barring the use of public funds for abortions shows that Democrats weren't being honest when they assured the public that abortions wouldn't be covered under the bill. Palin added: "We had been told there were no 'death panels' in the bill either. But look closely at the provision mandating bureaucratic panels that will be calling the shots regarding who will receive government health care." At a speech Friday night in front of a gathering of abortion opponents in Wisconsin, Palin didn't say "death panels." But she left the same impression in saying that if policy-makers don't value the life of a child in a womb, "perhaps the same mind-set applies to other persons." "And what about the child who perhaps isn't deemed normal or perfect per someone's subjective measure of their use or questionable purpose in the eyes of a panel of bureaucrats making our health care decisions for us," Palin said, according to Politico's Jonathan Martin, who was at the event. A Palin spokeswoman did not immediately respond to a request for comment from ABC News. Democrats are teeing off over the fact that Palin is bringing "death panels" back into the discussion, after non-partisan fact-checkers have repeatedly rejected such claims: "The only demise she hastens with her outrageous fear-mongering, extremist rhetoric and right-wing regressive positions is that of a viable Republican Party going into 2010 and beyond," said Hari Sevugan, a spokesman for the Democratic National Committee.

The Health Choices Commissioner is still in the bill and will be in charge of what care you get. Common sense dictates that an increase of people + a decrease of funds and doctors = rationing. Another interseting twist is that US citizens will be fined or jailed if they do not purchase healthcare insurance, yet Timothy Geitner evaded taxes, Charlie Rangel didn’t report income to the IRS,Kevin Jennings didn’t report child sexual abuse and receive a free get out of jail pass, go figure!

Ms Palin is a chronic liar who would set herself on fire to get attention. As a registered nurse, her moronic and irresponsible comments on healthcare are infuriating. Why are public figures allowed to lie? A shame her mother wasn’t on birth control

Palin is an artesian well of ignorance. She’s the Republican gift to Democrats that just keeps on giving.
Moose Barbie is a great example of “it is better to be silent and thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.”
May Sarah never stop running her mouth!

Why does anyone still listen or publish what Palin has to say. She graduated from five colleges in six years dammit and should have stuck to beauty contests and the entertainment industry. There is nothing deep or well reasoned ever come out of Palin.
Because there was well intentioned disagreement among democrats about how far the BAN on abortion went? Heck, a more conservative group could fault the agreement further (refuse to even let women pay outside exchanges for their own choices and remove the exceptions on rape, incest, or threat to the mother) and would that mean the current ammendment is a lie also? This attempt by some GOPers to turn a health care bill into a new abortion bill or a new comprehensive immigration reform bill is not right or possible and Americans should stop getting jerked by this silliness.

So many people refer to Ms. Palin’s comments in a derisive manner. They refer to her as a “gift” to those who support healthcare reform. Isn’t it interesting, however, that the statements she makes seem to resound with people and the media continues to pick up on everything she says? She may say things in ways that don’t sound scholarly or highly intellectual to some, but she speaks the language of the common person. Agree with her or not, in many ways she has become the voice of people who are frustrated and disgusted with the typical inside-the-beltway, Washington DC mentality right now.

You may not lile Paline but she is telling the truth if you are old or really sick the gov. health care will not be there for you.If you think Health care is exsensive now wait till its free or everone is covered. The true liers in this programs are the ones that say it will be good and it will cover 95% of Americans. Ive said before if this is so great then why does it not cover then or there families. As for controlling cost there is not one thing in this bill to do that plus they have made it a crimanial act not not buy there insurance.

Palin’s only saying this because she’s not getting enough attention.

It’s amazing how Ms. Palin can be so disrespectful and they call her a so-called conservitive. If anything this bill will help individuals with special needs. She can afford coverage for her son with down sydrome, however there are average American citizens who cannot afford the proper care for their special needs kids and are hundreds and thousands of dollars in debt with medical bills and that’s with health coverage.

