The Presidential Planner Abroad

ABC News' Sunlen Miller reports: President Obama wraps up his week-long tour of Asia on Thursday, spending the day in Seoul, South Korea before returning to the White House in the evening. Mr. Obama will first meet – as he has done in each of his stops during his trip – with United States Embassy staff and their families in Seoul. Later, the President will participate in an arrival ceremony at the Blue House, the official presidential residence and executive office in Northern Seoul. The Korean name – “Chongwadae” means “house of blue roof tiles,” for its distinctive blue tile roof. While there the President will there meet one-on-one with President Lee Myung-bak of South Korea as well as an extended bilateral meeting with members from each of their delegations. The leaders are expected to discuss Afghanistan, efforts to end the North Korean nuclear weapons program, the economy, climate change, and will discuss hammering out details to complete the stalled US-South Korea Free Trade Agreement. Read more from ABC’s Jake Tapper HERE. Both leaders will then hold a joint press conference at the Blue House before a working lunch. Next, Mr. Obama will visit with service members at Osan Air Base and deliver remarks to primarily thank the troops for their service. The President will then fly back to Washington, DC capping off his week-long four country visit to Asia, making a brief stop in Anchorage, Alaska to refuel Air Force One on the way. -Sunlen Miller

Obama could use a few more days out in the ozone. Holder’s not doing so hot.
The timing of this trip was so deliciously convenient.

Amazing. It’s come to this:
“The Rev. Jesse Jackson on Wednesday night criticized Rep. Artur Davis (D-Ala.) for voting against the Democrats’ signature healthcare bill. ‘We even have blcks voting against the healthcare bill,’ Jackson s’id at a reception Wednesday night. “You can’t vote against healthcare and call yourself a black man.’ The remark stirred a murmur at the reception, held by the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) Foundation.”

And you, Mr. Jackson, do not get to determine whether we are “black” or not.

Obama said:
“We’ve restored America’s standing in the world”
Really?
I can’t remember a time when America was so broke, so indebted to a foreign country, and had such a weak leader.
What did Obama restore America to–the Carter years?

Beijing, China (CNN) — A little more than a year after his election, President Obama said his administration has laid the groundwork for success on global and domestic matters.
“I think that we’ve restored America’s standing in the world, and that’s confirmed by polls,” he told CNN’s Ed Henry in a wide-ranging interview this week during his trip to China.

He follows that up in the context that before Obama’s election less that %50 of the world felt they could count on America to do the right thing – now that number is over %75.
