Plouffe Book – Sharpton’s Side of the Story
Obama’s campaign manager David Plouffe’s new book tells a story of how the Obama camp was concerned when they heard that the Reverend Al Sharpton would be coming to Iowa in the final days before the caucus. Plouffe writes that he told Obama, “I think we should say that if he’s coming to endorse Hillary, of course there’s nothing we can do….But if somehow he thinks coming here will be helpful to us, the last thing he should do is come to Iowa. This race is razor thin and we do not need a press side show.”
I asked Rev. Sharpton to fill in the blanks and he told me that a group was trying to bring him to Iowa to deal with race politics. “They wanted me to come in period on the race issue and really you’d be hard pressed to really deal with that in Iowa,” Sharpton said. And he told me he called Obama and said he, “wasn’t going to be used like that.”

Obama Avoids Questions on Contraception Rule
I have negative respect for Sharpton. I think his bias and self promotion has damaged race relations not helped them and his ego is ludicrous. In a word a real Jerk. Typical of what Washington has to offer. If he had a shred of good intention he would go away and hide his pompous face.

What is interesting is how Sharpton is still so popular. The guy has a sorta genius. Call it “community organizing”. Call it “jew baiting” even. Or call it “marketing”. Call it what you will but he is a survior and Obama has learnt much from him likely. Arguably Rev.Wright influenced Obama more- but this was likely due to proximity and personal mentoring. But Obama could gain a lot of experience from listening to Sharpton also.

Hey Ed, when you say “Sharpton is still so popular,” I am curious, popular with who? What group do you see him as being popular with?

The commenting on these blogs have the nerves to call out other radicals when, in fact, their attitude depicts the same trait. I could care less about Al Sharpton, but when you see these people commenting about him, it can only bring one to feel threatened by their bias.
Have you ever wondered that your views are passed for mainstream only because you’re the majority? Oh, you think Rush Limbaush is such a great political personality, but Al Sharpton is a jerk, huh? Well, obviously when your views are well represented on the media (because it’s majority white), you’re the rational, intelligent, and accepted beings. No wonder you’re fighting against other people. It’s because you know that life will not be the same when you’re no longer the majority. Don’t you see how easy it is for the racists to call other people racists? It’s becoming a joke now. Whew, what a relief to finall call others names you’ve been labeled with for so long!

I can’t believe Al Sharpton was on the roundtable. This unsavory character – often referred to as a “race hustler” – contributed nothing to the discussion, except to insert his usual bellicose, bullhorn rhetoric. His appearance on the roundtable was farcical.

Last week ABC news was promoting Falcon the balloon boy, this week it’s Al Sharpton.I think a pattern is being set by ABC,they will cover all the nonsense stories along with the National Enquirer and leave the real news reporting to FOX.