Okay… its time to shut BabyDoll down. The media just should not provide coverage to her unless she is willing to sit with the press to fully explain her views. Its time to end this FaceBook/smoke signal strategy. Without question this woman has the “power” to draw. Now its time to make her accountable of it. If she has something say, I say give her a forum by which she can, but also to be objectively questioned. Her previous claim was debunked, yet she nearly caused a derailment of the Healthcare initiative. It’s fine if she disagrees but I for one would like to hear what facts exactly she is basing her claims upon.

Posted by: jenny | November 9, 2009, 12:53 pm 12:53 pm
CORRECT JENNY!!! Someone should bring the 2002 film, “John Q” to BabyDoll’s attention! I do recommend the fil to those who have not seen it. Below is a synopsis:
John Quincy Archibald (Denzel Washington) is with his wife Denise (Kimberly Elise) at his son’s baseball game. As his son (Daniel E. Smith) runs around the bases and heads to second, he grabs his chest and collapses. After a series of tests at the hospital, John is informed that Michael has an enlarged heart and will need a transplant. However, his health insurance has been changed by the company he works for to a cheaper option and the new policy does not cover the surgery, so they must raise $75,000 (30% of the $250,000 transplant fee) in order to get their son’s name on the list of likely recipients of an available heart. The family tries to raise the money by selling some of their possessions and helping out their neighbors, but to no avail. Eventually, the hospital gets tired of waiting for payment and decides to release Michael.
This film in a sense was one before its time. It was a great story about HMO’s and what treatments they allow or won’t.
…hmmm, the current HMO’s sound more like death panels to me! Jes’ sayin’

Joe Wilson deserves an apology. Obama stood in front of the nation and lied to everyone one of us about abortion not being in the health care reform bill. If it was NOT in the bill, then why did they have to pass the ammendment Saturday night?
Why doesn’t the media question Obama about his big fat lie to the nation?

While Palin may be over exaggerating the issue, the basic premise is not without valid indications, that such may eventually become the case, at least to some degree.
That has actually happened in the UK’s National Health Service, where some care is in fact denied, due to the individual’s advanced age.
There is no reason to expect, that governmental control would be any different here, than there.
Perhaps the true indication, is whether treatment is at least provided to relieve pain for those who are denied other treatment.
Of course, National Health Care in the US, will eventually become necessary, in order to remove the profiteering from health care, and control costs. Nothing less will accomplish the goal of reducing costs.
Perhaps we won’t see “Logan’s Run” kind of mandated extinction by age 30 (or perhaps we will), but there is no doubt, that excessive world populations will become a prime factor in discouraging keeping people alive, past a point in the aging process.
It should become obvious, of course, that all of the attention being paid to prolonging people’s longevity, is counterproductive, in a world that is already so overpopulated with humans, that we are destroying the planet, through our numbers.
Health care would be much better advised, to concentrate on disease control, rather than longevity extension, not so much to keep people alive, but to relieve suffering.
In the end, of course, we have only 40 yrs. until our numbers get too large for the planet to recover from, so if we haven’t done anything about population control by then, the process is likely to become irreversible anyway, and the entire issue of health care will become of no particular importance, as the planet will enter its final decline and death.
The true Armageddon, is overpopulation of the species.

Well, lets look at reality for a moment. In the UK under fully nationalized health care, such an imperfect child (which NO ONE has ever proposed for the US), such a child received 67 years (and counting) of intensive and exemplary care. He is now one of the most distinguished theoretical physicians of his generation, Stephen Hawking, and has explicitly thanking the British National Health Service for their high quality socialized care.
But that’s just reality; I wonder why the opponents of health care have to keep painting non-existent dark fantasies to argue against health care?

The ‘real’ problem here is that Palin does not speak the language most of us are accustom to hearing. Perhaps if she spoke Biden’s or Clinton’s language she would be more acceptable. There are lots of ways to present the facts. Some ways are just more subtle than others. Perhaps she needs to be less direct in making her point and gently lead the audience to the inevitable conclusions. It always raises ire when someone is told something upfront that reveals to the hear that they need to adjust their mindset. Most politician say what the people want to hear to bait and switch them to the politicians agenda. Straight and ‘simple’ talk is something too many people can’t handle.

