Obama Prepares for Copenhagen Climate Summit
ABC's Rachel Martin reports: The President heads to Copenhagen for the UN Conference on Climate Change later this week and White House officials are already lowering expectations for what will come out of his visit – and the talks overall. Today in a background briefing for reporters, senior administration officials characterized the negotiations (ongoing for the past 10 days) as “bumpy” and “often difficult.”
The negotiations focus around one central goal: how to get wealthy, developing and poor countries to commit to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. And once they’ve committed, how to ensure and prove that they’re making the necessary cuts. In advance of his trip to Copenhagen, President Obama held a conference call today with with French President Nicolas Sarkosy, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, to discuss the talks and their collective goals.
China hold a lot of cards in the climate talks and while Chinese negotiators have suggested that they will commit to lower emissions, they have refused to concede to any kind of international verification protocol. White House officials say in order to reach a deal, all parties have to commit to “full transparency.” When asked if US negotiators how much direct progress has been achieved in the last week and a half during the Copenhagen conference, a senior administration official said, the progress “has been in clarifying these specific points of difference and honing in on them in order to bridge gaps. We are now trying to figure out of if the gaps can be bridged.” In other words – not much.

Santorum: Money Will Not Defeat Obama, Ideas Will
Rick Santorum's Full Speech at CPAC 2012
Every European nation admits that they outsourced their carbon emissions to China and Asia (via manufacturing jobs).
That was the only way to even come close to the Kyoto protocol.
So NOW you still have the SAME CO2 emissions and other pollutants PLUS you add in the transportation carbon footprint of these products as well.
This is ‘progress’?

Obama should dress warmly.
The temperature in Copenhagen, where a landmark UN summit on climate change is taking place, is tipped to hit minus ten degrees Celsius this week.
Snow is expected to start falling on Sunday and continue through to the last day of the summit on Friday.
This happens so often to Algore (blizzards, cold snaps) that you have to believe God has a sense of humor.
It’s anecdotal but so are most of the claims being made by “climatologists” hiding the decline.

I had an African American cab driver talk for a full thirty minutes of the trip on how Obama has betrayed the people who elected him, and how Cap n’ Trade will decimate the economy…
Now if Obama’s base is talking like that, the ice under his legs is quite thin. If he continues his “bull in a China shop” diplomacy here in the US and abroad, he will be a one term President.
He needs to listen to the American people who are against Crap n’ Trade, and the Health Care “Pigs at the trough”, taxpayer giveaway, and Start over. Unless he is fed up already and is not wanting to bother with his next campaign.