Death Panels have been in the works since the beginning of time. It was a Republican Governor Jeb Bush who unplugged Terri Shivo. Who’s is death panel Palin, your own kind — Republican Blood on your hands kind.
Stop slinging lies and distort the truth when you know that if a patient can’t afford medical care as an indigent that they deserve to die as the Republican party poses. Republicans shout if you can’t afford health care you die. Health Care is for the rich and Republican party only. No, no death panels here, and until Palin is a health care worker in a hospital and see the line drawn in the sand night after night, then her words don’t apply. Also, we Americans aren’t going to pay for her child’s health care through disabilities. More than likely she has claimed him as a disabled child and we tax payers pay for his health issues. Is that right Palin or do you want to shed some light on his health for Americans? Why don’t you come clean with your scare tactics and let the American public know how you get your health care paid for your child that you personally extort.

If you add 46million more people to existing healthcare, without increasing the medical personel to treat them, there will be rationing, at which point some burecrate will be deciding who gets treated and who doesn’t. You can call it what you want but it is only logical, the very young and the very old will be the last to be treated. “Death Panels”!!!!!

Posted by: Amy in Maine | November 9, 2009, 4:30 pm 4:30 pm
‘…there will be rationing, at which point…”
There has been, is and will always be rationing of HC from now until the end of time. Unless a resource is unlimited, it has to be rationed.
Right now, it’s rationed by a faceless bureaucrat sitting at a phone in your insurance company’s office – A person who decides which life-saving procedures will be paid for and which will not – or as Sarah would say a “Death Person”.
These “Death People” are motivated by a desire to save their bosses money, not make your family safe and healthy. Why are they not villain-ized? – Because it’s a “business decision” not a govt. one.
As The Joker would say, no matter how horrible it is, you can kill hundreds of people and as long as its a “business decision” no one gets upset – because it’s all part of the plan.
So these Death People would be replaced by a panel that is motivated by providing the best possible care to the most number of people, instead of getting a bonus for their vacation home in Aruba.

OBwan,
You are correct, health care will always be rationed b/c it is finite. Who do you want to do the rationing? One can appeal to your private insurance office, hire a lawyer to advocate for you etc. If the government is calling the medical decisions, who do you call? 1-800-govbeaurocrat??? There is no redress for your grievances. One can’t sue the government. Health insurance needs reform…not a take over by government.

Your hatred for Mrs. Palin is pitiable.

“Who do you want to do the rationing?”
I thought I made that clear – I DON’T want the person who profits from denying care decided rather a doctor is allowed to perform a procedure. I don’t want huge bonuses to be paid for by money taken from people that are sick, suffering and dying.
“Your hatred for Mrs. Palin is pitiable.”
I only mention Palin in passing. To be fair, if she thinks that a panel making HC payment decisions is a “death panel” than insurance companies should be called “death companies” – that’s only fair.
Palin is the best weapon in the the dem arsenal to ensure that the cons stay on the outside looking in.

As it stands today, just what does Sarah Palin call the insurance boards who decide who can and cannot receive certain medical treatments and proceedures. if not a “death panel”?
We’ve seen insurance board decisions in action, and what they do and say has the same ring to it as the tripe she’s espousing. Think about it. “Death panels”, exist, and it’s not in the new much hoped for health program that will be coming up for a vote in the Senate. Death panels have been with us for decade upon decade, and hopefully a nationwide health care program will remove this sort of power from those who make life and death decisions concerning all of us, and I have to say, it’s about time.
Posted by: SandiH | November 9, 2009, 6:49 pm 6:49 pm
insurance companies have death panels already, some ex-employees have reported to congress they purposely denied procedures that would have prevented death and no one cared because it saved them a ton of money. I believe the government is more responsible than profitable insurance companies because they are tax-payer accountable, who they are going to serve with the healthcare, not just wall street

I think the attacks on Palin are useless and wrong. I do think she is right about the Government Health Care Plan now pushed through the House. We will be forced to insure illegal aliens and that gives me no good feeling as it already is hurting our health care system.
I also do not believe in a new government agency running health care well as we never have had any work well before. At least with private companies we can sue, but with the government we are sunk.

My folks told me today that as of 12/31 that their doctors group at a very large univesity health system will no longer accept AARP advantage, which supplements their medicare. Humana and BCBS are ok but none of that AARP stuff.
And to make matters worse, they travel from a rural area to the city to even get a doctor as more and more Doctors are either booked with all the medicare patients they can take or they simply won’t take anymore due to the payment schedules. So much for Government health care.
Anyone with just a little sense would ask ; if these plans that Congress are sticking us with are so great, regardless of death panels or any of the other media swirl we are faced with why then are they exempt from this? Are they better than we? Don’t we pay our taxes and their wages and benefits. Get a clue people we are being screwed.

Sarah Palin is absolutely right about the existence of Death Panels. Every year thousands of Americans are condemned to death when their healthcare insurer denies paying for life saving procedures or surgerys. The death panels do exist, not in the form of government bureacrats, but instead exist in the form of healthcare insurance company bureacrats that make these life and death decisions every day. Obama’s Healthcare Bill will end these insurance company “death panels” once and for all.

Apparently, Sarah Palin has no idea of what insurance companies currently do. The “death panel” idea was , of course, a figment of her vivid imagination. Insurance companies can(and do) advise people to have a “living will” every day. It’s called “case management”. The bill proposed that doctors be paid for discussing “end of life” issues. Now,why is it that Sarah calls the government proposal of a fee payment a “death panel”. I can’t believe people have not figured out that: a) Sarah lies, and, b)Sarah wants to run for President so she is trying to stay in the “public eye” while hoping to keep her dysfunctional family going with the proceeds from her book.

I am amazed that anyone thinks there is not “rationing” of health care now. What do you think insurance companies do? Give out Freebies to anyone walking the streets? One has to be moronic not to realize that health care in the US is a huge industry run largely for profit. Does that mean you get the best health care in the world? Sadly, the US is something like 37th, so no, you don’t. Furthermore, a lot of people are dying for lack of any health care at all. The Republicans are counting on YOUR PERCEPTION that your health care is good. It isn’t, and they know it, which is why Sarah and her friends continue to lie to you.

Get real and listen to what is being said by everyone. I do not trust any politician, especially when they say it will only cost $829 Bn, then it is $1.2 trillion, and now is $3.2 trillion over 10 years. Tax increases for everyone – Obama says no but unless you are not working I say YES.

Here’s a little factoid regarding a CEO of a major insurance company…Ron Williams – Aetna
Total Compensation: $24,300,112
Details: Williams earned $24,300,112 in total compensation for 2008, with more than half of that ($13,537,365) coming from option awards. He also received an additional $6,456,630 in stock awards to go along with his base salary of $1,091,764.
Personal use of a corporate aircraft and vehicle, as well as financial planning and 401(k) company matches added up to $101,487 for Williams.
OK boys and girls, what could this person POSSIBLY DO to make him worth that money? just stop for a minute and think about why the insurance lobbyists are in a meltdown trying to fight ANY kind of reform…these corporations make ridiculous amounts of money, and they do it by minimizing what they have to pay for. ANY opportunity to deny coverage is an opportunity to increase big salaries and dividends. Politicians know it, most smart people know it but lots of folks are still stuck in THE MATRIX. Greed is the foundation of the insurance companies and that will always win out over people.

Death Panels, yes I think there are “Death Panels”. These Death Panels masquerade as Health Insurance Companys. When a “for profit” health insurance company decides what procedures it will pay for and what procedures it will deny or refuses coverage due to pre-existing conditions -then yes these health insurers are the “death panels”.
Remember there is nothing, not your health, not your families health, not your child’s health, that is more to these insurance companies than their profits and these profits are made by denying care.

You posted, “Death Panels have been in the works since the beginning of time. It was a Republican Governor Jeb Bush who unplugged Terri Shivo”….If you would stop trying to rewrite history, you’d realize that when Ms. Shivo’s tubes were removed, it was Jeb Bush that ordered the the tubes to be replaced until the matter was resolved in the courts. Personally, I’m of the belief that the tubes being removed was probably the correct decision. But I had to comment after reading your accusation that it was Jeb Bush who pulled the plug. Obama was sworn into office less than one year ago. The load of crap left to him and his people by the Bush administration (recession, war, etc.)will take a decade to undo. Thank god he has the courage to take a moral stand in favor of the poor or folks who are ruined by the cost of a medical crisis in their lives. Nobody can fix the ills of this country in less than a year. But let’s don’t forget who made the mess he’s now cleaning up. I’m assuming you voted for W, why can’t you admit to the HUGE failure he was? His stink will linger for quite awhile, no matter how hard you try to bearate people for talking about it.

Winston Churchill once said that the scariest thing about democracy is a 10-minute conversation with an average voter. That is, the average voter is an idiot when it comes to knowing the facts and how they interact with one another to produce the world we live in. Sarah Palin is a media fotogenic mental midget who has a following of likewise people who don’t have a clue of the actual facts, and she plays those followers like a fiddle. It is astounding, and scary, some of the things that some of you Palin followers state to be facts in forums like this. Scary because you generally don’t know what you are talking about, but think you are the world’s expert on the subject. Just like Sarah (the joke) Palin. You spew out a distortion of one very convenient small aspect of a very multi-faceted involved issue and run with it like a bunch of idiots. Did you ever think about this? There is a term “liberal intellectuals”, but you never hear the term “conservative intellectuals”. Conservatives don’t find it convenient to be associated with the concept of “intellectual”, i.e., using your brains instead of your mouth. Interesting.

Hey, Mary…it was YOU who went on the attack as soon as i posted in here….and your use of the word, “Dude” pretty much summed up your debating skills. When are you liberals going to stop blaming Bush for the mess we are in now? Bush had the backing of the Congress in “his” wars. I do not support his fiscal policies at all, so you can jump right off that horse. Few conservatives do support his spending. That’s why the conservatives are voting independently. Bush was NOT a huge failure, regardless of how much you hate to think otherwise. The fiscal problems? How about the fact that Bush had to deal with the 9/11 event? How about the fact that our country was stricken by HUGE natural disasters (Katrina, Rita, massive flooding in the midwest, and blizzards in Montana? How about the wild fires in california?) Take off your blinders. Obama has been in office for less than 10 months, and he has already set RECORD deficits, and has nothing to show for his efforts…except for the “million or more” mystery jobs that have been created or saved….even though unemployment is skyrocketing? How about his Hurry Up And Pass this stimulus bill without thinking, or the world will end? All I’m asking for is for that social experiment to start taking some responsibility. I want him to stop whining and man up. Hillary is more of a man than Obama. Playing basketball with the good ol’ boys is NOT helping our country

John, conservatives don’t have to label ourselves intellectual. We don’t need it for our egos, and we certainly believe that true intellect is a trait that is recognized by others without the need for such labels. Name calling (such as Sarah (the joke) Palin) sort of throws cold water on your argument about intellect, don’t you think? Rather sophomoric in most circles.

RE: ncpilot10
Your evaluation of Bush’s years — record stock market, dems take control, everything crashes is a great example of you and yours not knowing what the heck you are talking about. The stock market was at a record high, because Wall Street was making record profits, based on the worthless market derivatives they were selling. Those derivatives were based on those worthless mortgages you think the dems put into place. In reality, those worthless mortgages were requested by the Wall Street Republicans who needed a continuing supply of mortgages to turn into those worthless derivative securities that they were getting rich selling. The only reason that was allowed to go on was because your beloved Mr. Bush got rid of the oversight(regulators) in all these areas and let them do whatever they(Wall Street) wanted. Then when those valueless securities imploded, the economy imploded. And your version of this is it was caused by the dems coming into power. Are you serious?! The dems were not in power. They had a SIMPLE majority that was overriden by the Republicans EVERY SINGLE TIME over those 2 yrs and basically NOTHING got accomplished out of congress those 2 yrs you are referring to. This economic mess can be traced right back to your favorite Republicans in office for 8 yrs.

Are you kidding — conservatives don’t need to call themselves intellectuals to satisfy their ego, etc!? You are implying that the intellectuals are the ones calling themselves intellectuals. Excuse me, but it’s you conservatives that always derisively labeling highly educated people as “intellectuals”, not they themselves! And calling Palin a joke is not unintellectual, as you imply, it is merely stating a fact that she tries to prove over and over again every time she opens her mouth.
Posted by: john | November 9, 2009, 9:36 pm 9:36 pm
See, john, it is YOU who is totally wrong about the “facts” concerning the mortgage mess. You’ll find no argument from me about the worthless securities that evolved from the mortgage institutes lending to unviable candidates. THAT started out innocently enough…as a way to spread the risk to the loans that they were forced to provide for fear of having the gov’t come down on them. The beginning of the mess, though, is still the government’s insistence that loans be given to folks without being able to ‘discrimate’ on a person’s ability to repay. Once that Pandora’s Box was opened, there was no more putting the genie back into the bottle. And the “rich wall street” persons making a fortune of that were not limited to the republicans (there’s one of those little “stretch the truth factoids” that you like to accuse conservatives with. There were as many Democratic folks making millions from those junk securities as republicans). And the drivel about the “dems not being in power” is more liberal excuse making. They WERE in power, and they were NOT overridden every single time by the big bad republicans. That’s just a childish pouty statement that the libs are becoming quite adapt at. Always pointing the finger, never taking responsibility….
Posted by: ncpilot10 | November 9, 2009, 9:37 pm 9:37 pm
john, just google “barney franks exposed on mortgage regulations”. From there, you will be shown links that show actual footage of the gay cavalier and his involvement in this horrible de-regulation of the financial sector. It’s not opinion you’ll be reading…it is the actual video of the speeches he made. I think your bubble just might be burst a little bit…..hope you do it and hope you enjoy it. Spread the risk? Are you serious. In what dream on what planet? Those derivative securities were developed strictly to make a huge profit, 30:1 profit vs worth. It had nothing to do with having to do with it to spread risk. That is ludicrous considering what the end result was. The biggest implosion of economic risk in the world economy in 80 yrs. It was pure greed. And if you think as many Dems were involved as Republicans on Wall Street, you are again dreaming. Wall Street full of Democrats?! Funny. And you show your lack of facts when you state the Dems were not overridden all the time during those 2 yrs. The fact is that Republican overrides of Democrats’ proposals averaged once per day during those 2 yrs.

tell ya what, john. You are really competent in making statements like, “…are you serious??!!” and “..you’ve gotta be kidding!!”. You stated that if i think that there are as many democrats on wall street as republicans, I must be dreaming. And you state that I don’t know what i’m talking about because the GOP over rode the Dems on EVERYTHING they proposed. You are really superior in making gray claims. Now, Mr. Liberal Intellectual (and by the way, it was YOU who wanted to associate yourself with the intellectual title, so wear it)….why don’t you actually look up the political affiliation of the members of wall street? And other millionaires, by the way. Look up PAC’s and to whom they donated money. Check out Bill and Linda Gates…they are pretty rich…But let’s stick to Wall Street. Go do some actual research. The world does not exist by what is in your mind….look for facts. Are you trying to convince me that the Dems only proposed one bill a day for the final 2 years of the bush administration? You say the GOP over rode EVERY SINGLE bill that the Dems proposed. So no Dem bills were passed for 2 years, huh? Try sticking to fact instead of hyperbole…you’ll seem much more intellectualy for the effort…..thanks. And good night

Your referral to Barney Frank as “gay cavalier” says it all. You need say no more about what you are about or where you are coming from. Your motives are now clear and no longer worth discussing. And by the way, the root of “fear” of Sarah Palin is all those people who don’t have a clue what the actual facts are, but follow her lead, and have the same vote as people who actually study facts and use them to come to fact based conclusions, ala back to Winston Churchill fears. The Sarah Palin’s of this world are what resulted in a 2nd term of George Bush and our present economy. So, fear? Definitely.

You spewed that I should look up actual facts, etc, but then presented not one actual fact that I was wrong on anything I said. You just didn’t believe any of it. You referred to PACS — ok, where’s YOUR DATA about Dem vs Republican PACS to show I was wrong. You did exactly the same thing you accused me of in trying to show I was wrong. At least you are a quick study. Bill and Linda Gates is your example? Bill Gates is not a Wall Street financial person, which is what this is all about, and had nothing to do with the Wall Street profits or implosion. Bill Gates lost a fortune when the economy imploded. I stated that they averaged 1 override/day. I stated a number. Where is your number proving I was wrong? All you did was spew that I was wrong, and didn’t produce anything to prove it, which is what you faulted me for! Let’s see your facts, numbers showing I’m wrong. Jerry,
The State of Oregon does not have state insurance. It has a state sponsored high risk medical insurance coverage pool. That is a pool of PRIVATE health insurance companies covering private individuals with government subsidy. Your issue with the state panel turning her down carries weight only if the alternative, a private insurance company, would NOT have turned her down. And there are examples all over the country of private companies turning people down for these things every minute of every day. So your implication that we don’t want government run health insurance, because a private one would be better doesn’t hold any water. Give us an example of Medicare doing something like this, and then maybe you have an argument. But I have dealt with both private insurers and Medicare(government), and my experience is even if someone can prove that the government one is bad, the only problem with that is that the private health insurance providers are much worse. So what choice do you make? You say you don’t want “bad”, so you prefer “worse”??

Okay, John. I’m just waking up, but since you are too intellectual to do the research about PAC’s for yourself, here you go:
Total Amount: $17,646,229
Total to Democrats: $9,784,039 (55%)
Total to Republicans: $7,848,390 (44%)
Number of PACs making contributions:
Accountants: $1,900,879
45% to Dems / 55% to Repubs
Commercial Banks: $2,443,812
52% to Dems / 48% to Repubs
Credit Unions: $867,325
61% to Dems / 39% to Repubs
Finance/Credit Companies: $969,127
56% to Dems / 44% to Repubs
Insurance: $6,478,263
57% to Dems / 43% to Repubs
Misc Finance: $608,789
48% to Dems / 52% to Repubs
Real Estate: $1,913,499
56% to Dems / 44% to Repubs
Savings & Loans: $10,900
83% to Dems / 17% to Repubs
Securities & Investment: $2,453,635
63% to Dems / 36% to Repubs
This information was quite easy to find. It is based on the FEC report as of Oct 25, 2009. Now….do you still think that only Republicans are the beneficiaries of PAC contributions from the financial sector? Do you need any more data? Or do you prefer to live in your own mind and make up your own facts? Or just keep spewing your liberal party’s talking points, hoping that by repeating them often enough they become true? (and just for the record, the FEC reports are NOT associated with either party..the reports are from the legal forms that candidates and parties must file) Please don’t try to say this is “based on biased reports”…you’ll start to sound like your vice president

He is openly gay and he is extremely cavalier in the way he spends our money. Which part of the title offends you? “Gay”? why does that offend you? “Cavalier”? Why would THAT offend you? Your whole party is pretty cavalier when it comes to crazy spending. OH …I get it. When you can’t present a valid argument about a subject, you fall back on the old liberal ploy of acting all offended over something. Since your childish name calling and character attacks didn’t work, you take the “i’m so offended” defense. I understand now….never mind.

I want to know what the Ditz thinks about the very real insurance company “Death Panels”, who decide who lives and who dies, by denying people the care they need to save their financial butts, along with the doctors who can put the price tags on peoples lives over the old “Hippocratic Oath” which doctors supposedly used to take to put peoples live ahead of money.

And how many will die in debtors prison. This bill has a fine of 2.5 percent if you don’t purchase health insurance, to be administered by the IRS. If you don’t pay the fine, that can be punishable by $250,000 and FIVE YEARS IN PRISON. There’s some good old American choice for ya. What are you democrats thinking?????

No matter what, I don’t like the government making my health care decisions. If I was turned down by my insurance company, I would still have options to raise or borrow the money for treatment or seek a second opinion or even try alternative medicine. In government health care those options will no longer be available, everything will be under strict government control. If you are refused care, you have no alternative. One size fits all health care does not fit all. Just because you are denied insurance does not necessarily mean you are denied medical care; with the government option, it will.
